The program for the Retreat was great. The Meditation and Yoga teacher is very details. They arrange healthy meal for me and especially the organic food, it was nice.

The experience stay at Suly resort was amazing. The resort staff is very warm and nice, felt like a family member.

The environment of Suly resort also fantastic. It is a nice place to do your retreat. Very big and beautiful padi field, the air is very fresh, the weather also very comfortable.

The best I like is when wake up at the early morning, view the padi field from the balcony, the fresh air, the feeling and the experience is Great!

I am highly recommend to do your Retreat at Suly Resort.

We visited this hotel after staying in Legian. We saw the reviews for this place as well as the pictures and thought we would not be disappointed - we were but it didn't ruin our trip. Nothing inconvenienced us but it became a little annoying. Firstly, it was like a ghost town there were hardly any other people in the hotel. I guess this was a sign of things to come. On the first night we had a game of 'guess the stain' both the bedding and bed sheets had foundation & other stains. Not acceptable. This was swiftly complained about and rectified. The room had numerous scratches and marks on the walls- needs a serious bit of painting. Despite it being so quiet there, our room was right next to the air-conditioning outside units so this kept us awake for some time. The staff albeit very friendly and polite were in-effectual. Breakfast was a disaster. Cold coffee (literally cold). Cold toast. Cold eggs. We asked for eggs benedict three days in a row. We were told on each day they had no bacon, ham or sausages. There was no hollandaise so it was just egg on toast. The egg was very over done even though we asked for soft yolks every day. The fruit platter and fresh juice was nice though. There was a wedding on our first morning at the hotel, so screaming children but we didn't stay long. The main issue was that for the following 2 days there were bits of polystyrene, plastic cups and general rubbish all over the stage area next to the restaurant. An eyesore and not acceptable. We were told there would be a wedding when we checked in, and the staff knew we had a car. Although when we got to our car at 9am it had been completely blocked in. The staff were friendly and eventually moved the other cars.... but common sense would have been to prevent this in the first place. They had parking staff but they obviously didn't put 2 and 2 together. The pool was quite nice though and the hotel was a short drive from Ubud which was good. We had some superb dinners in Ubud which made up for the poor breakfast. Do not attempt to walk as the pavements are a death trap so you have to walk on the busy road. We tried it and turned around. The laundry was also reasonable, although they did try and tell us to come back in 2 days! We said that impossible as we'd be on another island by then.

So all in all, although the price was good it's not worth it. We stayed in much nicer places for a bit more.

Nice place to stay some time, to get relax practice yoga and meditation. We were there one week and had a retreat, the staff supported very much and helped us a lot serving Vegetarian food and dishes as we like.

This place has seen better days, that's for sure. It's really does feel like it's slowly going out of business. I am pretty sure we were 2 out of 4 guests staying in this hotel and still our experience was terrible. This review needs to be PRO / CON style as I fear going off track otherwise.

Cons - Shower not cleaned upon check in (someone else's hair clogging the sink hole and the worst case of soap scum on the shower glass I've ever seen), pool was murky and algae was growing on pool steps (slipped one day trying to get out), lifted and dangerous wooden planks in pool area, broken pool chairs, unkept gardens, breakfast buffet is not good and cold, no English tv channels, sometimes reception staff not around, internet non existent in rooms, very dark at night, felt a bit horror movie-ish, no tours available (not that we were made aware of anyway), stains on sheets, I don't even think any yoga was happening whilst we were there (again we were not informed), only 3 items for lunch and dinner, squeakiest bed in history (friend in next room could literally hear me getting in and out of bed and rolling over in bed), friend who also stayed received water bottles in room when it was cleaned and I did not, very very smelly corridor near our room (we think it was coming from a room across from ours that staff would visit sometimes, the door was always ajar( to be frank, it was quite odd), ended up eating noodles (like ones we brought from the supermarket) for breakfast on the last day as limited breakfast menu (that was only after we went looking for staff to try and order our breakfast.

Pros - quiet location and good air con

I visit Bali regularly so I know what standard I can get for $40 and this is well below par. I truely hate leaving negative posts but this hotel was the absolute pits.

I went there with a friend, and we stayed in a room with 2 single beds. The room overall is considered large, but the facilities are average, please do not go there with high expectation of a luxury resort. From my understanding, the resort is mainly managed by students learning to be in hospitality industry. Most of them can speak english, but a bit slow. As long as you are patient, you will understand what they are speaking. As for service, I would rate them as 4/5 for the students.

As for the room, we were surprised that there is a shower facility room, a bathtub room, and a separate toilet room. FYI, most of the furniture are wood, and there might be some ants? Luckily for us, none of us were not bitten or have any rashes. Btw, if you plan to walk from the resort to main Ubud city, it is definitely more than 30 min, probably 1 hour. But if you take a taxi/car, it is just 10-15 min drive. We also tried their massage service, and we both enjoyed it, and the prices are reasonable.

