About Yogalates

The Yogalates method is internationally acclaimed and renowned for its standard of safety and for the way it makes yoga and Pilates safe and accessible for a wide population. The method draws upon the fundamental foundation of exercise physiology (prescriptive exercises in functional patterns of movement and postural evaluation), physio therapy exercises and yoga therapy. During a Yogalates session you will explore core stabilization, functional and regenerative dynamics to strengthen, tone, increase flexibility and enhance good posture focusing on breath awareness to re-balance the nervous system and relieve stress; calming the mind and detoxifying the body.

The Azienda Agrituristica Le Bolli Bed & Breakfast is just 40km from Siena, a quiet corner in the heart of Tuscany where you can regenerate admiring the nature that surrounds you. In this oasis of peace surrounded by a hilly landscape between forests, olive groves and sunflower fields.

The B&B is divided into 12 rooms of exquisite Italian taste and comfort. The building dates from the 1600’s century, completely renovated maintaining its original appearance and equipped with all the amenities for a relaxing holiday: 12 charming rooms, a grand commercial kitchen available for communal share with a variety of teas and coffee available to you throughout the day. We find many guests prefer to eat in the delicious restaurants in Radicondoli. A swimming pool with Jacuzzi and a spectacular panoramic view. Azienda Agrituristica Le Bolli B&B offers the beauty and quiet of the countryside away from busy tourist spots, yet within reach of the cultural centers: Siena, San Gimignano, Volterra, the beaches of Maremma, and the beauty of Florence.

  • 08:00-08:15: Pranayama (breathing) class

    Louise has been practicing yoga for over 25 years and Pilates for 18 years. Louise completed her Pilates Teacher Training in 1992 and taught Pilates exclusively in the early nineties (well before the Pilates mat class existed). In 1994, Louise attained certification in Yoga Teaching from Yoga Arts, Byron Bay. Being concerned with the high incidence of injuries Louise saw in yoga classes, she developed and began to teach her own method of Yoga & Pilates fusion; Yogalates TM at the Suffolk Park Community Hall.

The retreat is hosted in an historical Tuscan villa just 40km from Siena, a quiet corner in the heart of Tuscany where you can regenerate admiring the nature that surrounds you. In this oasis of peace surrounded by a hilly landscape between forests, olive groves and sunflower fields. You can walk in unspoiled nature, go horseback riding or mountain biking, taste our organic products or sip typical Tuscan wines while admiring the view. For those who like to visit the beauties of Tuscany, the farm is located in a strategic point with San Gimignano, Volterra and Siena only a little more than half an hour away.

Breakfast

Nurture your body from the inside with our organic menu; wholefood that is eaten as close as possible to its natural state, without unnecessary processing or refining. Indulge in wholesome vegetarian, nutrient dense cuisine/menus; supporting the foundations of healthy food and eating; valuing food that is real to heal, nourish the body and delight the senses. A detox juice or smoothie is available prior to your morning class.

Lunch and Dinner

Orientation dinner is provided with authentic Italian cuisine, a delicious introduction to the wholesome foods of Italy while meeting your fellow retreat friends. While breakfast is provided daily, you’ll have the freedom to explore and eat at the local village or cook at your own leisure for lunch and dinner.

  • Enjoy the many nature walks around the renowned village of Radicondoli & historical neighbouring towns, the stunning Tuscan landscapes for about an hour and visit its walls, park, the geothermal museum and the numerous appointments. Explore the The village of Belforte, The Abbey of San Galgano, The cloister of Torri Colle Val d'Elsa, famous throughout the world for the crystal and its squares (Dome and Arnolfo), Poggibonsi and the park with the "source of the fairies" and castles San Gimignano, Volterra and Siena.

  • Free transfer shuttle to the B&B is available from Poggibonsi. If you fly into Pisa, Florence or Rome, you need to catch the train or shuttle to Poggibonsi and we will arrange a shuttle to take you to Azienda Agrituristica Le Bolli B&B. Transfer will leave at 5.00 p.m.

