"A good location from which it was easy to visit the various destinations. The room was basic and relatively clean, but a little worn. Breakfast and the pool were excellent. Great view! Very friendly and helpful staff."

"If you don't have a motorbike, climbing the hill may become a little workout, but otherwise you wouldn't get these amazing sunset views, right? :) the bathroom was a bit too dark, except that I liked everything about this hotel, and especially very helpful staff."

"We stayed for 3 nights at Sunset hill and it was a mostly positive experience. The room was beautiful, with a very comfortable bed. The AC worked also great and the wifi was pretty reliable. Our hot water wasn't working the first night, and after talking to them it was fixed the next day. But it was spotty after that. I think it might just need to replace the water heater, that was a small annoyance. "

"The pool is beautiful, and would probably be a nice spot to watch the sunset, but it was never clear enough to see it while we were there. "

"They don't offer beach towels. And that's a pretty big disappointment for sure a nice hotel, especially on a small island that has lots of beaches like Ko Phangan. "

"The breakfast was pretty good, but pricey and the restaurant did have good food for supper. "

"We booked a motorbike through them at it was a great way to see the island. The location of the hotel is nice as its a short drive to a number of beaches and restaurants. The hotel is located up a large hill, so walking isn't that practical. But they do offer a shuttle every hour to a couple beaches, which is nice. "

"One great thing about the resort is that they offer free water at a number of water coolers around the resort. It made it very easy to fill our water bottles for the day away from the resort."

"Would stay again, but recommend getting a motorbike to get around and for them to provide beach towels."

"I researched my choice of stay in the Gulf quite thoroughly, considering whether we would stay in Ko Tao, Ko Samui or Ko Phangan. When I saw the view from the balcony of this hotel, I was sold, and I was not disappointed when I arrived. We stayed in R06, which has a lovely view of the sunset and the landscape below us. It was very relaxing, not crowded, and gave us the peace and tranquility that we were looking for. "

"The hotel arranged our transfer over to the hotel from the airport to their doorstep. We arrived in the evening, immediately fell in love with the infinity pool and went for a swim, then dined in their restaurant. The layout of the restaurant is lovely, with large windows opening to the amazing view. Part of the restaurant is tables, and a part where you can sit in traditional Thai style on the floor on mats and cushions. We tried this the last night we were there and it was very relaxing. A big hello to Annoury our waiter, he was very good to us. "

"The first morning that I was there, I went for a private yoga session on the beach with Fanny. It was a dream setting for the yoga practice. She also makes an excellent shake at the pool bar!"

"The infinity pool is as amazing as it looks in the photos. Very relaxing and I never found it really crowded. There are massage beds located close by. Even the shower where one cleans before the pool is set in a very nice setting, it is built into the rock overlooking the view. "

"Each morning we took a walk down the hill to go to the beaches located not far from the hotel. The hotel does have a shuttle for those who don't wish to walk. "

"Our room was ideal for our needs, it felt very luxurious. We had a kitchen, dining and living area with tv and dvd player, and two bedrooms, each with their own bathrooms. The closets were large with safety deposit boxes. Robes, slippers, hair dryer are provided. The main bedroom has a panoramic ceiling to floor windows. On the furnished balcony, there is also racks for drying clothes, which is very welcome. The bathroom was large, and the one note I would make is that there is no partition for the shower in the washroom, it is designed so that it blends with the bathroom - a very cool look, but it can require more towels for cleaning up after a shower so that water does not spread throughout the bathroom and is tracked into other rooms. "

"The front reception staff were excellent and I found them all very warm and helpful.Erika was very swift in her communication with us when we originally made our booking. Bee was very helpful with us in arranging our transportation back to the Koh Samui and always had a smile for us. It was hard to leave when we finally said goodbye. I would recommend this hotel highly to anyone."

"My brother and I stayed for 5 nights and we had the most wonderful time! Staff were so helpful and attentive. The views were wonderful and we were within walking distance of many shops, restaurants and beaches. Staff were very helpful when it came to booking scooters, day trips and exploring the island. I'd recommend to anyone and would absolutely come back in a heartbeat!"

"I honestly can't say enough good things about this place. The resort is stunning and the staff do a great job of keeping everything in perfect working order. "

"To put it simply, the staff at this resort are by far the friendliest and most accommodating. Specifically, Erika, Nour, Mint and James...super uber cool people and I'd consider them friends I'd be happy to see again. "

"From arrival to departure, literally everything from scooters, to taxis and ferry bookings, they had us covered. I could keep going on but I think I'm going to hit my word quota soon. Anyways, I'll be back. There was one thing however, the photos... They don't do this place justice. ;) If you're wondering about this place, do it! You will not regret it at all!"

"Stayed here for 5 nights in April 2016. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, the infinity pool is great with an excellent view, the food is also very nice. The rooms are clean and well maintained, and we had a lovely view from our balcony."

