Surf Espresso is a female hostel in Mirissa who has ISA certified surf school for beginner and intermediate surf coaching, surf guiding programmes, and in house surf photography and videography. You will enjoy not only yoga but also surf! Enjoy the balanced package in Sri Lanka!
Surf Espresso is a female hostel in Mirissa. It has six beds (three bunks), an attached bathroom with hot shower, and air conditioning. Every bed has a charging port and comfortable bedding.
Surf Espresso is set in a tropical lush garden, designed with a bohemian theme in mind. The front yard of the hotel is a lawn and in the backyard you can find the jungle and a paddy field where monkeys, mangoose, and peacocks like to roam around freely.
During this program, you will enjoy surf lessons with certified ISA Level 1 surf instructors. The yoga sessions will be led by Yoga Alliance certified yoga instructors.
Surf Espresso has a beautiful jungle yoga shala where you can practice on your own, and also they have daily yoga classes at 7.30 and 10.30 a.m. in the jungle, 4.30 p.m. beautiful sunset yoga class on the palm tree hill, and night meditation class on the rooftop.
Surf & Yoga Mirissa offers regular mat yoga and Aerial yoga classes. All the teachers are Yoga Alliance certified. The teachers change on a regular basis, always giving a fresh energy every time for the yogi side of things.
The reason to run their surf camp in South Sri Lanka is because of the consistency of the surf as well as its favorable weather and winds. It rarely gets big and it rarely gets flat. There is always soft, friendly white water on the inside for building confidence on specific board skills and typically smooth, unbroken waves each morning, perfect for more experienced guests and level 2-3 surfers wishing to challenge themselves.
Simply put, Surf Espresso sticks to an upper limit of 1:4 instructors to students ratio. Also, it’s important to note that Surf Espresso does not mix ability levels, therefore you will feel more comfortable with your instructions.
Anupa (Anu) is a ISA level 1 certified surf coach. He has been with Surf & Yoga Mirissa for over three years. He puts a lot of attention to the technique and he uses drills to teach better. He is passionate about teaching surf and it makes him happy when his students ride a green wave down the line and make some turns on the face.
Ruwan (Ale) is also the beginner and intermediate surf coach and guide. He's very patient and carries a smile always on his face. Coming from the reef break Madiha, a quaint little beach town, he brings his village surfing vibes into his instructions. This means that you will have a slower but solid improvement with your surfing skills over the time you stay with the team. He's also ISA level 1 certified surf coach.
Mirissa is a quiet little beach town recently put on the map due to its stunning beach landscape, many options for surfing, nightlife, and plenty of cafes and restaurants on the beach.
The third bay of Mirissa is ideal for snorkeling with lots of fish and turtles, the famous palm tree and temples surf point. Mirissa has four surf breaks in walking distance, the main point being a right-hand point break with the reef, which offers occasional tubes, located in the corner of Mirissa beach.
