New Year Yoga Retreat Thailand

During this retreat you will stay either in a shared or a private room. The rooms at Museflower are located in a cluster of cottages set in a garden facing a peaceful lake. The rooms are clean, comfortable, cozy, and can accommodate up to 36 people maximum in a shared basis.

The triple, superior, and deluxe rooms all have a covered terrace where guests can sit outside and enjoy the view. All rooms are equipped with wall fans, windows with mosquito screens, a place to store clothes, and a bathroom with hot shower.

The rooms also have a reading lamp, a hair dryer, body wash and shampoo, slippers, hangers for clothes, a drying rack for clothes, umbrellas, mosquito repellent, and a flashlight. The center also provides complimentary ozonized drinking water, hot water kettle, herbal tea, shampoo, and shower gel.

Standard room

The standard room is equipped with two beds, one private bathroom, and a beautiful custom made Northern Thai-style bedside, tables, and a cupboard to place your belongings. The rooms are suitable for single travelers or couples.

Triple room

The triple room is equipped with a raised Thai-style platform that fits three mattresses with custom made bedside tables, one private bathroom, and a covered terrace where you can sit and relax outside. The room is suitable for small groups or single travelers who don’t mind to share.

Superior room

The air-conditioned superior room is a more spacious room with two separate beds, a beautiful custom made closet with hangers and bedside tables, one private bathroom, and a covered terrace where you can sit and relax outside.

This retreat is an integral approach to creating a conscious transition into 2017. The retreat activities are based on a foundation of yoga practices and a variety of other modalities to enhance and amplify your vitality. Through workshops, coaching sessions, movement and meditation, and connection with an inspiring group, you will experience a profound container in which to release the old, gain clarity, and make empowered choices as you move into the New Year.

You will be able to choose to do one thing a day or five. There will be a range of levels of physical movement through different styles of yoga and a range of learning spaces from quiet reflection to highly interactive. The group activities will playfully support and amplify your individual expansion and also your co-emergence with others.

The team members will bring diverse skill sets and professional knowledge to provide tailored individual coaching sessions as part of the retreat and will be sharing a wide variety of integral development opportunities with the group.

Weaving through the week will be the theme of transition, where you will be supported to hold awareness of where in their lives they are letting go. The core activities of the retreat are designed to contribute to individual strength and balance from which to make space for the new.

Additionally, you will embrace the possibilities of co-creation within the group members. You will also be invited to contribute to the group learning process and may offer to share a meditation, story, or a poem. If you might want to lead a group activity, there will be a time made available within the afternoon retreat schedule.

Heidi is a facilitator, developmental coach, transformation catalyst, and CEO of Amara Collaboration. Heidi is an innovative social entrepreneur with an executive background in advertising. She is the initiator and co-founder of Amara Collaboration and works internationally with transformations on three levels, the individual, groups and teams, and systems and organizations.
Ana Sophia Demetrakopoulos
Ana Sophia is a facilitator, adult education trainer, Kundalini yoga teacher, and a co-collaborator at Amara Collaboration. Ana Sophia Demetrakopoulos works in group facilitation, development, and training in diverse professional arenas with a focus on community resiliency. From over 20 years' experience teaching Kundalini yoga, she shares these practices to contribute to individual embodiment and to build capacity for innovation in groups.
Kristen Yates
Kristen is a holistic life and health coach, a certified yoga teacher, a Reiki practitioner, and an Ayurvedic lifestyle teacher. Kristen is an integrative coach, a yoga teacher, and a creative facilitator on a mission to help people to ignite their light within and express themselves freely and authentically in the world.
Stephanie Lisa Kelly
Stephanie is a psychologist, a coach, facilitator, "Way of Council" practitioner, and a flower essence therapist. She helps women to live more embodied, empowered, and delicious lives. She is also a restless creative, passionate instigator, bold adventurer, wild-hearted dreamer, and an international vagabond. She hosts workshops and retreats on self-expression, power, and freedom. She facilitates transformational containers at meetings, conferences, and other events.

Retreat location

This retreat will be held at Museflower Retreat Center in Chiang Rai, Thailand. The tranquil retreat is nestled in a gentle wooded area surrounded by scenic lakes and lush rice fields. Located in Thailand’s far north in the Golden Triangle where the border meets Myanmar and Laos, Chiang Rai is a lovely place to explore Thailand’s exotic hill tribe cultures, beautiful Lanna (northern Thai) temples, arts and crafts, and go trekking by foot or elephant in the misty green hills.

