Siddhartha has been influenced by the Vedic philosophy while growing up through his grandfather who was general secretary of the world spiritual council of India and an orator of the ancient wisdom of Vedas and Upanishads. He continued his passion through personal studies and is an internationally certified teacher. He has been studying and teaching the yoga philosophy for many years, and continues to learn and deepen his knowledge of the ancient wisdom combined with modern science.
In his workshop based on samkhya yoga and unified field theory, he proposes principle of opposition which is inherent in nature and when applied in yoga practice, it offers optimal alignment and balance to not only your postures but overall life too. With this integral approach you can easily learn how to impart philosophy into action and add grace to your yoga practice. He is fully aware that everyone is on their own unique journey of spiritual growth and always inspires people to find their own answers.
Claire grew up in the suburbs of New York City as a competitive gymnast and dancer. Dedicating long hours of training under intense structure and discipline, she became a successful performer and team leader, always coming home with metals and celebratory smiles. She learned to express herself through the boundaries of her body and also found the importance of a strong mind-body-spirit connection.
Claire was born with a natural taste for touch, currently healing with massage and reiki. Yoga and healing have become her life and they extend in many directions. She offers private sessions, classes, workshops, and teacher training courses to all ages between the U.S., India, and Thailand. Her meditation practice helped to advance her practice and to incorporate the truth and wisdom of yoga into her daily life. Her passion for traveling around the world also aided her journey inwards. It now feels to her as though her entire life has become one big meditation, bringing in awareness and appreciations for each breathe.
Three years ago he decided to pursue his dream of traveling around the world, replacing his business suit with a backpack. The first step of his journey was training to become a yoga teacher in India. His experience was so enriching that he returned to complete his 500hr training a year later and assist in the training of new teachers. Chris travels have led him to teach in India, Nepal, Thailand, Colombia, and his native United States.
His love of exploring and fascination with nature often leads me on long treks to the peaks of mountains and to the ocean depths in his work as a scuba dive-master. As a drummer since he was 10 years old, there is always the possibility of spontaneous dancing in one of his classes or on the streets. One of the best lessons he have learned is to be in sync with the drums of your heart. To be able to do something that resonates deep within him, sharing his yoga with others, is truly a blessing.
The retreat center will be your home amongst nature during yoga teacher training in Goa. This mindfully-chosen venue is home to a working organic spice farm, passed down from generation to generation, filled with natural energy. This difference is experienced both in the sound therapy of the forest and the freshness of the vegetarian and vegan meals prepared each day. Wake up each morning to views of lush forest during daily asana practice and glimpse the stars from underneath giant palm leaves. We aim to provide the optimal environment to reconnect with your inner self: after all Smriti means remembrance. The plantations are totally organic. Students can learn organic multi-cropping system and see how natural organic farming is maintained. For example to protect vanilla crop from bacteria we depend on a particular species of ants which eat the bacteria. There is perfect balance in nature; all we need is to harness it. There is natural honey produced in the farm and one can learn how to use these organic spices in cooking or for medicinal use.
"Smriti Yoga was and will always be the place of transformation for me. I was traveling through India and Sri Lanka when I decided that I wanted to do a yoga teacher training. I searched online for different schools around in India and came across Smriti Yoga. I didnt know much about the school than what was written on their web page. But my gut feeling told me that this was the place, so I applied. About a month later I was in this huge organic farm in Goa surrounded by nature, beautiful experienced teachers and students. I started a journey that came to be one of the most amazing experiences ever. I would really recommend Smriti Yoga for its space, food and great vibes to really transform and grow with the help of three beautiful teachers and also the hospitality from the family at Transhikar spice farm."
