Day 1 - Welcome meeting and group dinner

Namaste! Welcome to India. Your Soulfit-Wellness begins with a welcome meeting at 17:30 on the first day and also a hotel based group dinner. You can arrive at any time as there are no activities planned until this important meeting. Please look for a note in the hotel lobby or ask the hotel reception where it will take place. If you can't arrange a flight that will arrive in time, you may wish to arrive a day earlier, so you're able to attend the meeting. Soulfit Journey will be happy to book additional accommodation for you (subject to availability). If you're going to be late, please inform the hotel reception. They'll collect your insurance details and next of kin information at this meeting, so please ensure you have all these details to provide your tour leader along with tipping amount.

Day 2 - Morning yoga and walking tour of Old Delhi; afternoon at leisure

Reborn with early morning yoga and meditation session with yoga instructor before enjoying a buffet breakfast at the hotel. The morning tour concentrates on Old Delhi, also known as Shah Jahanabad. Experience the local life while travelling on the Delhi Metro train. You will visit the historical sites and bustling markets that Old Delhi is awash with. Walk through the exciting bazaars where everything from fireworks and silks to copper and spices is for sale. You will then visit the great Jama Masjid, the principal mosque of Old Delhi, built in 1656 by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. Later, you will walk to a Sikh Temple, the Gurudwara. Visit the community kitchen where around ten thousand people are served three times meal for free. The afternoon is free for you to enjoy the day at your own pace.

Day 3 - Morning yoga and visit to Agra Fort in the afternoon

Enjoy the morning yoga session before buffet breakfast. Later, you will drive to the riverside city of Agra. The magical allure of the Taj Mahal draws tourists to Agra like moths to a wondrous flame. And despite the hype, it’s every bit as good as you’ve heard. But the Taj is not a stand-alone attraction. The legacy of the Mughal empire has left a magnificent fort and a liberal sprinkling of fascinating tombs and mausoleums. You will then visit Agra fort in the afternoon. With the Taj Mahal overshadowing it, one can easily forget that Agra has one of the finest Mughal forts in India. Construction of the massive red-sandstone fort, on the bank of the Yamuna River, was begun by Emperor Akbar in 1565.

Day 4 - Morning visit to Taj Mahal and Fatehpur Sikri; evening meditation

Enjoy visiting Taj Mahal early in the morning to appreciate the beauty of the world famous building of love. Often described as the greatest monument to love ever created, the Taj Mahal is another grand edifice that dates back to the glory days of India’s Mughal emperors. 20,000 skilled labourers created this mausoleum and memorial to Shah Jahan’s favourite wife, Mumtaz Mahal. See the exuberant celebration of love and life.

After buffet breakfast at hotel, your journey continues with a visit to UNESCO site, Fatehpur Sikri. As the political capital of the Mughal Empire for a little over a decade in the 16th century, Fatehpur Sikri must have been a breathtaking sight to behold - an architecturally harmonious wonderland of palaces, pavilions, public residences, mosques, and parks. But, superseded by a new capital at Lahore - better located for waging war on the Afghan tribes - Fatehpur Sikri remained abandoned and virtually unknown for hundreds of years. Visitors today may appreciate the original buildings in a stunningly-good state of preservation, along with the palpable mystique of a ‘ghost city’.

Later, you will continue by the road to Bharatpur. Bharatpur is famous for its wonderful UNESCO-listed Keoladeo Ghana National Park, a wetland and significant bird sanctuary. The sanctuary is one of the richest bird areas in the world and is known for nesting of resident birds and visiting migratory birds including water birds. Feel free to visit the park if you wish to, at your own expense. Practice evening meditation with your yoga teacher to relax and rejuvenate.

Day 5 - Morning yoga and drive to Ranthambore

Enjoy a morning yoga session before buffet breakfast. Later, you will drive to Ranthambore. Formerly the private hunting ground of the maharajas of Jaipur, the park is now better known for its 1,000 year old fort, surrendering slowly to the encroaching jungle, its picturesque turquoise lakes and, of course, its Bengal tiger reserve. Enjoy evening at leisure.

Day 6 and 7 - Morning jungle safari, afternoon at leisure, evening yoga

Morning jungle safari drives present the opportunity to spot character full residents of this wildlife haven, including leopards, monkeys, sloth bears, and myriad species of bird. The grand prize is a sighting of the Bengal tiger - a greater possibility; thanks to the work of the Ranthambore Foundation, which has striven to conserve the forest cover and increase the bodies of water; work which has borne fruit in a tiger population much increased since 1998. Enjoy afternoon at your leisure and evening yoga and meditation.

Day 8 - Morning jungle safari and drive to Jaipur

Morning jungle safari drives present the opportunity to spot character full residents of this wildlife haven, including leopards, monkeys, sloth bears, and myriad species of bird. The grand prize is a sighting of the Bengal tiger. Later, you will drive to Jaipur, the capital of India’s Rajasthan state. It evokes the royal family that once ruled the region and that, in 1727, founded what is now called the old city, or “pink city” for its trademark building color. Enjoy evening at your leisure.

