You will stay at the cottages at the retreat center located in quiet environment. Each cottage has a lot of privacy, is protected from the sun by coconut palm trees, and is surrounded by dense greenery of lush, exotic gardens.
Each cottage features a private porch with seating area and an en-suite bathroom with a powerful hot shower. The entire retreat location is surrounded by coconut trees, banana plants, and cashew trees.
The beach is only a five-minute walk away. You can enjoy beautiful walks on the white sandy beaches. You will be able to enjoy breathtaking sunsets every evening.
You will practice yoga, meditation, and pranayama classes and enjoy being with a fine group of like-minded sisters in a beautiful place. You will also relax in the sun, swim in the warm sea, and enjoy various excursions in tune with the chakra of the day!
Tara, with her 40+ years of experience in India, will show you the treasures of Goa, including its sea and beach and also the freshwater lake, local markets, surprising shopping streets, and much more!
You will sing with sunset mantras on the beach almost every evening and can also enjoy some beautiful Indian dance and music performances.
The place where the retreat takes place is outside the busy areas of Goa, with an unspoiled quiet beach, swaying palm trees, blue sky, warm sea, and sunshine. Yes, this retreat will be a very special (chakra) journey that will enrich your life forever!
During this two-week yoga retreat with like-minded sisters, you will be gently initiated into an in-depth practice consisting of yoga postures, meditation, and pranayama (yoga breathing). It does not matter whether you are a beginner or an advanced student. Because it is a small group, Tara will have plenty of time to give you personal instructions.
Everyone can delve into the consciousness of her or his body, breathing and being. Even if you have never done yoga before, this is a great opportunity to get used to a non-demanding yoga practice at your own pace.
The morning classes are in a more dynamic Yang yoga style, while you will end the day with more soothing Yin yoga exercises. Every day is dedicated to one of the chakras so that you can go deep into the transformational quality of each of them. In this way, you develop skills to work with these seven energy gates on healing, more vitality, and pleasure.
There is a nice yoga shala. This is an oasis designed to transform and restore the soul. The perfect place to relax and come back to your (true) self!
Together, you will make an inner journey along with the chakra system with everyday attention to one of the chakras. You will have daily yoga and meditation sessions on the beach or in the yoga shala (with a view of the jungle!).
It’s the arrival day. The program starts at 5 p.m. with a juice and a sharing circle. At 7 p.m., you will have dinner.
You will start your day with fresh lemon water and tea at 7 a.m. At 8 a.m., you will practice chakra meditation and yoga session. You will have breakfast at 10 a.m. From 11 a.m., you are free to explore the beach and the surrounding areas, swim, and many more.
This is the first chakra day. The meditation and yoga are focused on grounding yourself. You work with the earth element through re-connecting with nature and making a beautiful walking meditation along the beach.
This is the second chakra day. The meditation and yoga are focused on coming into your flow. The focus is on the element of water, swimming in the sea, and hydrating and cleansing your bodies with fresh juices.
This is the third chakra day. The meditation and yoga are focused on igniting your inner fire and coming to your power. You work with the fire element. You have a fire ceremony to let go of that which no longer serves you.
This is the fourth chakra day, heart chakra day. The meditation and yoga are focused on coming into the heart space. You work with the air element. You will do more pranayama, breathing exercises, and have a heart sharing circle.
This is the sixth chakra day, the third eye. The meditation and yoga are focused on connecting and tuning in to your inner wisdom, intuition, and inner guidance. The element here is light.
This is the fifth chakra day. The meditation and yoga are focused on more pranayama and using your voice through mantra.
This is the seventh chakra day, the crown. You focus this day more on meditation and silence. Moving beyond the body, mind, and emotions.
This day, meditation and yoga are focused on bringing all that you have learned together.
You will have a short meditation and yoga session from 8:15 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. then breakfast at 9:15 a.m. After that, people depart.
Enjoy excursion to the sweet water lake, jungle, and beautifying mud baths. You will also have the opportunity to visit different beaches and local markets.
Tara was born in Holland. In 1991, she became a certified rebirther in Haarlem and in 1995, she finished an intensive four-year massage training learning classical massage, rebalancing, and Shiatsu. She learned Thai-yoga massage in Thailand and Ayurvedic yoga massage in India. She likes to share the knowledge of this ancient practice and intermix it with a mantra and pranayama. She uses alignment principles and fun to bring in her own unique teaching style. She specializes in Hatha yoga, Flow yoga, Yin yoga, meditation and pranayama, and teach for over 25 years.

You will enjoy many delicious fresh raw food as well as Indian dishes. Most of the food is grown in the gardens of the retreat center. The Ayurvedic based food is inspired from various regions of India and made into the tastiest of traditional vegetarian dishes. The food is regarded as medicine, prepared with much love for your well-being.
If you cannot eat certain foods or don't like them then SunFoodYoga can always accommodate your needs.

Please book your flight to arrive Goa International Airport (GOI). Alternatively, you can fly first to Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (BOM) in Mumbay and then take a domestic flight to Goa, which is the nearest airport to where SunFoodYoga hold our retreat. It is about 1.5 hours with a taxi. Ground transport can be arranged by SunFoodYoga and is about 20 EUR per person.
