Rhodes is the largest of the Dodecanese islands and also the island group's historical capital. The principal town of the island is Rhodes. Historically, Rhodes was famous worldwide for the "Colossus of Rhodes" - one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. Rhodes is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe combining green hills, reach green valleys, golden beaches, and sightseeing.
The Medieval Old Town has been declared a World Heritage Site. It is the result of different architectures belonging to various historic eras, predominantly those of the Knight's of Saint John. Outside the walls is the New Town, also very impressive.
There will be provided a traditional Greek breakfast of fresh Greek yogurt, eggs, freshly harvested local forest honey, fruits, rusk, together with three group dinner in the Old Town of Rhodes and a free sampling of peasant Greek food-the Greek "cucina povera"(poor man's kitchen).

The fortress of the Saint Nicholas, the Church of Evaggelismos, the Aquarium, and the New Market are some of the sites you should also not miss. There are also two main routes for those wishing to visit the most worthwhile sights and monuments of Rhodes one follows the Eastern Coast of the island through Lindos and down to Katavia, and the other route along the West Coast , through Ialysos and ancient Kamiros. Sunbathing and swimming are also something not to be missed.
