"I booked the Wipe Out Retreat at the Greens Rooms, it was an amazing experience. Dave and Russ were attentive hosts providing some of the best and healthiest food I've ever had. Diana the yoga instructor was very sympathetic to people with injuries and little experience in yoga as was our surf instructor. The retreat included two massages a week which were very welcome and made me feel so nurtured. The rest of the guests were cool and had a great vibe."

"I have just returned home from what may have been one of the most rejuvenating and happy weeks of my life thanks to the wonderful hospitality enjoyed at The Green Rooms. Dave and Russ were incredible hosts at The Green Rooms and went above and beyond taking care of 10 goofy yogis who enjoyed a week of surfing, yoga, meditation and adventure. From the minute we arrived; Dave assisted with everything from coordinating fun add-ons (candlelight yoga, ATVs, hikes, picnics, bonfires) to our trip with our leaders to helping schedule taxis and other fun day-trips. He was incredible at thinning the border between "tourist" vs. "authentic experience" in Costa Rica which was a valuable and important aspect that I thoroughly enjoyed during the trip. All of the wonderful people at The Green Rooms made you feel very welcome and like you belonged. The space was clean yet inviting and just a short distance from all the action in town. The pool was clean, clear and refreshing. The bathrooms and common areas were well-maintained throughout the duration of our trip. The food was in a word- incredible. Russ cooked every single meal to perfection and in a timely manner- we did not go hungry and we never had to wait :) . All of the meals were made with fresh ingredients, well seasoned, well portioned (plenty of extra) and gourmet in style and flavor. Beautiful works of art, truly. The entire atmosphere was peaceful with an emphasis on the environment (composting, recycling and zero-waste) which just added to the bliss factor. "

"Did I mention that I had my first massage here? Dave's beautiful and welcoming partner Nikki offers world class massages; honestly was moved to tears with her healing abilities. Even after my flight I still feel rejuvenated, fresh and limber."

"Dave, Russ, and the rest of the Green Rooms crew do an excellent job maintaining the wonderful space. The architecture is very open and the area is surrounded by the jungle flora and fauna. The rooms are quaint and nice, but you pretty much only spend time in them to change clothes and sleep at the end of the day. We spent most of our time outside. Our group was there for a Surf and Yoga Retreat and it could not have been a more perfect setting. There is a pool, amazing fresh, local food provided, and it's only a short walk (10 min) downhill to town and the beach. There are a lot of restaurants and sweet local shops in Santa Teresa and Mal Pais. Dave is a wonderful and very attentive host. He knows the Nicoya Peninsula very well and has plenty of advice and tips for tourists who want the most out of their adventure! Yoga, surfing, ATV and bike rental, you name it, he can help. Russ' cooking is out of this world! I highly recommend you try it one, if not EVERY, night of your stay. You definitely get in touch with nature and a sustainable way of coexisting with it at the Green Rooms. Best vacation yet! I will definitely be returning!"

"I would give this place 5 stars for the experience but gave it a 4 only because it is not (by far) a luxury hotel. "

"As a single traveler, I hung out here a lot, took surf lessons, and met really great local people and travelers. If the primary goal is to surf, relax, and make friends (or not), this is the best place in Weligama to stay or just visit for a surf lesson, chill session, or a drink. Seriously, good times. The place is comfortable and welcoming for families, couples, and single travelers (there were many here). Great surf instructors, surf board rentals, and general surf location guidance."

"The rooms are not too bad if you are used to hostel-like spots because they aren't at all fancy. They are simple. I believe some rooms may be nicer than others, so just check before you yravel to get what you want. The showers cold (but it's hot here, so nobody wants a hot shower). You will have basic needs. Fans but no A/C. "

"Possibly the coolest place we've stayed! I've travelled around a bit and this place really felt like a home from home. Aj and the boys couldn't do enough to help and their friendliness and service was second to none. We stayed in the Chadanna cabana which was clean, had a big comfy bed and amazing ensuite wetroom under the stars!"

"We stayed for 2 weeks with the accomodation and surf package which included surf lessons each day, breakfast and lunch. "

"The fresh fruit, banana pancakes, omlete and coffee were unreal after an early morning surf. We were lucky enough to experience one of Aj's Mum's signiture homemade curries! - Freshest tastiest curry going - just keep a drink handy!"

"Good range of boards for different ability levels. Shaggy, Lucky, Upul and Rachel were all really knowledgable and helped us both improve. The guys had a good network of tuk tuk drivers, restaraunts and places to go which made doing things really easy."

"All extra food and drink is charged to the room and settled up at the end of the stay, which we found extrememly reasonably priced."

"Due to the small amount of rooms there was a really intimate community feel and saying goodbye felt like saying bye to a group of friends!"

"We'll definitely be going back one day - Thanks for having us!"

"Best recomendations! Good surf instruction, got all the help we needed for daytrips. Great fish curry. Cool but very friendly staff. We could not have asked for more. Ask for a fishing trip with the owner if you are not going on a boat trip for surfing. The narrow boats are not only beatifully coloured the are also fast and make a good trip in the bay"
