Elena is amazing person, very kind, gentle, positive and joyful, I really enjoyed my stay. The location is outside of Rome, but well connected to the city by regular trains. The food is simple and good. The host attitude is very warm and friendly, she really did her best to make sure that all needs of her guests are met. Elena is teaching shivananda yoga, which to be honest, looks more like some primitive fitness class for senior people - haha, I was so naive, the next days my muscles were burning!!)))) A lot of attention to pranayama, various breathing and relaxation techniques, and just after one week I feel like that rusted Tin Woodman, who finally got some oil on his joints)))
I had full room and bathroom for my sole use, which was really nice. The house feels very authentic and - let me say this - very Italian, featuring many pieces of art, some being over thousand years old (no kidding!). Little boy Filippo is very lovely and social, there are also a couple of Jack Russels and a huge shepherd dog Myrtilla, she was very cute and licking my hands all the time.
To those planning the retreat at House of Yoga - make sure you include bike tour on the ancient Appian way and a trip to Citta di Sutri, as well as lake Bracciano, all these picturesque places will totally blow your mind!
