On your first tour, you will be presented with an overview of Florence, focusing on the city's religious, commercial and political centers, and then after winding through the streets, you will end up at the famed Galleria dell'Accademia where you will view the Renaissance Masterpiece, The David. The second private tour will bring you to the Uffizi Gallery, home to some of the largest and most important Renaissance works of art. You will have a very specific tour that is mapped out in chronological order and highlights the most significant works of art in the gallery. The tours are all reserved so you can avoid the waiting and spend the maximum amount of time enjoying your visits in both of the exquisite galleries.

A local designer and creator of an international handbag company will demonstrate the quality and beauty of what is that desired moniker, 'Made in Italy.' Additionally, they have put together a special and off-the-beaten-track collection of boutiques and artisan workshops where clients will find designs, creations and pieces that are not only unique to Italy, but exclusive to Florence. Specialized visits include a private showing with a world renowned jeweler in their 112 year old workshop, a trip to an artisan perfumer located in a renaissance palace, and a visit to one of the most respected and well-known Florentine shoe designer's headquarters.

Shari discovered the unlimited and positive effects of a consistent yoga practice over 12 years ago in San Francisco, California. Her journey included numerous disciplines, but it wasn't until Ashtanga that she found her true yoga passion and was certified in 2010 in Florence, Italy (her other passion). She now enjoys teaching a vigorous, playful and challenging Ashtanga flow class accompanied by an equally dynamic playlist. She hopes that through her teaching, she can inspire others with the grace and love that she has found. Shari has been leading yoga retreats and holidays for over 2 years in amazing locations from Belize to India to Morocco and all over her adopted and gorgeous country, Italy.

According to fashion magazines and bloggers the world over, Florence is very quickly becoming the worlds fifth fashion capital. Nestled amongst some of the most gorgeous art and architectural structures, are top luxury fashion powerhouses spanning from bridge to bridge. This stunning Tuscan Italian city has been the inspiration for designers and artisans, fragrance developers and creators of exquisite jewels and leather goods for hundreds of years.

"This past June I joined Sole Yoga Holidays in Santorini and the trip was truly a special experience. It is always such a pleasure to watch someone who truly enjoys what it is that they do; their feelings of joy, excitement and positivity are just contagious when it's genuine. And that's what you will experience when you travel with Shari and Sole Yoga Holidays - Shari simply loves yoga and focuses on helping others expand their abilities; whether you're a novice or a veteran yogi, you will enjoy participating in her yoga retreats. She customizes each session to reflect the level of attendees and provides individual corrections to help you progress. She also takes pride in providing a unique day exclusion so you can take in more of the local culture, for our Santorini trip, she had a private catamaran booked for the day, seeing Santorini by boat and being able to jump in the refreshing waters and enjoy a freshly prepared meal while taking in the beautiful scenery was icing on the cake! Well done and I would highly recommend Sole Yoga Holidays for anyone looking to get out of town and enjoy a well put together yoga retreat."

"I want to express my gratitude regarding my experience on my first Sole Yoga Holidays retreat. I really enjoy travel and travel as often as I can get away. I must say that the Sole Yoga retreat in Santorini, Greece is at the top of the list. The location was stunning, the villa we stayed at not only beautiful and relaxing but beyond accommodating with friendly staff that makes you feel like family but only in the best sense. The yoga is tailored to everyone's strengths and abilities. The excursions fun. There is a lot of flexibility in activities. And to wake up with yoga in a beautiful setting with breezes and birds chirping and then do it again in the evening, it was a little bit of utopia. I have never had a week that I enjoyed more or felt better. Thank you!"

"I have booked my Morocco yoga holiday very last minute and Shari made me feel welcome from the very first e-mail exchange. The holiday was perfectly arranged with amazing trips, spare time to explore the area and fantastic catering. The Riad we stayed in was wonderful and the staff so very caring and lovely to all of us. Shari is positive and passionate about life which really shined through in her yoga classes. Each class made me feel positive and stronger. I left Morocco with a smile on my face, knowing that I would definitely do another Sole Holiday again soon. Shari is a very special person with an incredible sense of humour!"

