The accommodation facility is in the Sri Yoga Ashram premises at a very peaceful area of Laxman Jhula, Rishikesh. They provide a guesthouse type of accommodation. There is a small garden with many flower plants, so you get the beautiful smell and soothing view of flowers. You will find yourself at the foothill of the mountains and on the side of the River Ganga. The environment is green and clean.

They provide private single sharing accommodation or twin shared accommodation for their students. All rooms are well-appointed with attached toilet and bathroom. All rooms have 24-hour hot water facility. They also provide free unlimited Wi-Fi facility to all their students. All rooms have a comfortable bed, chair, table, and windows.

The hostel also has RO water purifiers. There are some rooms with a beautiful view of the holy river Ganga.


The courses are offered in a real ashram environment. The teachers and staff live in the same place and are always available for their students for all kind of support. Unlike many other schools, where you get a real family environment and get to connect with your teachers and their families.

This is a unique part of Sri Yoga Ashram. This is an intense yoga course where the students will undergo seven hours of training every day. The training will comprise the sessions of asanas, pranayama, meditation, yoga philosophy, physiology of yoga, and mantra chanting.

This course is fully residential. All the activities are conducted at the same place. So, all the yoga practice and theory classes will be conducted on the same premises. The duration of this course is 27 days. Students who complete the training are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®).

  • The brief syllabus for 200-hour yoga teacher training with Vedic Astrology course is below:
  • Ashtanga yoga: The primary series of Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga with the use of Sanskrit counting, Breath, Drishti, and Bandhas.
  • Pranayama: You will learn various breathing techniques of yoga including Kapal Bhati, Bhastrika, Nadi Shodhan, Yogic Pranayama, Ujjayi, Bhramari, Aarohan, Avrohan, Kumbhak
  • Cleansing: Jal Neti, Sutra Neti, Vaman, Tratak, Agni Saar
  • Anatomy: The physiology of yoga postures and pranayama
  • Meditation: Various techniques of meditation for increased awareness and spiritual growth
  • Philosophy: The theoretical understanding of yoga and Patanjali’s Eight Limbs Yoga System and Mantra Chanting
  • Teaching methods: Art of teaching and sequencing
  • Hatha yoga: yoga postures with their proper alignment, adjustment, and use of proper yoga props

Sri Yoga Ashram Rishikesh, a Yoga Alliance USA Certified Yoga School, offers 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Course in Rishikesh, Himalaya. They are situated in a lush green environment, very close to Ganga, in the Laxman Jhula area. You get the beautiful view of river Ganga from the yoga hall.

They are surrounded by the mountain and forest from three sides and a small mountain river runs just touching the ashram premises. You listen to the beautiful sound of the flowing river all day. Beautiful and rare species of birds are visible around the Sri Yoga Ashram. Many beautiful waterfalls are nearby at walking distance. Beautiful peacocks also bless us some time by their visits.

Sri Yoga Ashram serves delicious Indian vegetarian meals. The food is prepared every day fresh and in the most hygienic manner and they use only filter water for preparing the meals for our guests. The same filter water is available for drinking all the time. They suggest the guests and students take their meals only at the center and not outside during your stay with them. As they care for the health and well being of the students more than any restaurant can. Meals included are breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Besides it, they serve two-time tea every day. Please note that individual requests for the separate meals may not be fulfilled. But if most of the students want to eat some special dish then it can be definitely prepared in the center by Sri Yoga Ashram cook.

How to get there

Recommended Airports

Arrival by airplane

Jolly Grant Airport (DED) at Dehradun is the nearest airport to Rishikesh which is approximately 20 kilometers away. Popular carriers like Air India, Spice Jet, and Jet Airways often have daily flights from New Delhi. Once you reach the airport, you can opt for a regular taxi or bus service which is easily available from Dehradun to Rishikesh. The second nearest international airport for Rishikesh is in New Delhi; Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) which is well-connected with different cities across the globe.

Arrival by bus

Being a popular tourist destination, Rishikesh has a good network of buses connecting it with important places such as Haridwar, Dehradun, and New Delhi. Buses depart in the morning and late evening from the Kashmere Gate ISBT, New Delhi for Rishikesh every day. You can choose from a regular, deluxe or a luxurious coach.

Arrival by train

The nearest railhead to Rishikesh is in Haridwar which is approximately 25 kilometres away. Haridwar, in turn, is linked to major Indian cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Lucknow and Varanasi. Some of the popular trains are Shatabadi Express, Jan Shatabdi, AC Special Express and Mussoorie Express. For those making the journey to Rishikesh, it is advisable to take the train till Haridwar and then either take a bus or hire a taxi to Rishikesh. While the bus would take about 45 minutes, the taxi will take you to Rishikesh in about half an hour.
