Fun Fact: Why are the Salinas pink?
The colour of the Pink Lake is due, in origin, to a small microscopic alga (Dunaliella salina) rich in carotenes, as well as to other microorganisms that develop this pink colour in salt-saturated waters, which protects them from solar radiation.
In turn, a small invertebrate crustacean, called Artemia salina, feeds on these algae and, consequently, acquires its pink colour, which is later reflected in some areas of the flamingos' plumage, because this tiny crustacean is part of their diet.

Lucy's immersion into yoga and spirituality began in 2011 whilst traveling in India. She was cracked open (spiritually) at a meditation center and never looked back. She was living in Dubai at that time, just as the first Yogafest events took place, it was here she met her first influential yoga teachers and became part of the sound and energy healing communities. Initially practicing Ashtanga and Bikram until she later fell in love with Vinyasa Flow. She loved the sense of community, the empowering feeling of unity with the mind, body, and spirit after years of not taking good care of heself.
Japan is a very meditative environment to grow up in, so it made sense for Iku to be drawn to yoga from the beginning. After a great change in her life, she could not find her place, her mind was either in the past or future, but never in the present, on what is really important. Starting her practice was an essential change in her life and that of those around her. When she wakes up in the morning, she practices and knows that this day will be balanced and full of new beginnings and wonder. Plus a stay fit and healthy. She became a teacher to share this with others.
I have practiced many different sport and physical activities for years, but yoga captured me in a way not other activity ever has. The energy flowing within me, as in a conscious dance, changed not only the relationship with my body, but also with my mind and my emotions. It has helped me in the most difficult moments of my life, giving me perspective and recognising my inner and outer being as a temple. Practicing yoga involves continuous learning and the mat has become my home, and my place of moving prayer and meditation. I hope to share this life changing experience with others.
Despite having been practicing martial arts for more than 15 years, it was by pure chance that Pablo discovered yoga. He accepted the invitation of a friend to attend a Vinyasa class at Jivamukti, and when he left, his body was shaking and he felt a sense of openness and well-being that is difficult to describe. He had been practicing boxing, wrestling, and self-defense for many years, but yoga added something deeper to his life, tranquility, and a unique awareness not only of his body but also, and above all, of his mind.
