Brother Island is a humble household retreat space. It houses a growing community of staff, helpers, and friends who live together in community. They humbly offer themselves to what they teach, practice, and do in their home. As a simple Filipino home within a pristine forest in a private island. Please note that the rooms are semi-open using earth light materials. Aside from basic beddings, they provide a fan, emergency light, and mosquito net. They have 2 shared traditional bathrooms – separate for male and female guests, with a proper shower and flush toilets. There is no running hot water, but being in a tropical country, water from our taps is actually very refreshing!

There are 2 more toilet facilities in separate areas making it a total of 4 toilets. The shared space set-up is ideal for bringing together a sense of community and responsibility for one another. They are here to support each other through openness and mindfulness. There will be no other tourists/bookings during your stay, and it will be your own private oasis.

Excursion: Linapacan Islands

Striking powdery beaches, long and unique sandbars, magnificent island views, and turquoise water – there is no doubt why they say that Linapacan has the clearest water in the world.

We will spend a full day in a boat moving from one island to another in Linapacan, taking in the beauty around us and appreciating amazing marine life underwater.

Retreat location

Brother Island is located in the world renowned El Nido, Palawan.

Food

Brother Island is fully staffed (caretaker, housekeeper, cook, boatmen, helper). The island does not have a restaurant or a menu. The chef is a specialist in the traditional Filipino cuisine. There is local, healthy, and organically-grown food, usually consisting of the fresh catch of the day (fish), vegetables, and other Filipino recipes. With this setup, the island is able to support local fishermen, which is very important to them and to us.

It would be great if you can let us know before you arrive if there is anyone among you who has a special

diet of any sort (i.e. vegetarian, lactose intolerance, diabetic, etc.)

Quality drinking water is distributed in the island from its tested natural spring vis a vis on the main land. Bottled water can be brought by yourself or separately ordered.

The following meals are included:
