Payal Biyani

Self Taught (Indian)

Payal is a home cook, occasional writer, and occasional painter. She and her husband, Anurag, whose passion is travel, have combined the two best things in the world, travel and food, and created a tailored tour for world tourists that makes them discover the real India through its food heritage. They are a travel and food enthusiast family and love to wander to different places, just to experience its food and cultural heritage. There is nothing professional about them. They are foodies, travelers, and now hosts too.

A sublime experience at Srihara Bed and Breakfast in Jaipur .

CONS Cons: There were no negatives.

PROS Pros: Staying with Payal and her family in Jaipur was a wonderful, life enhancing experince. The facilities were excellent, the food delicious and the atmosphere delightful. The warmth of our host combined with her passions for food, people and her city made this a memorable and valuable experience. Seeing the city through the eyes of a local, joining her on a tour of her favourite market stalls and sampling street food with her made Jaipur come alive. Cooking with Payal was a joy and the supplementary information she imparted during our informal discussions will be re,embered forever. We look forward to a return visit in the not too distant future.

"We had a great stay at the B&B. Payal is a great host and can’t do enough for you. She organises things around what you want rather than having a fixed agenda, which made the stay really relaxed. I would recommend Srihara to anyone that wants a relaxed break in a nice quiet family home. I would rate the experience as being a 10. "

"Where do I start?!? From the start Payal gave us such a warm welcome, Srihara felt like a home from home. The organisation of excursions and meals was discussed with us so we could plan our day and factor in some relaxation time. The rooftop yoga was the perfect way to start the day, Payals cooking and cookery class were just wonderful. All in all, a natural host with a lovely, comfortable home. Missing it already!"

"We had a very pleasant stay in Jaipur with Payal. We especially enjoyed her cooking class, the trip to the spice and vegetable market and the street food tour. She is very knowledgeable about Indian food and is a great host. The home is nicely equipped and a pleasant place to stay. Her family is very welcoming and it's nice to enjoy a family atmosphere during the trip: it offers respite from the chaos of the old city. The yoga element was less of a focus than we expected, but the culinary part more than made up for it."

"Staying at Srihara made our stay in Jaipur. Our host Payal is so generous with her time and nothing is too much. We did a cooking course with her and then spent an afternoon with her showing us the best places to shop. The rooms are clean and very comfortable. A great choice to stay"

"Loved, loved, loved my stay at Payal's. The room is beautiful and in a great location but it is Payal herself that makes the stay so wonderful. She is knowledgeable, kind and a great cook! We did her Spice & Street Food Tour and just loved it! We will be travelling back that way and plan to stay with her again. I highly recommend staying at the Srihara Bed & Breakfast!"

"Great accommodation and amazing hosts! I definitely recommend it! The rooms were large and clean and the showers worked perfectly! The food were so yummy! I will definitely return :) Payal is a lovely lady and very helpful. She gave us lots of tips about the Jaipur and was always available for specific requests. Make sure you do the evening food tour. That's completely amazing! Thanks for everything ;)"

"We stayed here both to visit the city and to learn about local cooking. We had a driver who took us where we wanted to go, but the location is quite a long way out of the center. There is a metro station nearby that would get you to the center, but we did not use it. The culinary experience offered was excellent. We were taken to local shops to buy the ingredients and were able to ask many questions about those, which were unfamiliar."

"We then helped with the cooking and were making notes on the many tips offered. Our host was well-informed and a capable instructor. There was also another lady who helped and did a lot of the preparation. We had a wonderful time. I would recommend both the rooms, the food, and the cooking class."

"Payal shows her warmth and love through her food. She really does delight in sharing it with you. The food tour was perfect. Local and informative. I am sure we will meet again and hope one day, they will stay with us, so we can reciprocate their hospitality. Srihara is a little awkward for taxis to find, but Payal was on the end of the phone to give directions."

"We really enjoyed our time at Srihari. The room was very comfortable and clean with free Wi-Fi. This home based accommodation is in the suburbs of Jaipur and it was nice to spend time in a normal residential area rather than a hotel area. The bed and breakfast is not far from the center of Jaipur only costs about 4 to 5 USD by auto rickshaw to travel backwards and forwards. The house is just a few minutes-walk behind the Vivek Vihar metro station so it very accessible by public transport."

"There is a lovely rooftop area where good views of the surrounding area can be had. A very pleasant place to sit in the evening. We were there for Diwali and it was a great vantage point to watch the huge amount of fireworks. The highlight of the bed and breakfast is Payal who runs the place. She (and her family) are very nice people who are happy to help with advice. On Diwali night, Payal prepared us a beautiful meal. Payal is a great cook and offers cooking lessons should you desire. I would be happy to recommend this facility to anyone looking for a lovely and relaxing stay."

"Superb accommodation in Jaipur. I stayed at Srihara two nights and it's the closest you can get to the comfort of your own home. Modern spotless clean accommodation and facilities, awesome home cooked meals, free Wi-Fi and a host who is a perfectionist! Payal gave me wonderful advice for my Rajasthan road trip, which really made a difference. Absolutely safe neighborhood for solo travelers. If you are looking for a comfortable stay in Jaipur, there can be no better place!"

"I haven't stayed in every bed and breakfast in Jaipur, but I seriously doubt you will find a better place to stay than with Payal. Payal was very accommodating to my family's hectic schedule. The house was immaculate. I truly regret that we only had two nights there. We did not do the cooking class, but I can speak to her cooking and it is amazing. If she can transfer just a little of that knowledge to you in her cooking class, then you'll be ahead of most out there. If I ever make it back to Jaipur I will be sure to book with Payal again."

"Payal and her husband are so welcoming and helpful in every way. The house itself is new and beautiful and done up to a high standard. The location is good, being only a 3-4 minute walk from the Metro. The neighborhood is quiet. From my room on the front side of the house, I heard virtually no noise at night. It is a wonderful safe haven for women."

"For a frequent traveler like me, a home is all I need while traveling. The hostess was very nice. It was a safe and a clean place to stay with all amenities for solo travelers or families with excellent food. This made my trip to Jaipur a remarkable experience. It is wonderful to find a beautiful place like this and meet other women travelling alone. I had the chance to take a culinary tour with Payal who shared her passion about cooking and the secrets about what make Indian and Rajasthani food. "

"I had 2 of my women clients coming to Jaipur from Canada and had to provide them something homely, yet modern with 5-star facilities to stay. While searching something safe and homely for them, on Trip Advisor, I came across this superb homestay for women called Srihara at Jaipur with posh location Shyam Nagar, which is conveniently connected to all corners of Jaipur."
