During the retreat, you will stay in simple, very cosy, and comfortable eco-accommodation. All hand-built with repurposed and recycled materials.

There are both single and twin rooms and all of them have a view.

We offer one large twin room with ensuite bathroom, one twin room with a shared bathroom, and three single rooms with a shared bathroom. There is also a plunge pool to cool off in and relax.

Program

This retreat is based in an old farmhouse with amazing vista views of the quiet French countryside. Your wonderful instructors will guide you through your yoga and pilates practice each day and also be available to help you answer individual questions throughout the weekend.

There is plenty of space on the property, and ample free time for you to relax, meditate, read, be crafty, or join other activities that happen around the farm should you wish. With several local attractions, there are also plenty of places close by for you to explore if you'd rather get out and about.

There is also a plunge pool, which is perfect to cool off.

Retreat location

The Field Retreat is nestled in the rolling hills of the Creuse countryside. It is wonderfully peaceful, surrounded by fields, trees, and breathtaking views. The surrounding area is dotted with tiny hamlets, pretty villages, a forest and has a wealth of history to discover. There is a blueberry farm, and an animal sanctuary that hosts visitors, and an activity center, all within a few minute's drive.

There are several cafés, bars, and restaurants in the nearest village run by very friendly and welcoming hosts. Each village has its own market day, where the local farmers sell their fresh produce and many local artisans sell their creations.

A superb place to visit, whether you are looking for plenty of activities and places to visit or just to relax and unwind.

Food

The Field Retreat provides delicious homestyle vegan meals, all included in the package. The food served is made from as many local products as possible. You are welcome to come and learn how to cook all the wonderful dishes served.

If you wish to make your own creation, there is also a guest kitchen for your use and a supermarket six minutes away.

We do our very best to cater for all dietary requests, just let us know your needs.

The Field Retreat does not provide alcoholic beverages so as not to distract anyone wishing to stick to a healthy diet. However, guests who wish to enjoy some French wine or such with dinner are very welcome to do so.

Things to do (optional)

There are several different excursion options including a guided walk through the forest to Les Pierres Jaumâtres, a trip to a local village, the local antique stores or perhaps Boussac Château.

There are also many events that happen throughout the year, so please contact The Field Retreat to find out more or make a request or booking. As time is limited on a weekend retreat, they might have to re-arrange your advertised schedule a little to accommodate the activity. The Field Retreat can also arrange a basket making workshop, canoeing, tree adventures with zip-lines, or horse riding at an extra cost.

Spa treatments

There is the possibility to arrange a massage for 50 EUR. Just contact Lo Yoga for more details beforehand.

How to get there

Recommended Airports

Arrival by airplane

If you book your flight to arrive at Limoges – Bellegarde Airport (LIG). Ryanair and BA both have twice-weekly flights including Fridays and Mondays. Transfer from and to this airport is available upon request at an additional cost of 50 EUR per person. If our car is already full, taking the train out to us is easy also, where we would come and pick you up at Lavaufranche or Guéret station.

If you fly into Paris you can take a train from there to Montluçon or Châteauroux, where we can also come to pick you up by arrangement. Montluçon is a free pick-up, but Châteauroux would be 50 euro as it is a longer trip.

Arrival by train

The nearest large train station is Châteauroux. You can book a train to this station and if available The Field Retreat can arrange a shuttle to and from it for 50 EUR per person. Closer than this is however is Montluçon, Guéret, and a tiny local station called Lavaufranche, where The Field Retreat can pick you up at no extra cost. Check the connections to these stations when booking your trip. Many guests have found this a very easy option.

Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 30% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid on arrival.
