Fantastic Retreat

This is the second time I have been to the Wellness Retreat at The Burn, and again had a fantastic time. Simone, Nix and Sanni provide a great mix of relaxation, yoga, excellent nutritious food, workshops and much needed massage. A great escape from the normal stresses of life, with some lovely like-minded women. Great chats and a lot of laughs, can't wait until the next retreat!

Chilled weekend retreat

Location fabulous. Lovely walks through the grounds and by the river. Yoga instruction was so good. Made me realise how much I have been missing a regular yoga class. The mindfulness workshop was thought provoking , if there had been time I would have loved to have a one to one with Sarah. Another time. Massage magic hands what more can I say. Great food and company. The instructors were all so friendly and welcoming. A lot packed into the weekend . Thank you all so much. Just a great experience.

First retreat ever - amazing experience

I booked the retreat hoping to escape from family and work, and reboot. I wasn’t sure what to expect as I’d never done this sort of thing before and was a bit nervous as I attended it alone. I honestly had the most fantastic experience and cannot fault any of it.

The instructors were all very warm, kind, funny and helpful. I asked them for advice on many different subjects, mostly concerned with health, and they couldn’t have been more helpful and patient. As a group we were quite diverse but we gelled very well and I will remember everyone with real fondness and gratitude.

Fabulous retreat

I liked everything about this retreat- the yoga in particular was first class. Great input on wellness, life coaching and lots of ideas for the road ahead. Lovely team and lovely people on the retreat

Had an amazing time!

The location, the atmosphere and hosts were amazing and I truly enjoyed my time at the retreat. We had lovely breakfast and lunch every day and the company was great. We also had enough free time just to relax and stay at the pool. Didn't want to leave ! :)

Best Time

I highly recommend this retreat. There is a lovely welcoming vibe in the villa and the relaxed atmosphere is so positive. The food, accommodation, pool and facilities are all great but it is the people that made it. I made some great friends and stayed on a few days it was that good!

The programme is completely flexible so you can go at your own pace. I had some very active days and some days that I chilled which is exactly what I wanted. Simone’s a brilliant yoga teacher, I learned loads and went over not too experienced. That was my first time doing meditation and really enjoyed it. Nix goes above and beyond for her guests, nothing is too much trouble. She has so much energy and enthusiasm and is always available for nutrition, wellbeing advice and good fun! It exceeded my expectations, I will 100% go back.

Lovin' the Burn

Yoga practice throughout weekend and the extra special Ashtanga fuller experience on day 3. Energy and enthusiasm of staff. Openness and relaxed relationship with staff and clients. Area of outstanding beauty to walk, unwind and enjoy with group and by yourself. Conversations with like minded people and acceptance of lifestyle choices, interest, curiosity and free from judgement of personal preferences. Gorgeous surroundings and accommodation. Extra effort to accommodate vegan, gluten free diets, on site meals excellent. Lucked out with the weather!!

Time for Me - Because You’re Worth It! (Thanks L’Oreal)

The holistic approach was exactly what I was looking for & the weekend was perfect. From the moment I arrived & walked through the door I was made to feel totally welcomed & nothing was too much trouble.

The yoga was challenging - & this was what I needed - but Simone was so good at building my confidence & correcting gently - exactly what I wanted as I tend to learn yoga on my own & knew that my postures needed tweaking. Learning relaxation & meditation was really helpful & hints to empty the flitting thoughts were very useful!

The well-being & nutrition sessions with Nix were excellent too, as she has a huge amount of knowledge & freely gives out so much information both for individuals & the group. Nix is also a brilliant cook, ably assisted by Simone & Sandra, so the food was totally delicious & nourishing.

Sandra is an expert masseur & great fun, so the massage sessions made my body feel wonderful & unknotted, but the accompanying laughter was good for the soul!

Sarah came to introduce us to mindfulness & was extremely intuitive and helpful with the one-to-one session afterwards. I feel I have moved forward & sorted some unresolved issues that were always lying just beneath the surface.

The venue couldn’t have been better situated in beautiful grounds with stunning walks. It was a pleasure meeting & sharing the weekend & getting to know the other participants - & enjoying Scottish sunshine!

Oh so good for me!

The team of instructors are fantastic-they all work together so well, making everything run smoothly. The different segments of the retreat were nicely planned and I could do as much or as little as I felt in that moment. Personally the retreat was all about spending time on me - widening my experiences about healthy food, encouraging a healthy mind and a healthy body. I received a massage which was the best ever - fixing a niggly shouder of mine. I didn’t feel as if I was missing out or limited by the vegetarian food provided either- it was just so tasty!
