The Curious Satchel offers you a new and exciting tropical adventure. You will be visiting fantastic Costa Rica for some unwinding yoga and the wonder of its majestic landscapes. You will be delighted by authentic Costa Rican cuisine and the combination of both beach and jungle environments. The surroundings will provide a beautiful backdrop for plenty of activities like surfing, snorkeling, hiking, and animal watching, with prices for everyone. Your days will be filled with mindful activities to make you reconnect both to yourselves and to nature.
Your first night will be spent in San Jose, while, the rest of the nights will be spent at The Goddess Garden, Cahuita. The influence of the Caribbean islands in the designs for local houses inspired The Goddess Garden to build their bungalows in the midst of the rainforest for yoga and meditation groups to enjoy. They provide four amazing buildings with ample terraces. Twelve rooms have two queen size beds each and 4 rooms have twin beds for lodging up to six people each.
The Goddess Garden also has its own restaurant, located near the conference center. You can enjoy a drink at the bar on the first floor and meals in the dining room on the second floor. The view of the swimming pool with its Jacuzzi will be your company.
A few steps away, the spectacular “palapa” (hut), with its 13 meter diameter, is an invitation for receptions and parties for special occasions. Naturally, the most important part is the exotic flowers and the animals that inhabit the huge jungle tree. In their beautifully designed gardens, you can be a part of it, either by watching, listening, or just relaxing in a hammock or taking a dip in the magnificent designed pool.
This retreat will take place firstly in San Jose and you will go to Cahuita for the rest of your days. Cahuita is a small community in the south of Costa Rica, 40 kilometers' south of Puerto Limon.
Cahuita National Park is the main attraction here, where you can watch White Faced Monkeys, Howler monkeys, Iguanas, and more. It is just a few steps away from its white sand beach. This place is 20 kilometers away from Puerto Viejo, where you may find boutiques filled with local handicrafts, its black beach, or the famous Salsa Brava and 5 minutes away the white beach of Cocles, a surfer paradise.
Ten kilometers further south, you will enjoy the beautiful bay of Punta Uva and where the roads ends, you will encounter Gandoca with the little fisher town of Manzanillo and its breathtaking white beaches. Additionally, there is a great variety of good restaurants along the small unpaved streets of what seems more like a village than a town in the eye of a tourist.
Costa Rica is located in the tropics. It does not have four seasons and its climate is pleasant warm during the whole year. Its average temperature around the year is 24-26 Celsius degrees. The ocean temperature oscillates between 22-28 Celsius degrees. The Caribbean coast is covered by tropical rainforest and remains green during the whole year. The driest months in the Caribbean are February, March, September, and October.
