Imagine yourself in the beautiful Mediterranean island of Ibiza, stunning beaches with crystal clear turquoise water, getting high on yoga and delicious healthy food! The purpose of the Ibiza yoga retreat is to assist you in the understanding, and experience of your true nature through the practice of yoga and immersion in a yogic lifestyle. The tools are classical Hatha yoga, Yin yoga, Nidra yoga, Yin Yang yoga, meditation, philosophy, and a big range of different therapies to help you relax your body and mind, open and soften your heart so that you can experience the natural happiness within.
A charming farmhouse with centuries of history is home to your yoga retreat. Surrounded by pine forests and enriched with the wild fragrances of lavender and rosemary our senses are stimulated with the beauty of Ibiza.
The property is composed of the main house with communal spaces including a cozy and spacious living room. There are eight unique bedrooms throughout the property, from the main house to the pool house. Six of them with en-suite bathrooms and two with a shared bathroom.
The salt-water swimming pool is chlorine-free and integrated with the natural environment, creating a lovely space for relaxation under the blue skies. They have a rooftop for soaking in the sunsets and plenty of space for peace and quiet, to reconnect with oneself and with nature.
The yoga shala is spacious and fully equipped for your practices. With calm energy and plenty of good vibes living through its wooden floors and stone walls, there is a certain womb-like warmth in this sacred space.
The classes of Ibiza yoga retreat by Lena Tancredi are based on Yin and Yang yoga. There are between four or five hour daily classes during the week (theory, asana, pranayama, and meditation classes). Some of the classes are more physical and vigorous and some are more recuperative and relaxing.
All classes are optional. After all, this is a holiday, not a boot camp! It is fine if you decide to sleep or spend more time on the beach in the afternoon. A big part of yoga is listening to your body's needs and a holiday is also about rest and recharging. All yoga classes are held in English.

During this session you will receive important and inspiring information about Yoga Philosophy in relation with cosmology. How the understanding of the cosmos as a vast and infinite web of light directly influences your perception about yourselves as divine beings of light. You will explore how this ancient tradition of yoga merges with modern science concepts, like Quantum Theories in a simple language that is accessible to anyone.
You will learn about the electric body and how yoga benefits not only your physical body but also your electromagnetic fields. The connections between the electric body, your glandular system and brain functions.
The physical body is made of energy that vibrates very slowly, which is why it appears to your physical eyes to be solid. Through lack of information, we have tended to focus exclusively on the physical aspect of ourselves without recognizing that it is actually created from and sustained by the energetic layers that are outside of our normal vision. These energetic layers create an interconnected field of energy around the physical body that is commonly known as the auric field in esoteric practices, in science it is known as the Biofield. In this workshop, you are going to learn basic concepts of neuroscience in order to understand its connections with the electrical body and how to use this knowledge in improving your health.
You will learn about Ayurveda principles based on a correct diet and healthy life style. During this class you will receive many important tips about food combinations and personal diet according to your nature and your Dosha ( personal physical and mental constitution). The aim of this workshop is to promote understanding of the basic principles of Ayurveda, which are the Vedic view of creation, the principles of the five elements and how their qualities affect the body. You will learn how to evaluate the doshas in yourselves and recognize how the doshas aggravate the body and cause disease. And also know which foods should be included in a healthy diet and issues related to each. You will learn about issues related to food combining and how it affects digestion and will be able to make basic staples for a healthy diet and life style.
You will learn about the philosophy behind the use of sound and vibrations, frequencies, and resonance to heal the physical, mental, and emotional bodies. During this workshop, you will talk about some very simple and basic concepts about sound, covering these subjects:
Sound, Frequency, Resonance, Cymatics, Entrainment, Brain Waves and Binaural Beats.
In the morning sessions, you will learn the practice of Yin Yang yoga, which blends two styles of yoga into one practice - bringing together the benefits of passively holding yoga poses with more dynamic sequences and standing postures. Yin and Yang are the Taoist concepts which describe the two relative qualities present in everything. Yin is more internal, passive, cooling and downward. While Yang is more external, dynamic, warming and upward. For balanced yoga practice, you need to include both Yang and Yin aspects. Combining both elements in one class provides a balanced practice and can have a powerful effect on energy levels.
In the afternoon sessions you will learn the practice of Yin yoga, this session is a great opportunity to truly relax, as the attention is turned inward, the focus on the body and the present moment can help to calm the mind increasing body awareness and decreasing stress levels.
The practice of Yin yoga can also take your flexibility to the next level. By holding each pose, you’re giving the body a chance to stretch not only the muscles, but also the connective tissue that holds everything together, such as ligaments, tendons, and fascia. Yin yoga classes provide the time and place for you to just relax ,breathe and surrender to the present moment.
This is an ancient component of yoga not known to most of the schools of yoga today in the world. This was developed, designed and propagated originally by his Holiness Maharishi Karthikeyaji Maharaj of the Himalaya.
The benefits of Yogic Sukshma Vyayamaa are so great that even without practicing the rest of the aspects of Hatha yoga such as asanas it is possible to derive extremely tangible benefits in a very quick manner.
The other beautiful and more important aspect of Yogic Sukshma Vyayamaa is, that it is a system of exercises where each and every part of the body including each organ, each joint and each muscle is taken into consideration.
Through the week you will learn different techniques of meditation, so that you can have a better vision about the form of meditation which could be more suitable to your nature. The techniques are including, Chakra meditation, Yoga Nidra and Dr. Joe Dispenza techniques.
In this workshop you will explore this ancient science that explains the energy patterns that create and unify all things and reveals the precise way that the energy of creation organizes itself. Each geometric shape has a specific energy vibration and intention, and feeling of energy. When using them in meditation or healing, they can bring about an energetic shift in your being and in your consciousness, creating healing and re-balancing. You will learn not only the science of it but also how to draw some of the geometric shapes yourself for integrating it in your practices.
You will be picked up from the airport by one of Sunset Mountain Ibiza Yoga Retreat's co-workers and brought to the retreat. There will not be yoga lessons on the first day. You will be provided explanations about the week, give you practical information about the island and the retreat, and answer your possible questions.
During the day fresh fruits, salads, hummus, bread, water, herbal teas are available.
Sunset Mountain Ibiza Yoga Retreat kindly ask you to leave your room free for cleaning for the next group at 10 a.m. You can stay in the retreat common areas, as you need to wait for the time of your airplane. The driver will bring you safely and on time to the airport. See you next time!
The purpose of this retreat is to assist you in the understanding of your true nature through the practice of yoga and deep immersion in a yogic lifestyle. The guests range from total beginners to the experienced practitioner, from the stiff to the super flexible. Yoga is a personal journey and you will be receiving adjustments to suit your current level.
This yoga retreat is a great way to experience yoga for the first time or for the more experienced, it is an opportunity to deepen their practice. All the guests come from many different backgrounds: lawyers, doctors, teachers, mothers, students, business people, retired, in between jobs, and etc. What is most important is that they are all just really lovely people! Many of the guests travel alone and some guests come with friends or partners.
Lena Tancredi is a certified Hatha yoga teacher with a diploma recognized internationally. She studied Yoga and Ayurveda in India, Haridwar at Baba Santosh Puri Ashram. She also did training in Nidra Yoga, Yin and Yang yoga, and in different meditation techniques. In Ibiza, Lena is teaching yoga classes regularly since more than a decade. In 2011, Lena founded Sunset Mountain Ibiza Yoga Retreat and dedicated herself in teaching exclusively yoga retreats reaching a number of more than 20 weekly retreats each year. During the winter months, Lena travels, sharing her workshops around the world.
