6 Days Horsemanship and Yoga Retreat in County Galway, Ireland

Slieve Aughty Centre, Kylebrack West, Loughrea, Co. Galway, Ireland

Horsemanship and Yoga Retreat Ireland

During this retreat, you will be invited to create deeper connections and partnership from the heart; with horses through natural horsemanship sessions and trail riding; and with yourself, through daily yoga classes, breathwork, and meditation. You will be given the opportunity to put what you learn on the mat into practice in the horsemanship sessions. Similarly, you can learn a lot through your interactions with horses - how to cultivate your awareness and how to be present, which can inform your yoga practice as well as your everyday lives.

Daily housekeeping services are included in the room rate; in keeping with the environmentally friendly ethos, you are given the option to skip a day here and there. The management team is there every day in case there is anything you need!

Program

Yoga is about the connection, or union, of body, mind, and spirit through meditation, breathing (pranayama), and physical postures (asana). You will learn how, through the teachings of yoga, to connect with horses and how to reconnect with yourself; rediscovering your breath, your energy, increasing your self-awareness, and becoming less reactive.

The yoga classes will complement the horsemanship with a combination of deep Yin/Restorative stretches and warming Vinyasa flows to open the body and joints in a nurturing way, as well as pranayama (breathwork) and meditation to turn inward, focusing on living in the present moment and to improve concentration. Others will develop strength and awareness of your balance and posture, which is necessary emotionally and physically to connect with horses.
