The property is filed with fruit trees and tropical flowers, and is an ideal place for study, practice, meditation, and sadhana. Suddha Anand Yogshala have created a garden oasis for their students and guests to enjoy. This is a place where you can immerse yourself in nature and feel peace.

The ashram accommodation is simple and basic, yet very comfortable and clean; ideal for the spiritual aspirant. All rooms are spacious, offer lots of natural light, have good air circulation, a writing desk, and are exceptionally clean. This is a place where you will rest well and wake with a fresh mind, ready to absorb the beauty of each day.

Suddha Anand Yogshala Yoga Course India Program

The course will provide you with all the fundamentals of Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga: history, philosophy, the sequence, science behind the sequence, breath, bandhas, Vinyasa, and drishtis. There will also be alignment and adjustment sessions for you to gain complete confidence with the primary series. You will also have the opportunity to take part in Hatha classes that will focus on hip opening, back bending, and floating techniques, which will dramatically influence your Ashtanga Vinyasa practice.

The Ashtanga Vinyasa intensive daily schedule will include two 1.5-hour classes for the twelve days of instruction. The morning class will be held from 8:00 until 9:30 a.m. while the afternoon classes run from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m.

  • 16:30 - 18:00 Hatha / Vinyasa class

Please note there aren't any classes on Sundays.

Sachin leads a very strong, dynamic class and he teaches from the heart. He is truly dedicated to helping students become exceptional Ashtanga Vinyasa teachers. He teaches each and every posture using alignment cues similar to that of Iyengar yoga thus creating a safe, nurturing environment for learning and growth. Sachin’s energy is contagious; he has the innate ability to motivate students so they focus deeply, remain positive, and draw upon their inner determination and strength. Sachin also teaches Iyengar based Hatha classes.
Shara Sita
Ashtanga Primary Series (Ashtanga Yoga)
Shara's yogic journey began in 2003 and since then she has studied, practiced, and taught a variety of styles including Iyengar based Hatha, Kundalini, Liguid Flow, Ashtanga Vinyasa primary series, vinyasa Flow yoga, Yin yoga, prenatal yoga and the Bikram beginners series. Her classes are centered on linking breath with movement so practitioners can learn to become present, cultivate patience, channel their energy, calm the mind, and enjoy the art of a moving meditation. Shara is currently on maternity leave. She is registered with Yoga Alliance USA at the E-RYT500 level.

Arrival by airplane

The nearest airport to Varkala is Trivandrum International Airport (TRV) and it is located approximately 45 kilometers away from Varkala. This is a very small, charming airport, with only three arrival gates, yet flights connect to many major Indian cities and to other international destinations, such as the Middle East. The staff is very friendly, relaxed, and welcoming. The airport has a peaceful atmosphere for travelers arriving from international ports.

Arrival by bus

Varkala is only 45 kilometers away from Trivandrum and is well connected with state buses. A bus journey may take about one hour depending on the traffic. You can ask for details at the airport upon arrival. This is also a very cost effective and convenient way to travel to Varkala.

Arrival by train

Varkala railway station links to major cities and towns, so it is a very convenient option for travelers arriving to Varkala. Once you arrive in Varkala, you will take a five to ten-minute rickshaw to your final destination. This is a very cost effective and scenic option for travelers.

Arrival by taxi

From Trivandrum International Airport (TRV) to Varkala by car is a very convenient option for travelers and students. It's a lovely scenic drive which takes only 45 minutes, which makes it a pleasure after a long flight. The cost for the drive is only 1500 INR and Suddha Anand Yogshala will be happy to help arrange a driver for you in advance.
