The Pineapple House is split over two traditional boutique villas, one three-bedroom, and one two-bedroom (all en-suite) villa. This luxury three-bedroom (all en-suite) villa was originally an antique wooden joglo from Java which was transported to Canggu in Bali and was rebuilt to specification. The building and interior design were completed in August 2013. With a large doorway between the two villas, there will be lots of space for you to hang out and relax in the two large living areas.

There are also plenty of bean bags and sofas to sit, read, watch a movie, or catch up with your fellow guests on the days' activities. The kitchen and dining areas are fully equipped and ready for expert and novice chefs alike. The villas were designed specifically for laid-back fun. The Pineapple House also has super-fast Wi-Fi throughout. The villas can be opened up to make one large space with five bedrooms or used as two separate villa, depending on guest requirements.

The guest accommodation consists of five private bedrooms with en-suite bathroom, hot water, fans, and air conditioning. Two of the downstairs bedrooms have four-poster king-sized beds and a single bed along with a walk-in wardrobe, the remaining two downstairs rooms have four-poster double beds, walk-in wardrobe, and outdoor bathroom including a large bathtub.

The upstairs bedroom is a double and comes complete with its own "Romeo and Juliet" balcony overlooking the working rice paddies. There are two refreshing swimming pools with decking area for your ultimate relaxation when not in the surf or in a yoga session, and not forgetting the “nap shack”, a comfy poolside gazebo that beckons you for an afternoon snooze.

In this retreat, you will have a mixture of private one-on-one yoga sessions and group classes led by world-class instructors, alongside hours of nourishing spa and body treatments and a day trip of your choice to either Ubud or Uluwatu. The group classes are held at Desa Seni, the amazing yoga resort, while the privates will be held at The Pineapple House. The Pineapple House is surfers and yogis who are inspired to live by these principles. They were born from this passion.

There is a schedule of the activities. However, The Pineapple House does keep the scheduling to a minimum. The schedule is constructed so that most of the activities are done in the mornings, leaving you with the afternoons at your leisure, whether to chill out by the pool, write that book that you've been telling yourself you will do, see other parts of the island, or simply sleep. There are yoga classes on offer throughout the days so if you want to do yoga in the afternoon, that's totally fine too.

Included excursions

During this retreat, you will experience a one-day trip of your choice to either Ubud or Uluwatu.

The body massages

  • Facial

Facial is a real indulgence that is truly beneficial for your face and skin. This treatment starts with an aloe vera extract cleanser and is followed by an exfoliating scrub. A gentle cream massage is next before applying an organic mask that acts as an excellent pollution detoxifier removing dead skin cells and creating a healthy glowing complexion. Lie back and relax while the mask sets and your arms and hands are gently massaged. After the mask is removed, a toner is applied to help fight the premature signs of aging. A light moisturizer is finally applied to finish off the treatment. All the products used in this facial are The Pineapple House's own organic spa line in conjunction with Martha Tilaar Vital Nutrition.

  • Hair and scalp treatment

This deeply relaxing treatment is designed to nourish and strengthen the hair. It is delivered using a combination of traditional Indonesian scalp massage techniques and Chinese acupressure, the treatments also features beautiful botanical and herbal based hair product, especially formulated to provide sustenance and protection to the hair. The neck, shoulder, and hands will be massaged while the hair is wrapped.

  • Kadek

Kadek brings harmony to one’s mind and emotions using aromatherapy and Balinese strokes and deep tissue massage techniques. In Chinese medicine, the physical body is inseparable from the mind and emotions, disharmony of either leads to sickness and disease. Five different blends of essential oils are applied throughout the massage to assist in calming the mind and emotions and restoring harmony.

  • Ketut

This foot treatment start with a dip in a warm fresh green tea, mint leaves, slice of lemon, and crystal sea salt foot soak with a foot reflexology massage to follow. This health enhancing therapy focuses on the feet and legs to affect the whole body. Reflexology works on precise points on the feet that are believed to ‘reflex’ to other parts of the body. Stimulating these points can increase overall circulation and restore the natural healthy balance to specific parts of the body.

  • Komang

Komang is an incredibly balancing and rejuvenating massage. The placement of stones on your key energy points will help to promote relaxation in the body and to open up meridians while the aromatherapy oil relaxes your mind. Hot stone therapy melts away tension, calms the psyche, and releases toxins from the body and increases circulation and metabolism. The professional massage therapist also incorporates a customized massage with the use of hot stones. The direct heat of stone relaxes muscles, allowing the therapist access to the deeper muscle layers. The hot stones expand blood vessels, which encourages blood flow throughout the body.

  • Putu

Putu incorporates traditional Balinese massage with other Asian therapies (shiatsu, Thai, acupressure) and European technique (Swedish, deep tissue, and lomi-lomi) to create a massage on the meridians and improve the blood circulation in the body.

The body scrubs

  • Balinese Boreh Boreh

Balinese Boreh Boreh is detoxifying treatments which eliminates the toxins and strengthen the body natural defense system using potent herbs and invigorating techniques of delivery. This treatment is also amazing to relax the muscles, improve blood circulation, and open up the pores. All which aid in the release of the toxins from the system during the herbal wrap. Once detoxified, the body will feel light, limber, and alert-ready to face the world once more. Balinese Boreh Boreh consists of floral foot bath, Boreh scrub and mask, face acupressure point, cucumber moisturizer, and shower.

  • Caffeine treatment

Cellulite enemy number 1 is caffeine which tightens and provides antioxidants to skin when applied topically. When applied religiously, it has been shown to reduce the appearance of cellulite, especially over time. Here, The Pineapple House combines coffee grounds with moisturizing, skin-soothing coconut oil, and a bit of sea salt for an extra exfoliating kick. By massaging, you’ll stimulate blood flow resulting in smoother, firmer skin. Caffeine treatment consists of floral foot bath, coffee scrub, cucumber moisturizer, and shower.
