This retreat will take place at Villa la Pena in Tarifa. It sits in a stunning elevated position in the La Pena area of Tarifa, nestled between mountain and sea with a panoramic vista over miles of sandy beaches.
Tarifa is the southern-most tip of Europe where the Mediterranean Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean. It is a wild, unspoiled part of this coastline that can be over commercialized. There is a laidback vibe here that invites you to slow down, watch the waves and the kite surfers, or the migrating birds and spiralling vultures. There are also spectacular views of the Rif Mountains of Africa across the water.
There are eight miles of endless sandy beaches and a beautiful old town of narrow cobbled streets in Tarifa. There are also tumbling jasmine and beautiful wrought-iron rejas that are mentioned in Paulo Coelho’s “The Alchemist”. The area is known best for kitesurfing.
You will enjoy a delicious breakfast and brunch on your departure day. Special diets can be catered for, just let Sorayayoga know at the time of booking. You will also enjoy unlimited tea, coffee, and filtered water.
There are sighs of pure joy as students sample the amazing dishes that are produced by local chefs Kate and Tracey. There is always a flurry of questions about the ingredients used and a discussion of recipes. Both chefs are very happy to share their knowledge, which spans ayurvedic cooking through to Mediterranean and Moorish dishes. For the last evening, you will enjoy a meal at The Hurricane Hotel.
