The purpose of this Orange Grove Retreats is always self-exploration and self-care. For this retreat, the emphasis will be on great wholesome food, mindful yoga to move the body, and mental space to process what your personal and professional needs are for the coming year. You will be focusing on opening up the body, stretching, building energy, and improving focus. There will be inspirational practices and engaging workshops based on these themes.

Quaker barns are light, spacious and contemporary in style. The barns have views across undulating fields to woodland and beyond. There is an abundance of birds and wildlife, and an adjacent footpath allows for country walks direct from the doorstep into miles of quiet country lanes. There are two stunning master bedrooms and two deluxe doubles.

The shared accommodation comprises of two twins and a stylish hayloft quad, although you can also pay a supplement to have a twin room to yourself, just contact us. However, having taught retreats for a while, the community of a shared experience is all part of the weekend, and you will quite probably make some friends for life.

Program

The yoga Jackie teaches is based on the eight limbs of yoga, so mindfulness, breath, and affirmation is equally important as movement. You will be focusing on opening up the body, stretching, building energy and improving focus. There will be inspirational practices and engaging workshops based around these themes throughout the weekend, with around eight hours of Hatha yoga practice, mixed with a blend of Vinyasa and a splash of Yin.

As it is the new year, you will be focused on setting intentions for 2020, and developing individual thoughts around the daily practice to accompany you through the navigations of daily life. The workshops will be focused on vision boards and finding your mantras. The Zen Buddhist's set intentions every morning and evening as an approach to living a content lifestyle.

Intentions or mantras are powerful reminders that can be used to move us towards a positive mindset for living and can be adapted according to your individual needs and changes in the environment around you. To adapt, and to flow, towards a more peaceful life. There will also be ample opportunity to walk the Norfolk Countryside and soak up those big Norfolk skies!

Quaker Barns is set in the heart of the Norfolk countryside in the middle of country fields. To the east is the Norfolk Broads, to the south the historic city of Norwich and north of Haveringland lies the dramatic Norfolk coast, the backdrop for many a film set and the reason why Norfolk has earned the description of the county of The Big Sky. Here there is certainly space. Space to meander through countryside fields, to cycle the many tracks, to hop on a local boat down the broads or simply to sit and appreciate the setting sun.
