Experience the healing power of nature in Eco Retreat near Mysore. The Eco Retreat is a place of peace and harmony that allows your mind to reconnect with Mother Earth, your body, and your inner self. You can find both healing and self-realization in the green sanctuary the Eco Retreat provides. In a huge garden that grows beside a wild lake, a great variety of healing plants are flourishing.

By coming to visit them in nature at the Eco Retreat, you are also choosing to support your body’s natural healing processes. They provide you with a simple room that meets your basic needs. Simplicity helps you to reconnect with nature and gain a peaceful state of mind. Each room at the Eco Retreat is equipped with a simple bed, a fan, mosquito-protected windows, and a desk. Bathrooms are shared between three rooms.

Program

The Eco Retreat’s program includes yoga, mindfulness training, chanting, breathwork, gardening, self-empowerment activities, and the opportunity to engage in Karma yoga and cross-cultural exchange with the local community. The activities of the Eco Retreat might vary depending on the season and can be adjusted to match your wishes. This seven-day retreat is intimate, held in a small group, and deeply personal. It is led and facilitated by Kiran, the founder of this space. He will share his knowledge with you through his unique approach, offering you the space to settle into the magic of your place. If you:

  • Feel the calling to visit the eco retreat
  • Wish to experience personal introspection in a calm and supportive environment
  • Are ready to embrace an authentic Indian lifestyle with simple facilities
  • Want to contribute to social causes
  • Are aligned with their guidelines and values

Then you are more than welcome, and the ashram is open to you at any time.

What is yoga?

When you talk about yoga, often you think only of the asanas - the physical poses that come to mind when you are given this word. However, yoga is more than this. Here at the Eco Retreat, the yoga you practice is not just the yoga of physical asanas. When you speak of yoga practice at the center, you are thinking of yoga in a wider sense than the physical postures.

By staying here, you have a chance to deepen your yoga practice. The Eco Retreat offers you the chance to explore the different paths of yoga. The word "yoga" comes from Sanskrit “योग” which means “union”. When talking about this spiritual philosophy, you consider that there are many different spiritual paths in yoga.

  • Bhakti yoga: the path of devotion, recognition of the sacred and divine
  • Jnana yoga: the path that pursues knowledge with questions such as “Who am I, what am I?” also known as the path of self-realization
  • Karma yoga: the path of action and devotion to others, in this yoga, you act not because of the results your actions will have but rather for the sake of the action itself
  • Raja yoga: asanas are just one of the right classical spiritual paths associated with Raja yoga

Guidelines and rules

To preserve the peaceful and mindful atmosphere of this place, they kindly request that all guests adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Substance-free environment: Smoking, alcohol consumption, and the use of drugs are strictly prohibited within the retreat.
  • Technology usage: To minimize distractions and foster mindfulness, they encourage you to limit the use of mobile phones, social media, and other technologies. If necessary, these should be confined to private rooms or areas outside the retreat.
  • Ashram values: Eco Retreat operates as an Ashram, meaning certain values must be respected. Silence is a key component, as is maintaining a calm and focused atmosphere. It is important to keep in mind that it is a space for self-reflection and personal growth, not a resort for leisure.
  • Accommodation policy: In keeping with Ashram traditions, male and female guests are accommodated in separate spaces.
