This retreat uses the whole of Sunny Brow Farm's luxury barn accommodation, for sleeping and dining. The communal eating is in the Old Dairy.

For your personal accommodation, choose from one of the two private rooms in the Old Dairy that share one bathroom; a twin or double share ensuite room within the Hayloft. Or treat yourself to a premium barn for two, in the Sunny Brow Barn or Bracken Barn. In these barns, you have the addition of your own private living space. All barns have a log burner and kitchen for your use.

Room options

  • Hayloft: 2 twin or double ensuite bedrooms. Bedrooms are also available as private double ensuite bedrooms.
  • Old dairy: 2 private rooms: 1 double, 1 single. These two rooms share a bathroom (twin sinks). There is communal dining on the large table and log fire.
  • Sunny Brow Barn and Bracken Barn: 1 private twin or double room with ensuite, living space including open plan lounge and kitchen.

Program

Yoga medicine retreats are a blend of asana, pranayama, mudra, banda and meditation inspired from the ancient texts of yoga, infused with empowering practises from Earth based spiritual traditions of Shamanism, and inspiration from the Pagan fire festivals to celebrate the seasons. A space to open to what you can gather from a deep and connective practice. A space to be with our own wisdom and the wisdom of the cycle of the year.

Cuisine

Sunny Brow's cuisine is dedicated to organic whole foods, unprocessed and nutritious, without compromising on taste or culinary beauty. The great taste and simple energy of wholesome ingredients gives you so much more to experience in the cooking and eating.

Suzy, Sunny Brow's chef, has a passion for healthy eating and works using macrobiotic principles and nutritional super-foods. She uses fresh, unprocessed foods, energetically balanced, so the body can get back to, and remain, in balance and good health.

At Sunny Brow, animal produce eating is limited; they mainly eat food from organic plant sources, such as fruit, vegetables, seeds, beans and pulses, and whole grains.

The food is prepared with awareness of cooking styles, combining many varieties, such as steaming, baking, pickling, pressing, stir-frying, and pressure cooking. Refined foods are avoided, especially sugar, that have damaging effects on the body.

Beautiful deserts that are sugar-free have a calmer effect on the body, allowing simple enjoyment and relaxation.

Macrobiotic cuisine

100% macrobiotic cuisine using yin and yang and the five elements can be provided. This diet's strength is in the fact that it can be designed for each of your individual needs. Modern macrobiotics can be a great way to either help balance the body after a serious illness or to simply enjoy a richness and variety of cuisine to sustain daily life.

You can have the opportunity to experience exciting macrobiotic cuisine, or for deeper healing at the start of, or during, a macrobiotic healing diet.