As for the breakfast spread, I would said that it is average and a mix of asian/western food. Depending on individual preference, I personally only tried some food (toasted bread, butter, scrambled eggs, fried mee, and simple coffee/tea). I personally tried their yoga class on my last day in the morning. From my understanding, most of the yoga instructors are volunteers.

Overall, if you don't mind a simple stay and you can consider.

I booked this room looking for an abundance of yoga and relaxation with the ability to go to the spa and my leisure (since you can walk in to 100 spas in town).

We arrived around 5:30 pm. No mention of yoga at any point. When I asked about the spa they said I needed to book 2 days in advance. Wish they told me that when I booked because I would have. Went to the restaurant for dinner. They removed the vegetarian page and 1/2 of the items left on the other two pages. Essentially, they had no vegetables or chicken on property. There are no restaurants within walking distance. The hotel was not willing to pay for the cab that we had no choice but to take since we wanted to eat dinner. After a bit of conversation and expressing our great disappointment, they did agree to give us complimentary breakfast to make up for the cab cost. The air conditioning in our room didn't work. We were on the 4th floor. Also the doors didn't have a right seal on the bottom so there were bugs in the room; mostly ants. Shower had good water pressure. Grounds are beautiful and we had a nice view from our balcony. Probably wouldn't return to this hotel, but with proper planning and expectations it could be better than what I had.

This resort has a very peaceful ambience overlooking the padi fields and mountain views. Lovely sunrise views from our room. The balcony rooms are very clean and comfortable. Staff are very friendly. This place is not too far from Ubud central so it is convenient. Recommended for a relaxing stay, close to nature.

Very nice location with a nice views. Suly's staff was very nice and friendly. Rooms were very clean and very spacious. Good food in the restaurant and not very expensive. Lovely garden and pool. There is free yoga. There is a spa. You are in the jungle waking up to animal noises. Absolutely amazing view of paddy fields from the pool and restaurant. The resort offered us various trips to the neighboring area which was very cheap and entertaining. They were also very helpful and provided us with all the information about the entire area. We was at this resort because it truly is a place to relax and enjoy. This place offers complete relaxation. We will visit there again as well as will be recommending this place to all my friends.

A peaceful place with a spiritual connection of Balinese heritage and culture, this is the place to be if you ever been to Bali. Wonderful location with great architecture, the place is fully equipped with modern and traditional facilities. With a very helpful and friendly host, always ready to help, it was delightful. Really enjoyed my stay there and the surrounding of the smiling wonderful people of Suly. Can't wait to go back there again.

A very helpful and always polite and cheerful staff.

Plenty of food choices at the morning buffet. Very forthcoming about customizing the breakfast according to our wishes. Gave an upgrade on the room even without asking, which was probably because of the low-season.

What is most important is the quiet environment and the nature. I would be hard to find something as quiet and in a place as scenic as Suly! The 4 story accommodation building is basically in the middle of rice fields, so you can see the gorgeous views from the balcony of your room of while taking a bath in your bathroom. The pools are clean. The free morning yoga lesson was fun!

Wonderful, relaxing stay. Very attentive staff. The in-house cooking class was great fun in our four person group. Room cleaned and tidied daily. Pools were immaculate. Hotel is ten minutes from central Ubud with a few shuttle buses daily, was quite nice to be slightly away from the commercial township centre.

This is a simple and very affordable resort which is value for money. We got free room upgrades and stayed in a spacious (and largely clean) superior room. The breakfast buffet is great and it is about a half an hour drive from the resort to the rice paddies. The resort overlooks rice paddies too and the pool area is actually wonderful. A very peaceful resort. Highly recommend if you are travelling on a budget.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights in September. The resort was great. We particularly liked its location, from the restaurant, pool and the rooms you look out over the rice fields. My boyfriend is a photographer and loved the view over the rice terrace at sunset. I went to one free yoga class offered every afternoon at 4pm, the class was very relaxing having just got off a long flight. The students also attend the class to learn yoga themselves so the class is taught in English and Indonesian. Breakfast was great, they provide a massive section of breakfast options and the freshly made omelets were delicious! The restaurant is nice, it has a good selection but we found some of the meals to be too small. The shuttle bus only runs 3 times a day so we didnt find it useful and took taxis into Ubud instead. Our room was on the third floor and was clean. Some guests complained of a bad smell in their bathroom but we did not have this problem. For the price paid for a night i think this resort was very nice and i will gladly stay here again next time we come to Ubud. Dont be put off because students work at the resort they are very friendly and will go out of their way to ensure you enjoy your stay.