During this retreat you will be served three daily delicious vegetarian meals. The center offers delicious, organic lacto/ovo vegetarian food with buffet style dining. Fresh produce is picked straight from their own on-site Aquaponics system and organic garden, and they also source locally as much as possible. The also offer complimentary ozonized, chemical-free pure drinking water, herbal teas, and healthy fruit snacks throughout the day. Vegan cuisine is available upon request.

Back and shoulder massage

Relieve stiffness from your back and shoulder with this reviving upper body massage. Finish with a face and scalp massage for complete relaxation.

Cupping massage

This unique and effective healing massage, combines ancient Chinese natural healing and Western touch. You may begin with a relaxing aromatic massage to warm and relax tired muscles, followed by fire cupping along the meridian lines to help draw out toxins and stimulate a free flow of energy within your body.

Detoxifying green clay wrap

This treatment begins pampering your skin with a gentle and cleansing Himalayan crystal pink salt exfoliation and then allow your body to detoxify with the application of green clay to draw out impurities. You will finish with an application of body moisturizer scented with a signature blend.

Dried mangosteen peel body scrub

Mangosteen, known as the “queen of the tropical fruits”, contains a high amount of anti-oxidants to help repair and prevent further damage to skin cells. This natural Thai spa treatment uses dried mangosteen peel powder mixed with honey for a gentle body exfoliation followed by a kefir (fermented milk) splash for softening the skin. You will finish with an application of body moisturizer scented with a signature blend.

Foot acupressure

One of the most popular Thai spa treatments, foot massage kneads the reflex points on the feet that correspond to every organ and gland in the body. You may begin with a foot soak and a shoulder massage to release tension then enjoy the gentle healing of foot massage stimulation of the autonomic nervous, lymphatic, and circulation systems. This is ideal to improve circulation and help tired feet to recuperate.

Himalayan black salt body scrub

“Kala Namak”, or Himalayan black salt has been used in Ayurvedic medicine as a cooling spice to aid digestion. It is rich in iron and minerals and this salt contains a distinct sulphur flavor. Tamarind paste, fresh ginger, and coconut oil are mixed with black salt to create a rich body scrub, which helps to stimulate blood circulation and maintain a healthy pH balance for the skin.

Himalayan crystal pink salt body peel

This treatment is ideal for detoxifying. Himalayan crystal pink salt and oil are applied on the whole body and then the therapist will wrap and cover your body allowing the Himalayan crystal pink salt’s rich 84 minerals to recharge your body cells, restore skin moisture, and leave you with a feeling relaxed, fresh, and light.

Enriched with about 84 essential minerals, this ionic salt is the result of the accumulation of the substances on rock salt over a million years. The Himalayan pink salt body scrub is infused with rose essential oil and honey, improving the skin texture and hydrating while calming the mind. You will finish with an application of body moisturizer scented with a signature blend.

Indian head massage

Inspired by the traditional “Champissage” from India, this treatment combines both gentle and stimulating techniques on the upper back, shoulders, neck, and scalp to improve blood flow and relieve stress. Coconut oil is used to nourish the hair and scalp.

Lunar massage

This full body signature massage includes a pampering facial and scalp massage. With your choice of aromatherapy oil and gentle slow stroking movements, this treatment allows your body and mind to immerse in a harmonic state once again. Also suitable for children and pregnant guests.

Solar massage

This is the best spa treatment to revitalize your body with this integrative style of full-body signature massage, combining Oriental and Western techniques. With your choice of aromatherapy oil, the therapist will use different movements, stretching and acupressure to awaken the energy flow of your body again.

Star massage

You may begin with a spa consultation to let them know what pressure you prefer, what area you would like to concentrate on, and select your own aromatherapy oil that best caters to your need. The therapists will use natural Thai spa techniques along with their instinct to tune into your body and energy incorporating their own unique style in this signature massage treatment.

Thai herbal massage

Combining traditional Thai massage with the use of freshly made Thai heated herbal compresses, this natural Thai spa treatment helps to improve blood circulation, ease aches, and re-energize the whole being.

Thai massage

The Thai massage uses pressure points and gentle body stretching to re-awaken the body’s energy flow by stimulating the meridians (energy channels). This treatment is practiced fully-clothed and without oil.

How to get there

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Chiang Rai International Airport (CEI). Airport transportation can be arranged with Museflower Retreat Center for an additional cost.

Arrival by bus

Normally, a bus ride takes about three hours from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai. The new bus terminal number two is about 20 kilometers from the center.

Arrival by taxi

From the Chiang Rai International Airport (CEI) you can take a taxi to the retreat center. The trip is approximately 30 minutes and 20 USD per person.

Cancellation Policy

  • The deposit is fully refundable if the booking is cancelled up to 2 days before the arrival date.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid on arrival.
