Thiruvambadi Beach Resort is all about eco-tourism. It is a unique boutique hotel in a magical setting, offering comfort, elegance, and tranquility on the sandy beachside.



This retreat is based on the holistic approach of yoga addressing all levels of existence so that you experience holistic health and happiness. You will practice Laughter yoga in this retreat. Then, you will have daily 2 yoga sessions covering asanas, pranayama, Surya Namaskar, Kriya, etc., regular morning guided meditation and regular evening satsang with Soham John, and daily yoga Nidra (a yogic technique to induce deep relaxation to body and mind).

Besides those mentioned, each client will get one session of Ayurvedic consultation and rejuvenating massage, Reiki healing, and yogic counseling during the period. Also, each member will be supplied with a yoga book, "The Essential Lessons of Yoga", written by Soham John and a yoga DVD developed by Soham Holistic Yoga School. This will help the members follow the holistic yoga practice after the retreat at home referring the yoga book and DVD.

The yoga has just turned to be physical exercise and acrobatics in the modern time ignoring the great value of yoga as a spiritual science and the time-tested practice to heal the diseases.

Yoga is a meditation-oriented practice to balance the flow of energy and activate the energy centers (chakras) so that one experiences the fullness of life and bliss. In this retreat, you will practice the scientific yoga with all benefits of improving health as well as your expansion of consciousness. It is a journey from the outer (body) to the center (spiritual heart) of your being to find your true self.

Satsang is an informal way of talk, interaction, and group meditation to enrich your inner self. In this satsang, the following topics are discussed; the science of health and spirituality, yoga philosophy based on the text of Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, happiness analysis, nadi system, Kundalini and chakras, chakra balancing, samadhi (the last stop of the inner journey), and meditation, the art of stabilizing in self.

Soham John
Soham John is a world renowned yoga guru with 25 years experience in yoga teaching and holistic healing. His mission and teachings took him to several countries across the globe. Being a registered medical practitioner in alternative medicine - yoga and naturopathy, John’s qualifications also include M.Sc in yogic science, MA, ND, YTT certification in Sivananda yoga and master practitioner in Reiki or pranic healing. Trained in various meditation schools such as Alpha Mind power, Vipasana, Kundalini, and Zen, etc, his teachings are distilled wisdom.

How to get there

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Trivandrum International Airport (TRV). Transfer from and to this airport is available upon request.

You can also find a prepaid taxi at the airport and show the address of the resort. They will bring you to the location.

Arrival by train

You can get down at Varkala Sivagiri railway station. From the station, a free transfer service in a taxi can be arranged. To benefit, please inform Soham Holistic Yoga School in advance.

Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 50% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid on arrival.
