Jayne is a 450-hour fully qualified yoga instructor, trained in a number of several yoga practices from the more energetic Vinyasa flow to the gentle restorative Yin yoga, with Tantra, a more in-depth personal practice allowing you to really concentrate on connecting with your true authenticity, sitting in between the two. She had the good fortune to train in India, learning yoga philosophy from an experienced guru, and practicing with some amazing yogis. "Excellent staff, the perfect escape"
Alison and Andi were amazing! They went the extra mile by driving me to where I needed to be and buying me the snacks I was craving! The yoga was very relaxing, perfect for a beginner and incorporated modifications for those with more experience. The two classes a day were optimal and the mindfulness sessions introduced me to some new techniques I am now using at home and we received some introductory information regarding the energies, chakras and muscle testing. The gardens were amazing and each guest had their own en-suite bathroom and mine had a giant jacuzzi bath! Alison was more than willing to make us a snack if needed and emphasised the fact that her home was ours for the weekend. Overall I felt incredibly welcome, relaxed and accepted 😊

I was apprehensive with it being my first retreat, but there was no need for me to feel this way. From start to finish I felt welcome and cared for by everyone.
Alison and Andi are the most amazing hosts of The House at Temple Sowerby. The house itself is fabulous, great location; clean, spacious, en suite rooms; excellent service; and simply DELICIOUS food. There is not one negative thing to say. Furthermore the welcoming, caring and non-judgmental attitude of the hosts made me feel right at home from the start. Nothing is too much trouble, they really will go the extra mile to make your stay as wonderful as it can be.
I was quite blown away by what I learnt about Yoga and Mindfulness!
This was my first go at Yoga, and I was surprised at how aerobic it can be. I expected to be sitting on a fluffy cloud chanting "Ommmm" serenely, not sweating, puffing and panting! The instructor, Jayne, is clearly an expert in her field and a great teacher. She made sure that everyone was working at a level suitable for them and gently encouraged us to be the best we could.
The introduction to energy healing via Emotion Code and Mindfulness techniques from Lisa was both deeply beneficial and mind blowing. It did get very emotional at times, but I felt supported throughout.
This fabulous retreat has helped me start on a better life journey for myself. Highly recommended.
