Join SWYoga's yoga retreat in a truly wonderful location, Koh Samui in Thailand. You will stay at undeniably beautiful Villa Kalyana with an exclusive beachfront estate within a private bay on Koh Samui's idyllic south shore. The lush palm tree plantation, fringed by the icing sugar sands and clear turquoise waters of the Gulf of Siam, set the surroundings for this unforgettable villa. Join this yoga retreat in Thailand and see it yourself!
The villa is located on its own bay in Laem Sor offering the ambience and tropical privacy of your own private island. The location in the south of Koh Samui is famous for its truly Thai island feel and relaxed atmosphere and emanates nothing less than “sabai sabai” feel.
Given the ideal location of Villa Kalyana, there are a selection of “insider gems” close by that will further enhance your holiday experience. Beach clubs and restaurants are a short distance away should guests wish to explore the island surroundings.
The master bedroom invites guests to enjoy exceptional privacy in spacious surroundings with a stunning sea vista. Located close to the lounge pavilion, the sanctuary unfolds through Indian antique double wood doors, presenting a well-designed suite.
Asian inspiration meets luxurious practicality with the individual design of this master bedroom. The vaulted ceiling creates an impressive sense of space with the sumptuous king size bed overlooking the lush tropical gardens, irresistible pool, and shores of Laem Sor Beach.
The bespoke lounge furniture pieces and soothing wood tones emanate a warm uplifting feel with more than just a hint of style. The large library and entertainment systems allow guests to relax and unwind as they indulge in their own private sanctuary.
The master bedroom also features a private outdoor lounge offering chilled seating and a double Thai massage sala shaded for comfort in this tranquil setting. The en-suite bathroom is elegant and open in style, fitted with all high-end amenities.
VIlla Kalyana features eight incredible beach side bungalows split in 2 areas. Four bungalows are set in the exotic main garden and the other four bungalows are set in their own private area with their own 250 square meters swimming pool for added privacy. These areas have spectacular views of sister isles, Koh Matsum and Koh Tan.
These well-designed, distinctive, and personal bungalows feature the best in modern amenities, yet remain in keeping with the individual tropical theme of this unique island setting. The large concertina double glazed doors create disappearing glass walls, blurring divisions of indoor and outdoor living. The pristine beach and lush poolside gardens simply become an extension of each bungalow, further enhancing the direct access feel of this private beach side location.
Impressive vaulted ceilings with finite attention to design detail create opulent spaces for guests to retire to. The antique four-poster beds with sumptuous bedding and generous lounge areas offer the latest in technological entertainment and up-market furnishings.
The en-suite bathrooms are highly appointed and are complimented by the outdoor bathing areas. They are thoughtfully designed with marble sunken tubs and waterfall showers within an antique style walled garden.
Villa Kalyana features 4 individually styled bedrooms, located on the ground floor of the main pavilion, each with striking views of the grounds. Contemporary designs fused with far eastern inspiration combines to create unique tropical bedroom retreats. Four-poster king size beds are accompanied by generous lounge areas for guests to be able to relax in style and comfort. Oversized glass doors open up to the beach side views and the sweet scents of the indigenous garden plantings.
The large outdoor terraces back dropped by the pool and seaside setting creates a tranquil platform to kick back and relax for morning tea or perhaps a light supper. The kaleidoscopic sunset colors provide a wonderful setting for a peaceful private massage in the comfort of your own bedroom retreat.
Lucy had discovered yoga in 1996 and almost immediately noticed a huge improvement in her ever present back-pain caused by a horse-riding accident. The hope that she could in turn pass this on to others whilst also offering the huge variety of benefits offered by yoga led Lucy to embark on the Ruth White teacher training course in Cheam, South London. A little over 2 years later, she was to qualify as a Karuna style teacher of Iyengar yoga.
Koh Samui is becoming a spectacular ‘Robinson Crusoe’ holiday destination with a reputation for tropical luxury infused with Thai charm. Blessed with tropical climes, tantalizing azure waters, and a jungle-draped interior, the natural beauty of this lush vastly unspoilt island has fast gained a reputation across lands near and far.
During your stay, you will be served daily tropical breakfasts, gourmet lunches, and fabulous dinners. A team of 8 staffs, including the hotel's private chef, will cater for every need.
Messages and spa treatments are available in this retreat at an additional cost.
"I have been attending Lucy's classes now for a few years and find her teaching methods very accessible, informative, and friendly. She provides structure within the content of the class that is easily fitted to individual fitness level and ability. As someone without any sight, this has been particularly important for me, and Lucy has continued to be supportive, encouraging, and flexible in her approach to enabling the experience for each person in the class. A broad range of postures is covered each term and questions and concerns about anything are always encouraged. I have found myself growing more confident and have noticed increased strength, stamina, and acceptance in myself. For anyone wishing to begin or improve their yoga journey, SWYoga is the place to make a difference."
