The famous mud from the Mar Menor has made Murcia an important destination for health and beauty tourism. Nevertheless, this Region in southeastern Spain also has a wealth of mineral-rich, medicinal waters in inland areas. In the town of Archena, 25 kilometres from the city of Murcia, you will find a good example. Its spa resort boasts having been Spain's most popular thermal centre at the end of the 19th century; it continues to be a renowned complex to this day. It is set in the fertile Ricote Valley, an area of countryside irrigated by the Segura River, with interesting contrasts of landscape: palm groves, orange and a variety of fruit trees are flanked by arid-looking mountains. The result is a unique, peaceful setting that is ideal for rest and relaxation.
Alicante possesses an extraordinary cultural, natural, and ethnographic richness. The best way to get to know the places and people which constitute these hidden and wonderful landscapes of the Iberian Southeast is by hiking or cycling.
Murcia highly values the customs of traditional life including paseo, tapas, and plazas. With about half a million inhabitants, Murcia has an excellent nightlife, which is mostly around the university area and also has good shopping opportunities with plenty of fashion boutiques and interiors stores. You will have the opportunity to see a life performance in a flamenco bar while having dinner or just spending some time shopping or walking around.
There are more than a thousand different routes to hike through the beautiful environment of the Ricote Valley. You can pick the level of difficulty, the length, and the area to choose from either scenic hikes or historical hikes. A guided hike can also be arranged. The price of this activity is around 15 to 20 EUR per person with morning trips available.
Alicante is the perfect environment for horseback riding. Its multiples paths and trails take you through a diversity of landscapes and views. There are different options for your group, length, distance, and duration to determine the price, however usually it is around 20 EUR per person per hour.
You can raft or kayak on the Segura River from April to November but the best time to enjoy this fun water sport is during the months of May to September due to its increased flow, pleasant temperature of the water, and of course the cooling water will feel good on the hotter summer days. Be prepared to get wet and splash around. The company is adequately equipped with life jackets for a large group and a guide. This is an intermediate level rafting trip. The views are lovely and the journey is relaxing. The price is of 25 EUR per person depending on the size of the group.
The Alhambra, in pace with its history, has become the destination of many tourists and probably the best treasure of the city of Granada. To enjoy the beauty of the palatine chambers, the scents of the courtyards and gardens, the games of light and color of the richly decorated halls and the impressive views of the Albaycin, and the Vega constitutes a privilege for our senses.
A place for cultural meeting and the destination chosen by millions of people worldwide lead us to rethink its value in a global world subjected to multiple stresses. The Alhambra has lived, is living, and will continue living, thus making the heritage maxim possible as an evolutionary concept not anchored in time. Today the Alhambra will be a part of you, because it is ours, yours, and everyones.
