The studios have en-suite bathrooms, kitchen, terrace, underfloor heating / air conditioning, TV, and WiFi. There is a library, garden with pool (and lemon tree) and on-site parking. This is an intimate family-run place. The very friendly staff speaks fluent English, Dutch and Portuguese as well as Spanish. Situated in the town center, it is just five minutes' walk from the yoga studio.

Hostal Mesn el Blasn

A good choice if you're looking for affordable single-occupancy and are happy to use the local public facilities - there are two pools (open June - September). The Mesn offers clean, simple and attractive rooms with en-suite bathrooms, central heating / air conditioning and TV. All have windows, some have balconies. The Mesn is situated in the town center within five minutes' walk from the yoga studio.

Following a light breakfast, you'll begin your practice with dynamic movement to warm up and dispel inertia, then sustain the postures for a deeper experience of dynamic stillness. After a break, you'll combine restorative postures with breath and mindfulness to release tension and help you resolve personal conflicts.

After a very leisurely gourmet lunch, it's kick-back time. Take a walk in the country-side. Explore Trujillo cultural and artistic heritage in its maze of shady streets and gracious plazas, visit the 9th century Moorish castle, sit and people watch in the splendid town square, reputedly Spain's most theatrical.

Relax in the Spanish Yoga Retreat Centre: the yoga studio and adjoining roof garden are accessible as a common space. There are books, music, wi-fi and lots of comfy seating and cushions.Or treat yourself to an optional extra including hands-on therapies, spa treatments and guided eco and cultural tours

The city of Trujillo in central Extremadura houses a population of only 9,800 inhabitants. Yet its size belies its cultural and historic heritage. Set on a high granite tor in wild, mountain-ringed country the city sits in splendid isolation. It's 9th century Moorish castle giving way to a labyrinth of shady streets and open squares housing the rich architectural heritage of nobility, merchants and conquistadors, built for pleasure and good living as much as ostentation of power during Trujillo's long and colorful history. Today it's a place of beauty and tranquility. A place for relaxation and healing. Whether your preference is for activity or letting go and relaxing, for town or country, Trujillo has it all.

"Manuel and Brandon welcomed us with open arms into their eclectic, spiritual and peaceful home.Manuel was attentive and considerate in his yoga teaching. This was supplemented with much laughter, joy and discussion during our meal times together with Brandon. The vegetarian menus, lovingly created and inspired by travels and chillies were amazing - each day we looked forward to sampling new tastes. The experience was one of pure relaxation, learning and soul searching. We return to England inspired and wanting more!"

"Many will know Manuel for his yoga, osteopathy and his healing touch in London but this is a another level. There were just two of us on my visit so I cannot comment for a larger group but Manuel specialises in creating intimacy. He has a whole range of experience and skills to add to those stated and has helped me in a number of ways in treatment terms. But here in Trujillo there is the whole aspect of Spanish hospitality thrown in. The cooking is quirky and has influences from Mexico, North Africa and the far east - as well as Spanish of course. The town is a delight to walk round and there are many lovely bars and cafes to share a bottle of wine, relax and talk therapy. Works a treat!"

"I needed an intense time of study to develop my yoga practice. I found Manuels web page, I love Spain, so off to Trujillo I went. A brilliant week of practice - really focused on individual needs of the group of three. The food is spectacular too and Im not a vegetarian! I visited Manuels practice in London for a review session and returned to Spain for another weeks yoga last June. I can't recommend him highly enough."

"Having taken both classes and yoga holidays in Trujillo with Manuel I believe you couldn't do better. He has a true gift for healing, and both body and spirit feel so much better after each session. One of the key differences is that Manuel employs his deep understanding of the body to help you truly experience what yoga should feel like, rather than striving for advanced poses for the sake of it.Its concentrated therapy in a class."