"Every single member of staff from reception to the restaurant/poolside is polite, friendly and very helpful. The manager is also fantastic. She (and some other staff) helped me organise my proposal to my girlfriend, by setting up a candlelit dinner on the balcony with a superb meal, flowers etc. I'd contacted them via email beforehand and they were so helpful. The staff go the extra mile and make you feel very welcome. "

"The hotel is on top of a large hill, so in hot periods it is a task to walk up it, but you're able to hire scooters from the hotel (through another company, but the scooters are parked at the hotel), for 200baht per day, which is much cheaper than getting taxis all day if you want to explore. It is a relatively quiet region of Koh Phangan (or at least it was when we were there), so the roads are safe and fun to ride on, as long as you drive sensibly. "

"There is a beach nearby called Secret Beach which was great, and that has a lovely bar/restaurant at the end - you see it on the far right as you enter the beach. Definitely worth a visit and you can do snorkeling there. "

"We want to come back here for our honeymoon! We're really thankful for all that the staff did for us and how welcoming they were! "

"I spent a week on the island and stayed at Sunset Hill Resort. My plan was to attend Full Moon party and stay out of crazy scene for some relaxing time after somewhere else on the island. This was my first time in Thailand and I was happy I picked Sunset Hill for my stay. The resort is very clean and very new and well maintained, the rooms are large and staff are super friendly and helpful. The management was top notch, they helped me to rent a bike and recommended many local places to hang out at. The infinity pool is has amazing sunset views and restaurant food was great. As a bonus the Secret beach closest to the resort turned out to be one of the best once on the island. I especially want to thank manager Kiril, Mint and Perry for making my stay a breeze. I am definitely coming back for my next trip to the island. Thanks guys!"

"I need to set the stage for this review so it can be read and used in context. My wife Pat and I stayed at Sunset Hill for a long stay (2 1/2 months - from November 2015 to mid January 2016) while we were attending AGAMA Yoga. We know the staff and the property! Sylvester is the Executive Director of Sunset Hill and looks after all long term bookings and arrangements for the guests every need! Aung is the day to day Manager for Sunset Hill - he and his amazing team look after all the maintenance and each guests everyday needs such as transportation requirements, restaurant and massage reservations - in short, he is a magician! He makes sure that maintenance and repairs happen as quickly as humanly possible - understand that this is Thailand and nothing happens today! We loved our apartment - it had a spacious balcony where we would sit and overlook the Gulf of Thailand, whether sharing a meal or doing a yoga practice. The kitchen was well laid out and with a few extra pieces of culinary equipment which we bought in Tong Salad, we were able to easily prepare breakfasts and dinner meals. The bathroom was modern and really well laid out. The bedroom was spacious and I still dream about falling asleep in the king size bed!! WiFi is good considering that it is Koh Phangan - I had no problem uploading large picture files and articles for my Blog. The gem of Sunset Hill resort is the Infinity Pool at sunset - it is the most amazing view on the island! The restaurant really good, wholesome food, with really pleasant staff who love to make sure each and every guest is treated like they are at home! Sunset Hill - gets your immediate attention if you are walking!! We walked up and down it 187 times in the 2 1/2 months we were there and it helped me to shed 8 1/2 kg! Sunset Hill Resort does provide a shuttle service to the local beach (Secret Beach) and to the 7-11 in the local village of Sri Thanu. Sunset Hill is a modern apartment hotel - it is one of a hand full on Kohn Phangan! It is a lovely place to stay and the staff work hard to make it extra special - just like home! Even during the extremely busy time between Christmas and New Years, the hotel was a quite and wonderfully relaxing place! Pat and I are very much looking forward to our next stay at Sunset Hill Resort!!"

"We travelled to Koh Phangan for the full moon party in august. At first we were unsure about the hotel due to the location and with us only visiting the island for the full moon party. We arrived at the hotel in the evening after a long journey from Bangkok and we were not disappointed upon our arrival. The staffs were all friendly in helping us check in and they all speak very good English! They showed us our room which was a 3 bedroom apartment. The apartment was spacious and clean and would be perfect for families with 2 bathrooms in total. The hotel restaurant was excellent with great food and friendly staff who would do anything they could to help! The pool area was clean with a sea view and also felt very private and peaceful.Transfers from the hotel are available to the full moon party which we took advantage of and takes around 25 to 30 minutes. The location was perfect for us as it was close enough to travel to the full moon party but we are away from the action in Haad Rin to enjoy a relaxing stay after the excitement of the full moon party. Overall the hotel was perfect for what we wanted, and I would definitely return if I am visiting the island again!"

"On our first trip to Thailand we decided to spend at least one part of our journey on an island. We booked this hotel by that change of plans. And we are glad we did it. It was wonderful. The room is perfect and cozy. The manager and staff are very helpful in everything, from scooter rental to taxi and for places worth seeing. The pool is great with a view to die for. The food at the lounge restaurant was delicious and the breakfast buffet on the beautiful terrace was perfect with a very reasonable price. The staff working here are very nice, very polite and very good at their job. Unfortunately, there are some things that happened as in many hotels, the air con was dripping water and unable to keep the room cools on the first night but the manager fixed it the next morning. All in all it is a wonderful place to spend a couple of days relaxing and enjoying the sunset on a beautiful island. Thanks to the manager and their wonderful staff for a perfect stay! We will be back!"

"I spent a month at Sunset Hill in conjunction with the yoga training offered at Agama, about 2 kilometers away. The price for this yoga / hotel package was amazing. Sunset Hill is a SUPER property with every luxury you could want (far and away one of the best hotels on the island), and the package costs only a few more dollars a night than if you rented cold-water, no-internet, no support bungalows. Really, if you are interested in doing the First Level Course at Agama, you CANNOT beat the value of the arrangement they have with Sunset Hill. Everything about the hotel is great - view, rooms, property and landscape, pool, restaurant, Monkey the dog but I cannot say enough about the fantastic people there, especially Mickey. She arranged everything I needed and in the "way above and beyond" category. She drove me down to yoga at Agama at 08:00 on the first morning, since I just arrived on the island 12 hours before the dark, with no idea of where anything was. I have been home for three weeks and I miss everyone's smiling faces and their kind hearts. If you are thinking of taking a trip to Koh Phangan, DO IT! And stay at Sunset Hill. It will be the trip of a lifetime."
