The Bedouin Moon Hotel Dahab Egypt lies just north of Dahab Bay in a stunning location where the Sinai Mountains seem to kiss the Red Sea. If you are looking for somewhere with a relaxed and friendly setting with delicious food and great service, the Bedouin Moon Hotel will take you there.

You can watch the lazy, wind-ruffled waves lap the shore from any of our sea-view rooms or from the front terrace, where a buffet breakfast (lunch and dinner too if you wish) are served. On a clear day, and frankly in Dahab, its seldom anything but - you can see Saudi Arabia just across the Red Sea.

At the Bedouin Moon Hotel all rooms are en-suite, with full control air conditioning and boast unrivalled Red Sea views across the Gulf of Aqaba or inspiring mountain landscape views. We have also upgraded all rooms recently and the new superior rooms boast larger bathrooms, larger private terraces and have been decorated with local fabrics and artwork.

The Bedouin Moon Hotel hosts a relaxed, comfortable feel and among other facilities you will find our stunning secluded swimming pool surrounded by colorful desert gardens, where you can sit back, relax, have a drink and enjoy the best views in Dahab. Free wireless internet is available throughout the Bedouin Moon Hotel.

Sea view rooms

Our sea view rooms sit just 30 meters from the beach with totally unrestricted views over the Red Sea to the mountains of Saudi Arabia that lie across the water. All rooms feature en-suite bathrooms, fridges, air-conditioning, complimentary Wi-Fi and a private balcony or terrace. Rooms are cleaned and serviced daily and a duty manager is at hand to help you with any requirements.

As you lie in your bed in our Sea View rooms the sound of waves stroking the shore will be your goodnight lullaby and your soothing wake up call. Our mountain view rooms all have private balconies and overlook our colorful desert gardens that sweep up to the backdrop of a spectacular mountain and sheer sandstone cliff. The mountain represents the Sinais last stand as the desert dramatically gives way to the cool deep waters of the Red Sea. At night its timeless stone, gently illuminated, gives the impression that its patiently watching over you.

Mountain view rooms

The recently refurbished mountain view rooms all offer views of the hotel mountain and hotel gardens. Each features an en-suite bathroom, private terrace or balcony, air-conditioning and complimentary Wi-Fi connection. They also feature air-conditioning, a fridge, a bathroom with a shower, a baby bed available free of charge, and a balcony or terrace with mountain and garden view. Some rooms even have a partial sea view.

Mount Moses, St. Katherines Monastery, Ras Abu Galum

On your day off you can visit the famous Mount Moses and/or visit St Katherines Monastery. You can also go to snorkel at Ras Abu Galum, a small Bedouin village one hour north of Dahab up the coastline. The Bedouins live there as they have done for centuries and it is still without electricity.

There is a wonderful snorkeling spot there and you can stay the night there hosted by Bedouin. There is still plenty of time for additional activities which include diving, snorkeling, camel or horse riding, desert dinner/meditation, trekking, mountaineering and wind/kite surfing.

Mini safari at Three Pools

We often have the opportunity to go on a mini safari to the Three Pools diving & snorkelling site, where we will practice our morning yoga session by the seashore. Later you will be delighted by a Bedouin breakfast, after which you can then dive. The Three Pools is named due to the natural formation of coral pools, each connecting to the other.

Barbara Gordon

Barbara has been teaching Yoga for over 30 years. Born in Scotland, she started her Yoga studies in London and from there went to The Sivananda Ashram in Val Morin Canada and studied with Swami Vishnudevananda in the Sivananda style of teaching Yoga. Sivananda is a soft gentle style of Yoga with emphasis on breathing and relaxation.

Barbara then returned to London and set up the Sivananda Centre. Since then, she has taught over a quarter of a million people Yoga over the years and trained many of London's now leading teachers. She teaches Yoga and runs courses all over the world and to date has certified over 300 Yoga Teachers.

Dahab is one of the Red Seas oldest diving resorts and hosts some of the most spectacular and challenging dive sites in Egypt. It is now just as popular as a budget holiday resort destination for those who simply want to relax and get some sun, however with camels safaris, snorkeling trips, and desert excursions to name a few days out, there is plenty to keep you occupied too.

Named after the Arabic word for gold, Dahab borders the Gulf of Aqaba, and is an hours drive through spectacular desert from the airport in the more commercial resort of Sharm el-Sheikh or a 90-minute drive from Taba airport. But the vibe in Dahab is very different. The village is a small, vibrant mix of cultures populated with white-robed Bedouin and their brightly adorned camels, the women swathed in black and the children, multicolored and mischievous, are always ready to strike up a deal for a bracelet or two.

Egyptian traders and shopkeepers sell their crafts, food and wares to the growing number of holidaymakers who are enjoying Dahabs friendly, personal vibe. The bars and cafes almost hover over the water of the bay, where there are plenty of places to eat and relax after a day at play round the pool or in the sea. I you feel like a party, there are a few lively bars in town worth a visit that can keep you up all night.

