The hotel in which you will stay during this retreat is named after Nireus, king of the island Symi and one of the Achaean leaders in the Trojan War. He was renowned for his outstanding beauty, being described as the second most handsome man in the Greek camp after Achilles. Like its namesake, the Nireus Hotel enjoys equal beauty.
The hotel is perfectly situated on the harbor with stunning views across the bay and only minutes away from the ferry port and numerous restaurants. The view from the terrace is simply sensational. Sit back and relax with a glass of chilled wine as you watch the boats sail out in the morning and return in the evening when the sun disappears over the horizon.
The hotel is facilitated with a magnificent swimming pool, is recently renovated while maintaining its neo-classical style, and enjoys an unrivaled position on the waterfront. Nireus hotel has private and double rooms with a serene view of the sea or a stunning view of the town and garden.
During this retreat, you can choose to join the daily yoga and meditation sessions in the morning and evening and participate in the specially organized adventurous excursions and tours.

Arrive at the beautiful island of Symi and check in to your waterfront accommodation. In the late afternoon, you can choose to join the gentle stretch session of half an hour to help your body iron out the kinks from your travel. In the evening, you will have the space to unwind from your journey and meet for nibbles and drinks on the hotel’s harbor front patio.
Wake up feeling refreshed, you can choose to join the morning mindfulness and yoga practice before breakfast. The morning will be yours to ease into before meeting for a welcome lunch at the hotel. In the afternoon, you can explore the town, relax by the water, and take some time for yourself before participating in the evening mindfulness and yoga session. This day will end with an enjoyable dinner and a Bouzoukia night.
In the morning, you can choose to join the morning mindfulness and yoga practice before breakfast. The day will be yours to continue, exploring and relaxing before meeting for an afternoon cultural activity like an archaeological and historical tour. You can then choose to join the evening meditation and yoga and then of course enjoy the night with your own activities.
You will start your day as you do any other, with the choice to join the morning mindfulness and yoga practice before breakfast. After this, there will be a boat excursion around the island, where you can enjoy the amazing scenery. There will also be a stop for you to swim at the secret beaches dotted around the island. Lunch will take place on the boat. You will get back into town in the afternoon and you will be free to relax and enjoy your evening with your own activities.
As usual, you can choose to start the day with the morning mindfulness and yoga practice before breakfast. Afterwards, there will be a morning excursion to the famous Archangel Michael Panormitis monastery. You will have your private time until later in the afternoon for an enjoyable cultural activity. Of course you can then choose to join the evening meditation and yoga before enjoying the night with your own activities.
Your day begins as usual, with mindfulness and yoga practice before breakfast. It is then scheduled to travel to the beach, where you can swim, sunbathe, read, relax, snorkel, and play however you prefer. In the afternoon, you can choose to attend the cooking class where you will learn how to make one of the local traditional foods. In the late afternoon, you can again choose to join the meditation and yoga session, before joining the group for dinner on the beach where you will enjoy a traditional Greek spit roast.
After you have greeted the day with an optional mindfulness and yoga session at sunrise, you will enjoy the Aegean views as we sail to the island of Rhodes to tour the city. Rhodes is globally famous for the Colossus of Rhodes as one of the Seven Wonders. It is a statute of the Greek Titan-god of the sun, Helios, located at the entrance to the harbor. The Medieval Old Town of the city of Rhodes is one of the best-preserved medieval towns in Europe and has been declared a world heritage site. During the tour you will get the chance to visit the Old Town, the ancient stadium in Rhodes, the temple of Apollo, and ride on a donkey to reach the beautifully preserved Acropolis where you can admire the long-range coastal views, a temple of Athena Lindia, and a 20-columned Hellenistic stoa.
Your day begins as usual, with the choice to join the mindfulness and yoga practice before breakfast. After this you are invited to join the morning and afternoon cultural activities of a delicious meze lunch. You will also have enough free time throughout the day and evening to do your own activities, and if you want, join the afternoon yoga and meditation session.
As usual, you can choose to start your day with the morning mindfulness and yoga practice before breakfast. The breakfast is followed by a cultural activity and lunch. In the afternoon, you will be free to spend your time at the beach before closing your day with afternoon yoga and meditation. In the evening, you will be able to enjoy another fun-filled Bouzoukia night.
You will start and finish the final day with a yoga and mindfulness practice. During the day, you will be free to spend your time as you choose, like exploring, shopping for souvenirs, swimming, and so on. Your Aegean adventure will end with a final dinner on a veranda at the water’s edge of the beautiful and romantic restaurant, Tholos, where you will enjoy a delicious meal while watching the village lights go on one by one at sunset.

Symi is part of the Dodecanese island chain and often described as the jewel of the Aegean. It is a small mountainous Greek island noted for its peace, tranquility, and fabulous architecture. As you round the headland, you will be greeted by the breathtaking sight of yellow and ochre colored buildings.
The buildings are built amphitheatrically around the charming harbor and became a reminder that this was one of Greece's most prosperous islands 100 years ago. There has been virtually no modern concrete construction there and now, these fine old houses are being resurrected for visitors. The spirit of the island remains intact.
Nibbles and drinks are provided at the first meeting on the hotel's harbor front patio in the evening. The welcome lunch and formal introduction will take place on the second day. Start each day at your own pace with a nutritious breakfast from the hotel after the meditation and yoga session. There will be two dinners combined with a Bouzoukia night, a lunch on the boat during the boat excursion, and also a traditional Greek spit roast on the beach during this retreat. You will end this journey with a dinner on the beautiful veranda of the romantic restaurant Tholos.
All provided meals might include meat and fish. Kosher meals are not available. Meals are a set menu. It is not possible to order individually. If you have special dietary needs please inform Symi Yoga Retreat in advance.

Please book your flight to arrive at the International Airport of Rhodes (RHO).
When you arrive at the airport of Rhodes, please travel to the Kolona Harbor in Mandraki, Rhodes Town first with the airport bus or taxi. The bus fare will cost around 2.20 EUR and you should ask the bus driver to stop in Mandraki. The taxi fare from the airport to Kolona Harbor will cost you around 22 EUR.
The Blue Star Ferries service runs up to two times per week with a sailing duration of around 85 minutes while the Dodecanese Seaways service runs up to 17 times per week with a duration of 50 minutes. It is recommended to take the Dodecanese Seaways ferry line, because of the limited available operations of the Blue Star Ferries.
The Dodecanese Seaways service has two high-speed catamarans leaving from Kolona harbour. They charge a fare of between 13.50 EUR to 18 EUR for the trip from Kolona to Symi. Once you arrive in the Symi harbor, you will actually find the Nireus hotel just around the corner from the ferry docks and well within walking distance even with your luggage!
