Kristy McBurney is a Yoga Alliance registered yoga teacher. She lives in the beautiful English county of Dorset. Her classes are based in and around Gillingham and Shaftesbury. Kristy's classes are gentle, dynamic, and flowing, focusing on the union of body, breath, and mind through simple asanas (postures) and easy pranayama (breathing techniques).

    Kristy has been teaching yoga to a client that I support with autistic spectrum disorders. There is a real sensitivity that Kristy puts across in such simple down to earth ways, giving clear instructions and positive encouragement, adapting her teaching to the needs of the individual. My client looks forward to the private one to one class and is comfortable with Kristy, following her instructions and maintaining focus which is in part due to her teaching abilities. The class helps to maintain flexibility and can be deeply relaxing and calming. I would not hesitate in recommending her to others.

    I spent today at Kristy's yoga retreat day and I cannot think of a better way to spend a Sunday. It was a chance to step out of my busy life and focus on myself by working with all aspects of my body and mind. Kristy's friendly and knowledgeable teachings put everyone at their ease. It was a treat to have the time to enjoy a space between each asana, an opportunity to look within at what was happening physically, emotionally, and mentally. Kristy's choice of postures meant that by the end of the day, all aspects of the body were covered, blockages shifted, and system back in the flow. The day was varied and apart from the yoga, also included chanting, toning, and pranayama - all of which led naturally to relaxed and focused meditation.

    Kristy also provided a very tasty, homemade, vegetarian meal which was extremely welcome. I feel replenished on many levels. My body is relaxed and I feel re-energized. Thank you Kristy for a wonderful day.