Day 9 - Morning yoga and visit to Amer Fort, afternoon at leisure, and evening local dinner

Enjoy a morning yoga session before buffet breakfast at the hotel. Later, you will visit Amer Palace, approximately 11 km from Jaipur. The Rajput Maharajas and their families lived in the palace, which was built using red and white marble with a mix of Hindu - Muslim style, reminiscent of 17th century India. After that, you will visit a cotton weaving house to see a demonstration of fabric dyeing and block printing to sample the years' old specialty craft of Jaipur city. Afternoon will be at leisure. Enjoy Indian authentic local dinner in the evening.

Day 10 - Morning yoga, visit to city palace, and Jantar Manter; evening movie

Enjoy a morning yoga session before buffet breakfast at the hotel. Later, you will visit Jaipur City Palace, a complex of courtyards, gardens, and buildings. The impressive city palace is right in the center of the old city. There are palace buildings from different eras, some dating from the early 20th century. Despite the gradual development, the whole is a striking blend of Rajasthani and Mughal architecture. After that, you will visit another UNESCO site, Jantar Mantar. The Jantar Mantar is a collection of 19 architectural astronomical instruments, built by the Rajput king Sawai Jai Singh, and completed in 1734 CE. Enjoy your afternoon at leisure.

In the evening, visit the Raj Mandir cinema to see a Bollywood movie with the locals. Bollywood is one of the largest film producers in India and is one of the largest centers of film production in the world. 14 million Indians go to the movies on a daily basis to see any of the over 800 films churned out by Bollywood each year.

Day 11 - Morning yoga and drive to Delhi

Enjoy a morning yoga session before buffet breakfast at the hotel. Later, you will drive to Delhi. Please consider enjoying the last dinner as a group, in order to have some drinks (not included), share memories, and exchange contacts with other group members. Soulfit Journey recommends that you stay longer in Delhi in order to explore the city and the people. Please also consider choosing a number of optional activities that Delhi can provide, which your tour leader will be happy to assist you with.

Day 12 - Morning yoga and farewell

Rise early to do the final yoga and meditation. Enjoy breakfast with the group at the hotel before you continue on your forward journey. Have a safe flight to your home! Please note the hotel rooms are available until 11:00 only. Soulfit Journey would be happy to book a room for an extra night for you. Please inform your leader well in advance in order to make arrangements for you. If you need any assistance to book for airport transfer, ask your tour leader. Soulfit Journey's services end at 11:00. We look forward to serving you again for future Soulfit-Wellness trips. Live a happy and soul-fit life, namaste!

"Amazing tour. Loved it. Want to come back and do the tour again but this time during the festival of lights. Superb tour leader, Avi was the best ever tour guide. Very easy to talk to, approachable, understandable. Also our coach/bus driver, ‘Goldie’ is what he told us to call him, was a great driver, not once did I feel uneasy in that madness of traffic. All in all, absolutely thrilled and can’t wait to get back."

It is a very busy tour, but if you want to stop for an afternoon and not do the activity organized, the guide doesn’t mind. Remember to rest if you need it!"

Mr Singh and Tinnku were a great team on the bus as well. The places visited were a good balance that had something for everyone. Without the tour, I would not have seen half of the things I did. The group was small so we got to know each other really well and became great friends! I would highly recommend this tour!"

"Great trip to get a taste of India in a short space of time. The itinerary was reasonably in-depth but still left plenty of time to relax or to do more sightseeing if you wished. Soulfit Journey gets you to places you may not otherwise go to or know about by yourself. The Holi celebration in Vrindavan was brilliant, a real highlight. Very lucky to have a great and very varied group of people to enjoy the travel adventure with, along with our excellent, friendly, and professional tour leader and yoga teacher. India is one incredible country, a complete sensory overload, not for the faint hearted. Enjoyed it all."

The itinerary was on point and the Vrindavan stay was absolutely amazing, an experience we will never forget. We also felt safe at all times and if ever we needed to use the ATM or separate from the group for a moment, he would be sure to stand with us so we felt secure."

"This was a great trip for someone who wants to have a little less of a touristy experience and a little more of a cultural experience. You still get the safety of traveling in a group and with a knowledgeable guide, and you get to see all the important tourist destinations, but there are a lot of extra experiences thrown in that you would not be able to see if you planned a trip alone as a foreigner."

"It was nice to have combined the cities of the golden triangle with Holi Festival in Vrindavan. This way we didn't only got to see Indian sights and places of interest, but also were able to be part of the unique Holi celebration. We also got to see the Taj Mahal under the full moon. I liked the city, Vrindavan, in particular, because it is very peaceful and is a spiritual place. The locals were very friendly and we were able to learn a lot about the Indian culture."
