Online Yoga Teacher Training

TAYSP offers this 200-hour Ashtanga yoga teacher training course which takes four weeks and where students get detailed knowledge of all aspects of teaching beginner and experienced Ashtanga yoga practitioners. This course includes daily Ashtanga Vinyasa practice, breathing exercises, pranayama, Yoga Nidra, art of adjustment, meditations, introduction to shatkarmas, ancient yoga text studies, Indian philosophy, anatomy, yoga therapy, teaching ethic, and methodology.

Pre-application requirements

Any level of Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga practitioner is preferable. However, it is not necessary, more important is an open mind and eager to learn. You should be in good physical condition. The course is a very demanding program with at least six to eight hours daily. Therefore, TAYSP advises you to maintain daily Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga practice before the course starts. You will need to prepare a yoga mat, a device to connect to the internet and be able to watch the live sessions, and a stable internet connection.

Certifications

Students who complete their training before December 31st, 2021 are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®).

How the training works

The course consists of 132 contact hours and 68 non-contact hours. Live sessions are from Monday to Saturday as Sunday is off. Hence, you have six days a week online live studies with leading teachers and also you will be supplied with materials for self-studies and practice during your free time. These unique materials will constitute daily non-contact hours.

You are required to allocate your time for the art of adjustment training using the video materials daily at least one hour a day and are advised to allocate time for Yoga Nidra practice using the recordings at least three times a week. Every week, you will be given homework to do. It includes reading, memorizing, writing, designing yoga class programs, etc. They have dates set to keep everything organized, but they are open-minded for a more flexible schedule for the need of the group if required.
