The Sanctuary is not a hotel or a hostel; rather it is like a large family house in which you can support each other in your healing processes. The Sanctuary is housed in a luxurious colonial style five-bedroom house set within a walled garden in a peaceful neighborhood.

The Sanctuary offers a choice of private or shared rooms. Despite their own unique energy, the rooms offer proper personal space, comfort, tranquility, and inspiration.

    The mandala master suite

The mandala master suite is the most luxurious room at The Sanctuary. It has a queen bed, its own luxury bathroom, with bathtub and shower, as well as a large private balcony looking over the garden. Facing east, it has that vibrant light from the morning sun as well as the evening freshness when it's time to relax. Large windows and fans help this to be the coolest room in the house.

    The love casita

The love casita has its own shaded rooftop space to relax, read a book, or watch the sunset. Located in the garden, within the walls of The Sanctuary, the love casita offers a more private space than the rooms in the main house. It has a queen bed and its own separate entrance gate, and it can also be accessed through the garden.

    Nirvana room

The nirvana room is sometimes used as a shared room and sometimes as a private room. It does not have its own bathroom, but shares the upstairs bathroom with the guests in the ascension and healing rooms. It has one queen size bed and a bunk bed so can be used for up to four people.

    Ascension room

The ascension room is a shared room which you reach after walking up the stairway. It has a total of four beds, one single bunk bed, and three single beds. It can sleep up to five people.

    Healing room

The healing room is a private room. It has a queen bed, and it shares the bathroom with the nirvana and ascension rooms.

    Peace room

The peace room is a semi-private room separated in two using a room divider for massage sessions. This is another shared room which is located downstairs just inside the front door. The layout is exactly the same as the ascension room and it contains another queen bed and one single bed.

    Light room

This is a Winnebago motor-home which doubles as a room. It has a double bed across the cab, a sofa (which pulls out to a small double bed) and a table with seats. The RV bathroom is not in use but the terrace of the main house and a bathroom is a few steps away. There is lots of storage space and a tarpaulin over the top to create shade.

Through inner work, you can visualize old beliefs and choose a new vision for yourself, the people in your life, and to all life in general. By allowing yourself to experience true feelings you open the door to forgiveness and gratitude for everything in your past. By accepting and relinquishing anger towards the past, you can live in the present moment and enjoy all that life has to offer.

Puerto Escondido is a small port and tourist center in the Mexican state of Oaxaca. The name has roots in the legend of a woman who escaped her captors and hid there. The Nahuatl word for this area was Zicatela, meaning place of large thorns. Today, it refers to the area’s most famous beach.

Puerto Escondido is one of the most important tourist attractions on the Oaxacan coast. It caters to a more downscale and eclectic clientele than neighboring Huatulco, mostly surfers, backpackers, and Mexican families. The main attractions are the beaches; Zicatela beach hosts major surfing competitions, while other beaches have gentle waves. West from the town is a large lagoon area popular for fishing and bird watching.

" The Sanctuary - Vegan Community and Health RetreatsThe Sanctuary was a great experience for me, I went on a solo mission and opted for the shared accommodation. The people that I met at The Sanctuary will forever live In my heart. The days are structured to allow a lot of time to explore and enjoy your time in the beautiful Puerto Escondido. The sunsets, the beaches, the little hippie surf spots, the scenery. It's amazing. There are a lot of dogs that like to bark at night but it's something that you just become used to. The food is absolutely amazing, Connie is very talented, it didn't even feel like I was eating "vegan," the one thing I would do is go back and help in the kitchen to learn her amazing recipes. The practitioners that are offered are by far the best I've had in years. Thank you Peter and everyone who touched my soul for the lovely experience. "

"Great experience! Good food and people. This is a good place to be creative in your healing and restoration as it does not follow any one meditation, yoga approach, or healing methodology. It is not upscale so don't expect fancy, instead expect good vegan food and a chance for self-reflection. Happy to be here, Anna. "

"I stayed at Sanctuary for five weeks. What a wonderful experience. Eating Vegan for that time was a real treat. My objective was three fold: lower blood sugar (cut carbs and walking), loose weight (vegetables), and improve flexibility (yoga). I'm please to report that I was very successful in all three. I was amazed to discover how varied and tasty a vegan diet can be. The chef prepares the meals each day with the help of contributing guests."

"Peter (owner) and all the myriad of guest made my stay so very pleasant. Anyone looking to recharge and renew must include a stay at Sanctuary. Plan to stay awhile, you'll be glad you did. The pricing options which allow you to contribute your time to reduce your cost are exceptional. I can go on and on about what a wonderful experience it is to stay here."

"The long beautiful beach is a short walk away and features surf and awesome sunsets. The climate is just right. Also, as you may expect, the photos exactly represent the property as I found it. Do yourself a favor, plan to visit Sanctuary. I know I'll be back again. "

"Staying at The Sanctuary changed my life. I thought I was only in for some health juices and learning a little yoga and meditation on the beach, but instead I had the chance to become a part of a community working together in learning and teaching. I've never felt so good physically as I did during my two week stay at The Sanctuary, thanks to the breathing work, the yoga, and the healthy diet. I thought I would never survive without meat or cheese, but instead it was actually really easy! Everyone that was staying there was very supportive, and I couldn't have had such a great experience without the staff and crew. Thank you so much! "

"I'm very thankful and happy that Pete hosted me and made me part of his awesome project, even though I only stayed for two days and one night, I enjoyed myself there. Being part of the morning meditation was very special and the couple of times that I got to talk to Pete were very helpful for me as I saw my reflex in him. Blessings and all the best to you and The Sanctuary."

"The Sanctuary is a healing place in Puerto Escondido, Mexico. It is a place where people share different ways to try to achieve a harmony between body, mind and spirit. Lots of things happened since I arrived: challenges, laughter, tears, thousands of emotions, incredible food, amazing workshops, beautiful people, thousands of learnings and of course, the beauty of mother nature. Each second is a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with ourselves, the others and the Oneness. Here, we try to do our best to build a healing community and share with the people interested. You have meditation, yoga, dance, chanting, retreats, rituals, fasting, and so many others possibilities. Everything and everyone is really interconnected, so if you feel the calling in your heart, please take the time to come to this beautiful place surrounded by incredible beaches and to try to heal yourself while you heal the world at the same time."
