What is trika meditation?

Trika meditation is an advanced form of tantric meditation, which originated in 9th century Kashmir, India. Known broadly as Kashmiri Shaivism, the Trika School represents the pinnacle of teachings and practice within this most advanced lineage of tantra. This meditation system is perfect and complete, meant as a practical, incredibly efficient system of practice for reaching nothing less than enlightenment.

The aim of trika meditation - while rooted in sublime ancient tantric texts such as the Vijñāna Bhairava Tantra, Shiva Sutras, Tantraloka, Pratyabhijñā Śāstra, and others - is to bring the practitioner into the realm of spiritual realization and a special state of pratyabhijñā - recognition of the supreme self, the ultimate in spiritual aspirations. Despite being mostly unknown in modern times, the tradition of Kashmiri Shaivism is a rare and authentic spiritual gem.

You will be studying and practicing this tantric form of meditation and yoga with Somananda and Liisa for about four to five hours daily.

What is a spiritual journey?

Rishikesh has a lot to offer a spiritual seeker - the holy River Ganges with its fresh waters, the evening pujas (fire ceremonies) by the river, countless ashrams and spiritual schools, old bookstores where you can still find rare editions of spiritual books, Hindu temples, astrologers and Ayurvedic doctors, amazing Indian cuisine and delicacies, and surely the many always-holy cows. Rishikesh is a hub full of incredible experiences and this is what Somananda wants to show you alongside an opportunity for soul-shaking spiritual teachings, meditations, satsangs, and discussions. This is the true spiritual journey into your innermost self!

"I am very satisfied with the course. The most memorable moment was the transfiguration meditation, as I did not expect to see something so strange and amazing in my partners eyes. I learned a lot especially on how to sublime energy from lower chakras to higher ones and how to use this sexual energy successfully in other areas in life. I am very happy that I received guidance and concrete techniques on how to begin my Tantric journey."
