Accommodation

There are three cottages, so any dogs coming can be separated to have some quiet down time and all the rooms are twin beds, with either 2 or 3 people sharing a room. Each cottages has it’s own unique style, with areas to sit and relax, kitchens to make snacks outside of meal times and bathrooms for some relaxing pampering time.

We will be bringing our own two lovely little dogs, Billie and Soba, once we see how many dogs are booked we will arrange a form of dog care for during the yoga classes, if needed, either a dog sitter we will bring with us, or a local dog sitter which the venue recommends.

Program

Sample schedule

Subject to change depending on weather and group preferences.

Day 1 - Monday 28 October

  • 16:00 Arrivals from this time
  • 17:30 - 19:30 Earthly Connections Workshop

The week will start with a grounding practice, melting together flowing yoga asanas, breathing techniques, movements inspired by Tai Chi and optional chanting to leave behind the bustle of the modern world and settle the group into a week of dreamy downtime and playful explorations.

  • 20:00 Dinner

Day 2 - Tuesday, October 29

  • 08:15 - 09:30 Water morning flow

A Vinyasa flow practice based on quality of movement, rather than chasing poses, you will suspend the moments in between

  • 09:45 Breakfast
  • 11:00 Local walk
  • 13:30 Lunch
  • 17:30 - 19:30 Receptive & Introspective workshop

We spend most of our lives reacting to the environement we find ourselves in and the people we interact with, as well as reacting to what seems to bubble up from inside ourselves. By stopping this cycle and doing some inward reflection, we can discover that all of our reactions and feelings are within our control and we can decide what to do with them. We will tap into the anatomy and physiology of the nervous system and analyse these ideas through talking, movement and meditation.

  • 20:00 Dinner

Day 3 - Wednesday October 30

  • 08:15 - 09.30 Fire morning flow
  • 09:45 Breakfast
  • 11:00 Local walk
  • 13:30 Lunch
  • 17:30 - 19:30 Molten Movement workshop

We will stoke our inner fire and draw on our innate strength during a physical workshop, playing with some more advanced yoga poses, breaking them down to better understand the relevant anatomy and applying that knowledge to safely explore our boundaries. To make the workshop completely tailor made, the exact poses explored will be decided by the group and I will create a bespoke workshop just for the retreat attendees, perfectly designed for whatever level your practices are at.

  • 20:00 Dinner

Day 4 - Thursday, October 31

  • 08:15 - 09:30 Air & Ether morning flow
  • 09:45 Breakfast
  • 11:00 Local walk
  • 12:00 - 17:00 Free time, possible group trip to local site of beauty
  • 17:30 - 19:30 Liminality workshop

Yoga is a practice that often feels defined by reaching somewhere; the next pose, more strength, more length, a higher state of consciousness, enlightenment. However you often hear yogis talking about making the most of the journey, being in the moment, letting go of attachments. How do we balance these conflicting ideas and learn to walk the middle path? Liminality is the concept of neither here nor there, betwixt and between, balancing on the threshold, releasing identities and being comfortable with transitionary times.

  • 20:00 Dinner

Day 5 - Friday, November 1

  • 08:30 Final group breakfast
  • 09:45 Depart by this time

Food

All of the food will be lovingly prepared by Sal, who is the head chef and founder of Breaden. She was trained at the renowned Leith's School of Food and Wine and she finds inspiration from her African and Indian heritage as well as her London roots to create flavors that are truly unique, seeing her win awards and gain a reputation for being a talented cuisinière.

She refers to her style of food as "inclusive eating" as she caters for those who want to live sugar-free, vegan, dairy-free and gluten-free as well as those looking for more indulgent, classic treats. All too frequently free-from foods are lacking in the taste and texture categories and are often filled with processed alternatives and artificial sweeteners and flavorings. She lets the natural beauty of her ethically sourced, seasonal ingredients shine through, you have to taste it to believe it!

Our incredibly talented chef will prepare you simple, varied and delicious meals every day with all food being vegetarian with vegan options. Breakfast will mostly be granola, fruit platters, fresh bread, condiments and smoothies and a few home-baked healthy pieces of bread and muffins. Lunch will be a fresh, tasty salad and something healthy to satisfy your sweet tooth and dinner will be seasonal vegetarian and vegan salads, stews and platters.