"We had an amazing time on our Moroccan yoga retreat! "

"Shari was beyond helpful every step of the way! The yoga classes were great, and the time spent in Morocco was so enjoyable. If we needed anything (help with accommodations, what to pack, air travel, etc.), Shari was responsive from the moment we signed up until the farewell hug at the end of the retreat. The lovely people we met along the way, the incredible beauty of Marrakesh, and the wonderful yoga experience in Essaouira made for an unforgettable trip. "

The yoga was the perfect soulful way to start and end the day, the tours were informative and fun, the traditional food tasting was wonderful and varied. I couldn't have asked for anything more. "Had a great time and met amazing people. The yoga was quite strenuous for me as I am not really into flow yoga, but I enjoyed the activity. The hosts were lovely people. However, I think it should be advertised as a rustic retreat. I would not think of this as deluxe in the sense. But pleasant, clean, and earthy." website, edited

  • Review by Viktoriya from Eindhoven, Netherlands

"My Positano yoga adventure was absolutely unforgettable! Imagine one week of the sun, quite toning work out (yoga and walks in the mountain), healthy delicious food, and unforgettable sceneries of Amalfi coast! Those are just a few highlights and there is so much more to that. We were located in the charming corner of Positano Mountains with a view to die for on the town and serene seaside. It was unbelievably beautiful during the day, but when the moon showed up in the evening, lightening the mountains and moonwalk on the sea, my only regret was that there's no Italiano vero signing a serenade for me. In the morning, after tea and coffee we had our morning session also on the deck with beautiful scenery. Shari (the leader) practices Ashtanga and accommodates positions and the flow for various levels, so if you are familiar with yoga, but still quite a beginner (like myself), don't worry, you'll be fine and truly enjoy. After the morning yoga we had quite a big breakfast, cooked from organic products with most of them from La Selva (mozzarella di buffalo with tomatoes and basil was my favorite). And then you have free time till the evening yoga, which you of course can skip, if you are exploring the rest of Amalfi coast. Everyday you can go to different places (Amalfi, Ravello, Sorrento, etc.), but I preferred to explore Positano beaches, which are just great! Also shopping is enjoyable - with many boutiques of sundresses, Positano handmade sandals, and of course Limoncello and sweets! We also had a wonderful boat trip to Capri, which was a lot of fun, especially swimming in Capri grottos with just emerald water (remember the "Dolce and Gabbana" Light Blue perfume commercial with a hot guy in white speedos? This is where we stopped for swimming). But coming back to the Sole yoga. Shari took great care of all 12 of us, and provided guidance and tips, where to go, what to do, etc., and worked really hard so everybody is happy, and don't need to think about logistics, transfers, and so on, so we could just enjoy ourselves. Lastly, what a great group of ladies we had! Everyone was an outstanding personality and the nicest person! Regardless of the age and background, we had so much fun together, and felt like the best friends! Finishing my feedback, I would like to thank Shari for this great experience, and to each of the ladies "Positano mountain goats" for making this trip absolutely unforgettable! So, I would highly recommend this trip if you want to recharge, tone up, and see the most beautiful part of Italy, and all of that with a wonderful group of people! Loved it!"

"This was my second retreat with Shari and I booked confidently knowing her solid reputation, impeccable taste, and her attention to detail. Her retreat in Positano this August did not disappoint. La Selva proved to be the most charming and idyllic location for a yoga retreat. Nestled high in the cliffs above Positano, and below Montepertuso, reachable only by foot, this retreat was rustic yet serene. Energetic Ashtanga flow practices were held twice daily by the wonderfully engaging Shari, amid the sounds of roosters, cicadas and goats and the most glorious view of the Amalfi coast. I truly enjoyed her flow style of yoga as it was dynamic and challenging and I was able to push my practice to new levels. Our daily trips and excursions to the local towns included beautiful custom sandals, a beach day, apperitivos, and delectable nibbles at the famous Chez Black. Our gracious hosts at La Selva delighted us daily with their scrumptious vegetarian dishes that were flavorful and nourishing, created from the produce of their very own gardens. Standouts for me include the zucchini flowers, homemade jams, and the hearty walnut and dried fruit breads. There were multiple showers and washrooms available for all. I left La Selva feeling stronger, energized, yet relaxed and grateful for the new friendships created; and the gentle guidance and strong support Shari provided throughout my week. I look forward to attending another retreat with Shari and Sole Yoga."

"My experience with Shari and Sole Yoga in Positano, 2015 was more than I could have hoped for. Sharis guidance throughout the entire booking/planning process was prompt, thorough and always met with a warm demeanor. The extensive information listed both on her website and social media pages prepared me to plan accurately in advance. Feeling prepared and excited allowed me to focus on opening my heart and mind while practicing twice daily yoga and left me being able to truly enjoy and explore the Amalfi Coast in my down time. I found the accommodations of La Selva to be charming and rustic, as described and with breathtaking views and delicious vegetarian food that nourished the soul. Shari made herself entirely available throughout the retreat, welcoming a variety of questions about the day-to-day, site seeing, and tailoring daily practice to any shared needs of the group. Some of my trip favorites include our day trip to Capri, lounging on the beach and lunching at Chez Black. I also enjoyed the rustic element of the trip. Hiking into La Selva and daily Ashtanga Flow challenged me and left me feeling rejuvenated. I would highly recommend this yoga and travel opportunity with Sole Yoga and am looking forward to returning in the future!"

