Donosti Chill Retreat House is a bed and breakfast for all ocean lovers, yogis, and wellness enthusiasts. The location of the house will allow you to enjoy long days surfing (it’s just two minutes away from the beach), explore the pintxo bars at the old town within 10 minutes walking distance, or even go for a hike and explore other little towns around as the house is also very close to the bus and train station.

The space is a total relaxing place for travelers wanting to explore San Sebastian. The place is big, airy, and luminous. The rooms are spacious and the beds offer great comfort, all with a delicate minimalistic style. The big living room was made specially to host yoga lessons, workshops, and different activities required for the guests and retreat organizers.

The house is 210 square meters and comfortable accommodates 12 persons in six rooms. There are four double rooms, one triple room, and one single room available.

The yoga classes are based on the Hatha Vinyasa style with an everyday focus on a different topic such as building strength, building a healthy back, and surfing, depending on the group preferences.

Sunny Bregger (yoga teacher)

As her mother is the founder of the biggest yoga school in the area of Eckernförde, Germany, Sunny grew up surrounded by yoga, having her mother as her first yoga teacher. Apart from her everyday practice and studies, Sunny is an accredited Hatha yoga teacher certified by Yoga Alliance and approved by the International Yoga Federation. She has done several workshops on the Ashtanga Vinyasa and Hatha Vinyasa yoga practice. She studied with Prem and Radha at the Ashtanga Yoga Bali Research center in Ubud, Bali.

Grace Chin (the chef)

Grace is a self-taught cook who learned on the job in the stressful environment of a chalet kitchen in France. She has honed her skills in a variety of kitchens around the world, ranging from a vegetarian café in coastal Peru to a make-shift outdoor kitchen at a permaculture retreat in Spain. Having been a vegetarian since age nine, making plants the star of a dish is something that comes naturally to Grace. She has a knack for making plant-based and even raw food taste wholesome, satisfying, and moreish. Where others might see limitations, she only sees opportunities.

Ale Romo (the host)

Ale is a professional photographer, surfer, globetrotter, and retreat organizer. Many years ago, she founded a passion for yoga and healthy food and started to organize surf and yoga retreats around the world with fellow women and she just launched her very own retreat house in San Sebastian, Donosti Chill, where she receives travelers, retreaters, or any kind of person wanting to visit the city combined with a little bit of in-house wellness.

This retreat will take place in San Sebastian, Spain, specifically located just one street behind the Kursaal and Zurriola Beach.

San Sebastian boasts one of the best in-city beaches in Europe. It is quite an unusual feeling that you can sunbathe and swim right next to major historical buildings and churches. Surfers are in abundance here.

The city is quite small and cozy, featuring many fish restaurants, several beaches, tons of pintxos bars, and a choice of designer clothes shops.

"My experience in the retreat was great. The small size of the group made us feel like a small family. It was a very friendly environment but still very professional, keeping the group engaged at all times with different activities each day."

"On November 2014, I had the chance to get away and participate in the surf and yoga retreat in Playa Maderas, Nicaragua. Ale did a very good job by organizing all the logistics and choosing Clandestino as the place to stay was perfect for me."

"In the middle of the jungle, I would start the day with a very healthy and tasty breakfast and go straight to the surf break only at a 10 minutes walk, spending the whole day there until the night would set the lights off and then realize how unfortunately used we are to cities and electricity. I was amazed by the spot's consistency and could find good surfing conditions every single day of my stay, I still feel I improved a lot. Doing some yoga in the mornings with Nathalie was very positive and also helped stretch and relax, being a perfect warm-up exercise before the morning surf session. I would definitely recommend this event as a unique life experience."

"I've been already to a lot of yoga retreats, but this was just amazing. The beautiful hosts, Ale and Nathalie, organized everything in great detail and let you feel at home during the whole retreat. The food was just amazing. The location in this small little surfer village Madeiras is very remote. No shops and no ATMs. Just pure nature, the forest and the ocean and a few small resorts and hostels. We practiced yoga in the morning and meditation in the evening, sang together, ate together and spent great moments together. During the day we went out for surfing. It's a perfect surfing place for all levels. I still benefit from this event."

"From Where You'd Rather Be is the perfect yoga retreat if you're looking for an intimate and rejuvenating experience in a remote area in Playa Maderas, Nicaragua. It was everything that my body, mind, and soul needed and Ale was the perfect curator and organizer. I hope to do it again, wherever it's held next!"
