"Not what is advertised"
Rory, the on-site surf instructor, was very helpful and kept an eye on the operations of the whole place.
The kitchen/maintenance staff was also very nice although their English was limited.

"This was not a yoga retreat "
I met some great people and had a good time but we had to organise our own activities as nothing was as promised;
The main guy who was running it Rory was friendly and helpful.

We stayed for 4 nights only, but it was amazing! Host Robin ( with Mariela) were so dedicated, flexible and caring about us. We managed to do everything possible: surfing, snorkel with the sharks, seeing turtles, visiting resort island, doing yoga and the most importantly they served us was amazingly delicious food ( we’ve heard from everyone that it’s the best food you’ll find in all the maldives And the brownies and coconut cake were too good for words to describe!
Highly reccomended for everyone whether you are a single traveller or a group - all are welcome here.

What did I like? Everything, the island, the people, the retreat, it was just the thing that I was looking to enjoy my holidays.
I loved the surf teachings from Rubi, she is very patient and explained really the steps to make progress to stay on the board, he he.
The Yoga session given by Rubi was also very cool, very relaxing and very deep. Felt revitalized after every session of yoga.
Thanks Rubi for the amazing time.

"Overpriced, run down facilites and bad food"
The surf guide Kieran was very friendly and did a great job. He seemed to run the whole camp, since no other of the staff spoke English very well.
The surf guide and the other guests were there reason the camp were a nice experience.
The other aspects, facilities and management of the camp were not a good experience.

"The Aquarium Wave Park"
So much marine life, so many waves, the nicest healthy food on the island, so many naps, boat rides, and most of all smiles! The room was the perfect sleeping temperature. Had at least head-high waves every day for two weeks! Couldn't have been better for advancing my surfing. Surf guide Alex was quite possibly the most epic dude of all time, always getting us to exactly the right spot at exactly the right time, avoiding the worst of the crowds. Johnny the yoga teacher was such a dude also, I learnt so much from him, thank you! The real stars were the staff though, always preparing the most awesome fresh food and being super polite, friendly and welcoming. The same goes for the Captain, who was super experienced boat man, made me feel very comfortable. He also was an awesome tour guide showing us local cultures and traditions, INVALUABLE! There is no better value for money, waves, food and rest than this retreat on Himmafushi. Thank you guys!

"Welcome to paradise: waves and fishes water park."
The guest house is very nice.
The position on the island is super and the rooms are clean with a lot of space and with the air conditioning.
The island is small but it has got everything, like supermarket and bars.
The people that are working there are amazing.
The boys of the chitcken are always more then polite, they answered at every our request with a big smile.
The surf guide is so kind, he is so good in surfing and his tips were so useful. Whit his positivity he also made a really good atmosfere in which all the guests were like a big family.
Yoga classes were super. The teacher is so good, he made us feel reborn after the surf sessions.

"Brilliant time on a gorgeous island! "
The island of Himmafushi was beyond beautiful; calm, peaceful, picturesque. Everything I was hoping for. The locals were friendly and bikini beach was the perfect place to relax during our downtime. The surf instructors (Rod and Barb) were amazing; kind, helpful, accommodating, and amazing surf coaches. I was pretty much a beginner and they taught me everything from theory, how to spot the perfect wave and technique. Barb was also an amazing yoga instructor- she tailored the lessons to everything we needed after surfing all afternoon. Blissful! I will miss the whole experience very much!

"Fantastic experience that I would love to have again!"
Robin really made an effort to accommodate for all levels of surfers and made sure you are happy with your stay and the daily trips whether it is for surfing, snorkeling or trips to surrounding resorts. The food was very nice, both healthy and tasty! And one of the best part about the experience is that you get to meet people from all over the world with similar interests. Great place for experiencing beautiful waves, nature and ocean scenery & creatures and making new friends!

"Best holiday this year"
Traveling solo is always a hit and miss, but I have nothing but positive and happy memories from my time at Surf Yoga Retreat. I did a whole 16 days and it wasn't a day I was bored. Amazing surf, food and most definitely the best company. Robin also takes amazing shots in the water every surf trip, don't think you can ask for anything more valuable to keep after! Over all, yes yes yes go! I'll will most likely return in a year for more waves and shared smiles. The ultimate perfect summer holiday package.

"Great time surf and yoga with amazing people"
surf yoga retreat runs by lovely couple Robin and Mariela, Robin was most helpful for every single thing I needed and was highly available before my arrivale. the place is new, kept clean and tide, the room was very spacious and has good a/c, which is important when relaxing in the mid day, bed was very comftable and a great shower .
Robin was organizing each day to suit each persone preference, so if I wanted to snorkel, surf or do yoga he was personalizing a schedule just for you. Robin even walked with me 6am to jailsbreak just to show me around the spot and the best way to get in from the beach. Mariela is a great yoga teacher, as a surfer too, she is did soft yoga emphasising on streaches that exactly what your body needs after a surf, also she is very open and whilling to personalize the session on demand, I felt very calm and relaxed after sessions with beautiful sunset view.
There was a variety of food, all was great! and always was plenty left.
Robin, an experienced surfer and surf photographer, was accompaning each surfing trip, making sure that all goes by plan, giving great advices and tips about surfing and the spots and taking photos with his gopro and drone, so cool!
Robin and Mariela did everything to make sure I was feeling comfortable, happy and was taking advantage of each day of my stay:)
Thank you so much for such a wonderful experience!

The Surf Yoga Retreat get‘s my full recommendation to everybody who enjoys
-delicious and healthy food
-clean cozy rooms with ultra-comfortable beds
-to have the feeling that you stay with friends rather than just being a customer
-surfing, snorkeling, yoga or boat trips
I stayed at Marielas and Robins Surf Yoga Retreat for 6 nights and I was lucky because my shared room was upgraded to a private room. Mariela and Robin are super friendly and really took care of everything. They helped me arranging my arrival and departure ferries and quickly responded to all my E-Mails. Every evening we were sitting together having dinner and really good conversations. We also panned the schedule for meals, excursions and yoga for the next day together. Mariela and Robin are very flexible and always tried to fulfill every single guests wishes and combine them in the best possible way. One day for example we did a full day boat excursion where we first made a stop for snorkeling with the whole group and afterwards we split up so that some guests could enjoy Thulusdhoo island and the others went for surfing at Chickens. At the end of my stay I exchanged photos and videos with the other guests and of course also with Robin.
I can only say thank you Mariela and Robin for this wonderful week!

Robin and Mariela run a very welcoming and comfortable guesthouse. The activities are planned to meet your personal vacation schedule. They both go above and beyond to provide you with a wonderfully relaxing and fun filled visit to the Maldives.

"Brilliant very relaxing and exciting surf and yoga holiday"
Both Robin and Mariela do everything to make the most out of the holiday. Waves have been a bit big for me but they helped me improve my skills. Yoga has been the perfect balance with the surf and snorkeling. We spent lots of time on the sea which I loved. They also provide amazing food at their place and have great rooms with a very comfy bed. Thank you both for that great experience - I will be back!!