During the week guests are invited to join an optional Desert Dinner, where you can meditate in a silence incomparable to any other. Watch for shooting stars in a sky with a million and have dinner cooked by local Bedouin in traditional style. People are so struck they never want to leave.

For your day-to-day meals, our international menu offers a delicious array of food that can be enjoyed in the restaurant or the pool bar. The group also generally goes out for dinner together a couple of evenings in the week to one of Dahab's many restaurants.

Complimentary therapies. There is usually a range of complimentary therapies available, depending which practitioners are available at any given time.

Massage is available year round, a 1 hour full body massage costing from 250 LE.

"I've had a lovely yoga week in Gozo. It turned out it was only a max of 4 students sharing a house and taking the classes twice a day. The house in Sannat was lovely, roof terrace overlooking the hills and the host of the house, Karen, also cooking us diner every night, was the most lovely lady you can imagine. The other 3 girls and I had the most amazing time together. Jon, our yoga teacher, was most willing to live up to our yoga wishes so there was a lot of individual attention.Communication wise, Sunra was not as professional as they present themselves online. It turned out this was the first time they had the yoga week on that location in Sannat and it came with a lot of unclarities. There was not enough space on the rooftop terrace to fit 4 yoga mats, the described optional trip to Comino wasn't mentioned during the week, the sunset mediation we had to ask for and arrange ourselves, half of the pictures showed online were from a different location, there were no cushions and props provided, and so on. It was in the little things, but added up. It was pretty disappointing that Barbara, the owner, started in defense when answering my email about these things that they've presented to me online differently. Although the yoga itself and the location was great, the communication from Sunra wasn't and that's something to mention."

    "Response from Sunra Yoga:"

    "Dear Tessa,"

"I am very sorry for your disappointment with some aspects of the holiday but very pleased nonetheless that you did enjoy yourself and that you were very happy with the yoga, location and food. It was our third holiday, not the first at this venue, but it is our first summer working in Gozo so we have experienced some teething problems. In addition I have had a number of health issues and have been unable to be as hands on as I normally would. We are currently addressing all of your issues, the yoga roof space has been improved to accommodate 5 people and we have updated the itinerary to make it clear regarding the Camino trip on the day off is optional and not arranged by ourselves. Jon had been instructed to do a sunset meditation but didn’t realise it was supposed to be at the beach and instead did it on the roof, which is my mistake. After you wrote to me regarding it not being at the beach I rectified this immediately by arranging for the yoga and sunset meditation to take place the next day at the Azure Window which as I understand you all thoroughly enjoyed. Given this is my first summer working in Gozo I should’ve taken the 5pm beach yoga off the site during the summer as it is really too hot. Regarding the different pics online, it was stated that the holidays were taking place at two different locations in Gozo and pics of both were on the websites. Throughout August all were in the venue in Sannat, which was the info all guests were given upon first enquiry. Regarding props and cushions I explained that in the Sivananda system we do not use props ie blocks, straps or ropes & as far as I was concerned I felt the cushions available in the house were adequate, having used some of them myself when teaching there. Since your feedback we will be considering props for future guests unfamiliar with the Sivananda system. I’m really sorry if I came across as defensive in response to your email, but it was in no way my intention. I appreciate your honest feedback, am addressing all the issues & hope you continue with your practice."

"Just came home after such an amazing week in Gozo. It was fantastic. No words. It was my first experience, but I can say with 100% confidence it was unforgettable. People I met on this retreat became my souls and teachers. Beautiful place, very special atmosphere, lots of sun, lots of emotions. The best for me and reason why I chose specifically this retreat, was small groups to stay and practice yoga with. We always had attention of our lovely teacher, John and enjoyed time spent together. Anyway, I will definitely repeat it! Thank you."

"The Bedouine Moon Hotel is a really nice hotel with very beautiful rooms and a great pool area. The staff is very friendly and they read your wishes from your lips so that you already feel familiar after a few days of vacation. I also really enjoyed the morning yoga classes with our great teacher Natalie. The divesites (blue whole, murray gardens and the canyon) were fascinating and I felt really safe due to our professional diving instructor Camal from Reef2000. Although because of the political situation there a very few tourists that visit Dahab, which is very sad and brings negative business for the local people."

"Barbara Gordon is a personable host. She's loved in the community, which she knows deeply and enjoys sharing. In yoga class, she shows precise attention to details, using adjustments to allow for the optimal alignment. Nataly Dubok taught evening classes with incredible efficiency and intelligence. Once I articulated my aims, she knew how to lead me on a fun, unique, and rewarding journey, using a vast repertoire of poses. In my ten years of practice, she's the most unpretentious yet knowledgeable yoga teacher I've met, capable of inspiring laughter, trust, coordination, and progress.I highly recommend Sunra Yoga. These ladies are talented, compassionate, and original. They genuinely want you to have a fun and worthwhile holiday."

You have taught me SO much and inspired confidence in me to live a gentler path, more self reverence, more compassion...I will remember this place of stillness and great elemental beauty...etched on my heart.
