SkyYoga invites you to this three-day weekend, authentic yoga experience to re-energize and relax in the Kent countryside. You will stay at a quirky 'Arts and Craft' style Edwardian house with large airy rooms and high ceilings. All in its original glory. The yoga shala has an Indian ambiance to transport you into an Eastern vibe where you can blissfully meditate and re-connect to the self.
Throughout this amazing retreat, you will be staying at an Edwardian country house situated in Kent. The house is rather like a unique exotic ashram. There is accommodation for up to 8 guests and has airy and light bedrooms of dormitory-style. The Indian silks tents with futon rollaway floor beds can provide a grounding experience both physically and mentally. The decor is minimal to help declutter the mind. The bed linen is white and crisp, towels, night lights, hot water bottles, and hairdryer are provided.
All accommodation is sharing for this retreat. There are no double or singles rooms and no mix gender rooms. Girls will share with the girls. There are two bathrooms with bath and toilet. There is also a further toilet on the ground floor. There is a hand-held shower in one of the bathrooms for a quick shower.
Ashrams usually represent a return to a simpler way of living, which is very different from a hotel. Generally, there is a more communal atmosphere.
From professional dancer to Ashtanga Yoga teacher has been one exciting journey. It was during a trip to LA I found mysef in an Ashtanga Yoga Mysore class and it totally gripped me. It resonated with my love of freedom of movement coupled with routine sequencing and dynamics. I'd found a new passion. The next step was India, so every year I return to Mysore to re connect with my teachers and the very source of yoga. I believe in the power of all Eastern healing arts and qualified in Thai Yoga Therapy - Chavutti Thirumal - Ayurvedic Marma Therapy - Thai Foot Massage and Nada Yoga.
Yinny is a 200-hour Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga teacher, member of Yoga Alliance. A student of Iyengar with a strong focus on alignment. Her love of strong flowing and creative sequencing stems from a personal practice in Ashtanga, Jivamukti and Anusara styles of yoga. 200-hour Yin yoga training - Yin applied to Vinyasa.
During this retreat, you will be served a vegan menu. Moreover, this is a non-alcohol weekend retreat. Please notify SkyYoga with any dietary requirements when booking.
The itinerary allows for 5 hours of yoga and plenty of free time to enjoy the retreat space or to explore the surrounding area. You need to create space to find stillness and quiet to calm the mind. This retreat is set up to make time for yourself and just be. No full-on itinerary - yoga, then 'me time'. It's a simple and effective way to recharge, rebalance and reconnect to the self that you've been missing these days.
Please take a train to arrive at the Hildenborough Station. Trains are from London Charing Cross and some from Cannon Street Station as both routes are direct to Hildenborough Station. The house is only four minutes away from the Hildenborough Station on foot. Please keep SkyYoga posted during your travels and they will happily pick you up from the station.
