Imagine yourself in the beautiful Mediterranean island of Ibiza, stunning beaches with crystal clear turquoise water, getting high on yoga and delicious healthy food! The purpose of the Ibiza yoga retreat is to assist you in the understanding, and experience of your true nature through the practice of yoga and immersion in a yogic life style. The tools are classical Hatha yoga, chanting and meditation, Ayurvedic, and various massage therapies to help you relax your body and mind so that you can experience the natural happiness within.
Sunset Mountain Ibiza yoga retreat is a wonderful place to enjoy the sun and nature in a stunning natural environment of mountains, blue sky and sea, to relax at the pool and deepen your yoga practice together with our teachers and other practitioners. At Sunset Mountain Ibiza Yoga Retreat you can definitely enjoy traditional holiday activities such as explore the surrounding, relaxing under sunny skies, swimming, taking afternoon siestas or sitting in a swimming pool area and watching the world go by. Our guests come from many different backgrounds and yoga level, range from total beginners to the experienced practitioner, from the stiff to the super flexible.
Sunset Mountain Ibiza Yoga Retreat is located on one of the most beautiful points of Ibiza, on the west side of the island, surrounded by pine trees, with a breathtaking view of the sea and some smaller islands, where every evening you can enjoy a magnificent sunset. We are also close to the most beautiful sandy beaches of the island like Cala Tarida and Cala Compte. Our huge Infinity swimming pool is non-chlorine, has a faux beach, jacuzzi and stunning ocean and sunset views.
You will practice in an 85m2 open-air wooden covered yoga deck overlooking the pool and ocean, and just in case we also have a beautiful indoor yoga room which is just as big. There are chill-out areas, inner patio with showers, lovely colorful garden. Lounge area with sound system, projector , specialized library and chimney. We have an open kitchen where you can observe our chefs preparing your meals with love and care. Laundry room, internet connection and safe box are also at your disposal.
We provide at the retreat all yoga mats and tools, towels for bath and pool and bed linen. We can accommodate 22 students, and we have at your disposal 3 different types of accommodation:
2 double rooms located at the first floor from the main house, with 2 single beds, fan, heater, en-suite bathroom with bath tub and balcony with sea view. It is also possible to book as a lovely matrimonial double room. 2 double rooms located at the ground floor from the main house facing the garden, with 2 single beds, en-suite bathroom with shower and towel warmer, fan, heater, veranda with sea view and hammocks.
2 triple rooms located at the ground floor from the main house facing the garden, with 3 single beds, private complete bathroom outside the room, fan, heater, veranda with sea view and hammocks.
4 wooden bungalows located between the pine trees around the main house where you can enjoy a more wild and natural environment. Each bungalow has 2 single beds, en-suite complete bathroom, fan, heater and balcony with sea view.
All rooms and bungalows with locks and alarm system to ensure a pleasant and safe stay.
Sunset Mountain is a Hatha yoga center. The classes are based on the Sivananda system. There are between 4 or 5 hour daily classes during the week (theory, asana, pranayama and meditation classes). Some of the classes are more physical and vigorous and some are more recuperative and relaxing. All classes are optional. After all, this is a holiday not a boot camp! It is fine if you decide to sleep or spend more time on the beach in the afternoon. A big part of yoga is listening to your body's needs and a holiday is also about rest and recharging.
All yoga classes are held in English and there will be always 2 teachers (one leader and one assistant) to ensure a correct performance and to attend individual needs. Our yoga program includes 4 hours of theory divided in 3 parts during the week:
First theory class (1 hour):
During this session you will receive important and inspiring information about the yoga philosophy allowing you to understand in a very simple and deeper way different aspects about the origin, types, and goals of Yoga. You will learn about Vedanta Philosophy, the three Gunas, the four paths of Yoga and the 8 limbs of Raja Yoga.
Second theory class (1 hour):
You will learn about the chakras, the etheric body and how yoga benefits not only your physical body but also your energetic body. The connections between the Chakras and your glandular system and the importance of bringing your practice to a deeper pranic level.