  • Review by Tamara from Florida, USA

"Though the location was amazing, the food was healthy and the company was entertaining and engaging, the yoga practice felt lacking in depth, not a bit spiritual and not intentional. The accommodations were very basic, four in a room sharing a bathroom. The room was not cleaned, and sheets and towels were not changed during our stay. My mattress was sagging in the middle and the instructor and organizer did not find any solution. The retreat was misleadingly advertised as a 'deluxe' yoga retreat, yet it was simply rustic. The instructor limited to do her two yoga practices, not considering that many of us did not really enjoy the flowy type of yoga or adjusting the practice to the different levels of competency and skills. Her practices did not differ one from another; she basically stuck to one routine. Furthermore, as the leader of the retreat, she did not make any effort engaging in conversation with the group, and was constantly working on her iPad and laptop. The boating day to Capri was wonderful, but on the beach day that she organized, we each had to pay for our own beach chairs. There was no learning involved, just a flowy practice that she seldom corrected. It was a big disappointment. I had hoped to connect more with the essence of yoga and learn from a yoga role model. Instead I witnessed criticism of other worldly recognized yoga teachers. For the amount of money we paid, we did not get our money's worth." websited, edited

"I had never been to a yoga retreat nor had I traveled on a holiday on my own. This was an extempore idea, and it turned out absolutely great, more than I expected! I had a great time in Positano with Sole Yoga Holidays. Shari was an excellent tour leader; with amazing skills to get everything working and her yoga lessons were a perfect match to my "yoga needs"! The whole week was planned in a balanced way with yoga, some excursions and having a good time, but also an opportunity for those who wanted just to take it easy, read a book etc. La Selva was as expected, a place hidden from the crowds, an amazing view, which one could not get enough of. It is rustic, quite simple; this all added to its charm. I liked it, but if you are looking for a 5-star hotel, don't choose this. However, for me, somebody used to hotels, this was an unforgettable experience. The food was delicious (bread!) and company superior, just perfect in every way!" website, edited

"Sole Yoga Holidays and Shari's yoga retreats combine so many elements, the sum of which amounts to an amazing experience overall. I find the morning yoga prepares you for the day and the evening session helps you get the most out of your evenings and helps you to sleep well too. The extra excursions, such as a day out on the water, visits to the local wineries, shopping, even the sourcing of the best and freshest local produce are great fun, as meeting the locals helps to understand the rhythms of their life style and culture. All this, coupled with the sunshine and warm sea air makes for a fantastic holiday. It is great value too, priced very well, according to the level of accommodation, with transfers to and from the airport included. This service also means you get to stay at places away from the general tourists spots, which for I personally, is one of the best aspects. I can highly recommend Sole Yoga Holidays, as Shari puts her heart and soul into each one, to ensure all of her guests get the best out of their stay. I would like to go on another of her trips again some time, hopefully soon."

"I attended the Sole Yoga Holiday Florence, Italy: yoga, wine, and art tour (November, 2014). It was a profound experience that had moments of perfection and brilliance. I was booked into a beautiful apartment in the heart of a non-tourist area of Florence where I was presented with a lovely gift bag. Each day we attended Shari's yoga classes. Shari's yoga classes were cognizant of each students level of experience and injuries in mind. She gave fantastic alignment and adjustments cues maintaining a good pace and energy level. The art tours consisted of exploring the amazing architecture in Florence and attending guided tours of the Uffizi and the Accademia Gallery. Viewing "David" took my breath away. The meals offered were paired with local wines of exceptional quality. This was my first retreat with Sole Yoga Holidays and will not be my last." website, edited

"My dear Shari, where to start! I went to the Positano retreat last year and it was life changing. The views, the setting, the amazing daily double dose of yoga, the ladies, the food, and the Amalfi coast all made this for a wonderful experience! Shari made sure to bring the group together, to make us all feel at home and to wrap it all up in this fun holiday that just happened to have amazing yoga weaved into it. And oh, did I mention there's wine and dessert every night with dinner? I can't wait to go back and do this again. Five stars and double thumbs up!"

She really helped me grasp an awareness of my own body and its immense, beautiful strength. Focusing on body positioning, breathing and core strength, I always felt a connection with not only myself, my mind, and the earth, but also a connection with Shari and the community she created inside her classes."
