For this retreat you will be accommodated at the High Flyers House, a guest house hosted by Helene’s cooperation partners: Kevin and Lisa. It is situated right in the heart of Tarifa’s old town. The beach as well as the numerous cafés, restaurants and bars are just a breath away.

High Flyers House is a medieval old town house with a beautiful rooftop terrace that has been recently renovated in a creative Moroccan style with great care and attention to detail and they assure that the place is comfy and lovely, and it will perfectly round up your experience.

Yoga and kitesurfing

Yoga and kitesurfing make for a perfect combination! Through the daily practice of asana you will activate and warm up your body while working on your balance at the same time. You will also stretch, regenerate and counterbalance your muscles and relax them deeply. Meditation and breathing practices can further help us to find a better focus, to reduce stress and to pay attention to what happens now. This way you are well-prepared both physically and mentally for a spectacular day out on the water!

Kitesurfing is currently one of the most upcoming and intensive water sports which offers a great opportunity to connect with the wind, the water and the waves and to embrace nature moment for moment in all its facets.

Typical daily schedule

  • The retreat program will start at 17:00 on the first day with a little introduction, followed by an evening asana practice. The daily retreat program is as follows:

  • 09:00-10:00 Yoga practice
  • 10:00 Breakfast brunch
  • 11:00 4 hours of kitesurfing lessons (on 6 potential days)
  • 15:00 Light lunch
  • 18:00-19:30 Yoga practice

Please note that the program may change due to weather and general conditions. One day will be without any yoga sessions, to give you some extra time to rest and / or for leisure activities.

The retreat will finish on the day of departure with a morning asana practice, followed by a breakfast brunch together.

  • Helene Roselstorfer

    Yoga is part of Helene life, even though she was not aware of this for a pretty long time. Yoga consciously happened for the very first time around the year 2005. It was not love at first sight, but she felt straight away that yoga was good to herself, to her body and to her mind. Yoga and Helene slowly grew closer and closer as time passed, and since 2010 she has been practicing yoga regularly. Her relationship with yoga intensified in 2013 when she attended her first teacher training and so gradually she started teaching yoga as well as practicing it.

Tarifa is a coastal town in Spain. It has a mixed population including its native tarifeños. Tarifa is where the mystic mountains of Africa meet the flamenco, where the endless beach and Spanish Alegria go under your skin and where the Strait of Gibraltar moves colorful kites in a play of the Levante and Poniente winds. This is the magic of Tarifa.

Tarifa is particularly well-known for windsurfing and kitesurfing. In addition, there is a wide range of different activities to enjoy, such as diving and taking Spanish classes, day trips to Morocco and the surrounding area, or horse riding, to name just a few.

Arrival by airplane

The nearest airports are Gibraltar (GIB) (approximately a 1 hour drive) and Malaga (AGP) (approximately 2.5 hours drive). It is recommended to rent a car from Malaga Airport (AGP) as rental cars are very reasonably priced, especially in low season.

Nevertheless, public transport is also a good option, as there are two direct buses from Malaga every day, and additional connections via Algeciras.