Third theory class (2 hours):
You will learn about Ayurveda principles based on a correct diet and healthy life style. During this class you will receive many important tips about food combinations and personal diet according to your nature and your Dosha ( personal physical and mental constitution).
2 morning sessions of 3 hours each, where you will learn the complete traditional Sivananda system which includes sun salutations, 2 different kinds of pranayamas (breathing techniques), 12 basis asanas (steady poses) and final relaxation. The 3 hour session will allow you to receive important and specific information about the correct performance and alignment of the asanas.
1 additional morning session (1 and half hour) of Sun Salutations (Surya Namaskara) to ensure that you will perfectly learn it.
1 additional morning session (1 and half hour) of Pranayama where you will learn how to control the flow of prana through different kinds of breathing techniques.
2 afternoon sessions of 3 hours each. These classes will be more dynamic and vigorous and there will be taught a large range of different asanas with many variations.
1 morning session of 3 hours of detox Yoga (Sukushma Vyayama), which is an ancient component of yoga not known to most of the schools of yoga today in the world. This is one of the few systems of exercises in the world where each and every part of the body including each organ, each joint and each muscle is taken into consideration.
1 afternoon session about 3 hours which will be a resume about all you have learned during the week.
Each yoga session will finish with 30 minutes of guided meditation. Every time you will learn a different technique, so that you can have a better vision about the form of meditation which could be more suitable to your nature:
Introduction to Vipassana
You will be picked up from the airport from one of our co-workers and brought to the retreat. There will not be yoga lessons on the first day. We will provide you explanations about the week , give you practical information about the island and our retreat and answer your possible questions. There will be available during the day fresh fruits, salads, Hummus, bread, water, herbal teas.
Whether you are a beginner or experienced, our retreat is designed to accommodate your level, so if you have never tried yoga do not feel intimidated, we will assist you throughout the week. The Ibiza Yoga retreat is a great option for both advanced yoga students as well as beginners; all activities are developed with personal attention to each guests preferences and goals.
The intense yoga classes will tune up your body, mind, and soul. And being away and resting from your normal routine, practicing yoga, meditation and being outdoors in nature, may help to give a fresh perspective and awareness of yourself and your life. You may prefer to take the week more as a retreat, with more silence and reflection during the free time. Or, you may just prefer to relax and be on holiday! Most importantly you begin from where you are.
The venue is located in the west side of the island, close to the most beautiful sandy beaches of Ibiza. Ibiza has a unique micro climate. 300 days a year of sunshine, and an average day temperature of 23.

We prepare the food using mostly organic vegetables and products, and since we love cooking; Thai food, Indian, Lebanese, Italian, Mediterranean and homemade bread will be on the table daily. Complimentary fresh fruit, spring water, and herbal teas are available all day. Our kitchen is 100% vegetarian and we will provide you all meals, (breakfast, lunch and dinner).
Our chefs, Monica Nartaki and Alessandra Tavres ( Nan & Ali ) are professionals with over 15 years of experience in healthy cooking. They are experts in natural and vegetarian nutrition, and have conducted both deep food studies in vegan, Mediterranean and Asian cuisine , oriented to prepare delicious and healthy dishes whenever possible using products of local, organic and ecological agriculture.
All sauces, breads and desserts are homemade. Collectors of spices and recipes adapted to their special and unique style: Eating healthy and delicious using all your senses ! They also prepare a special menu for those with allergies or food intolerance.
On the second day you will receive a free 20 minute massage with one of the best therapists of the island. It is possible to book extra massage sessions if you want to, we provide at the retreat a large range of different therapies such as deep tissue, cranial-sacral, osteopathy, relaxing, Swedish, thai massage, heike, sound massage, acupuncture, aura readings, etc.
You will be flying into and out of Ibiza Airport. Please inform the organizer of your arrival time to arrange for transfer.