Arrival by airplane

The most direct flights are in to Florence; Pisa could be cheaper to fly in to, but a more of a curvy and longer road to drive. Rome and Milano are possible.

Arrival by taxi, car, and bus

The best way to rent a car is to rent it from where you arrive (much cheaper than in Italy) and possibly a deal with your flight, if there are many that arrive together, you could rent a van or a vehicle holding 9-10 people, to share the rides and price. From Florence Airport to Belcanto it is 1 hour and 20 minutes, from Pisa 2 hours. Airport to Azienda Agrituristica Le Bolli B&B it is approx 1.5 hours, from Pisa 2.15 hours.

Alternatively, to car ride, either take a taxi from the airport or be picked up from a private vehicle, from Florence Airport it is 90 EUR, while from Pisa around 170 EUR. Another possibility is when you arrive at the airport, get a taxi or bus to the Florence train station, you can get a bus to Poggibonsi where you can be picked up for 15 EUR each person.

For those who prefer private pick-up, following costs will apply: 40 EU from Poggibonsi (if not wanting to wait for the free shuttle), 60 EU from Siena train station, 120 EU from Florence Airport, 120 EU from Florence train station, and 160 EU from Pisa Airport.

    "Coming from a physiotherapy background I appreciated the high standard of training provided. The level of knowledge in anatomy, physiology and application to exercise, with the focus on special needs and injury prevention is meticulous. The trainers are experienced, knowledgeable and inspirational teachers. They are also exceptionally open and wonderful personalities in themselves. They all have a strong ability to apply functional anatomy to optimize functional movement and stability for safe exercise and to adapt the exercise to suit all body types, shapes, and dysfunctions/limitations. The Yoga philosophy component is enlightening and incorporated well into the course with the involvement of a wonderful household yogi!"

    "What an amazing journey it was so relaxing at the retreat, Crystal and Tracey were two of the most wonderful people Ive had the pleasure of meeting. They made you very welcome and any concerns about you had where there may have been discomfort, they showed me other ways to complete a position or another way to do them. I have learnt more about breathing and my sit bone! There werent too many positions I couldnt achieve, I think I even surprised myself! The weather was kind for the most part I expected it to be warm (similar to Adelaides summers, hot and dry) and it was great doing the classes first thing of a morning, what a way to start your day!Breakfast was a great part of the day too not just for eating, but to catch up with everyone for a chat over some absolutely amazing food, my hat goes off to Alessandria!I was able to go to Siena for a day trip, I didnt have a car so Alessandria organised for me to get to another village to get the bus. Worth the trip lots to see and do there and easy walking around too.Thank you Bec for helping me with my queries and I hope to someday get up to Byron Bay to meet yourself, Louise and Lisa."

    "I had been practicing Yogalates on my own for the past two years, with the series of Yogalates DVD, enjoying a regular practice under Louise's virtual guidance and appreciating the core strength I had started building. Having the opportunity this year to attend the Tuscany retreat and to meet in person with Louise and her students has been a wonderful experience. Louise is incredibly and impressively generous of her time, experience, wisdom and passion. Her care and attention in providing guidance and in recommending subtle, but powerful posture adjustments, transformed my practice and increased the benefits I already gathered from it.     "My name is Audrey McClay and Im 63 years of age. My daughter Alison was trained in Yogalates by Louise and became a teacher herself last year. Ali now takes her own classes locally where she lives in Limavady, Northern Ireland. Through Alis experience I became very interested in Yogalates. I bought a few of Louises DVDs and usually do an hour of Yogalates 5 mornings a week.In November last year I fell down a full flight of concrete stairs. I had various injuries, BUT [surprisingly] no broken bones. I am convinced that Yogalates has strengthened my core muscles and bones and this [with help from above] saved my body from more serious injuries."
