Skillful Mind's yoga retreats give participants the space for their body and mind to come back to itself, and become one. This retreat is designed specifically for those who want to reconnect with themselves and enhance their body mind connection through gentle movement, breathing and self-reflection. It is suitable for beginners to experienced practitioners, the schedule is designed to teach and nurture all in a supportive like-minded environment. This is a weekend that you take to spend time on you - you deserve it!
The rooms are hotel style - cozy, neat and clean consisting of 2 single beds with shared bathrooms. For those that like their own space we recommend upgrading to a single room.
Linen, towel, and soap are provided.
Peter is a life coach, meditation teacher, and neuro-linguistic programming trainer. He teaches students though the lens of a calm mind to help bring peace, happiness, and joy to their lives. Peter's unique background as a Buddhist monk empowers his retreats to be so much more than an ordinary getaway, it becomes a journey in itself. Peter began coaching and teaching meditation to small groups in 2004. He left the corporate world behind in 2009 to teach meditation, neuro-linguistic programming, and personal development full time.
This retreat will be held at The Monastery - in the rooms where traditionally priest trained. Now the facilities are open to all - for residential retreats or training. It's a gorgeous venue with beautiful sacred gardens to wander through in your free time. A perfect place to disconnect from the world and take a journey within.

No longer a purely Christian venue, The Monastery have opened their doors for corporate and retreat hosting, and welcome us to come and soak up the energy for our weekend retreats of Yoga, Meditation or Empowerment.
The Monastery property had several owners before being purchased by the Passionist Community in 1896.
The original 16 acres of land, including grapevines, was owned by Mr Arthur Hardy. In 1847, ownership passed to Mr Joseph Barrow Montefiore (whose brother was the inspiration for Montefiore Hill) who built a grand house in oriental design, named ‘The Glen’. He surrounded it with well-chosen, rare and imported trees and plants, some of which still grace the grounds, including a huge Morton Bay Fig and two fine Norfolk Island pines.
The property had two more landowners until 1896, when the Passionist Community purchased it for 2500 pounds.
Due to council recommendations, the original building was demolished in the early 1940s and gradually rebuilt to suit the changing needs of the monastic community. The unique Spanish styled architecture, with spacious verandahs and high ceilings, lends itself beautifully for use as a unique conference and function venue.

Skillful MIND retreat attendees rave about the food while on retreat - the only complaint is that there's too much yummy goodness!
The menu has been designed as healthy and wholesome in a home cooked style. It's simple but is full of flavor and your body will thank you for the nourishment. See top right for a link to sample menus. Our venues are also happy to cater for Lactose/Gluten Free, Vegetarian, Vegan or any special dietary requirements you may have.
Please note: While on retreat we recommend you choose the vegetarian option (if you are not already). This gives your digestion time to also have a break, and in many philosophies, it's said that a meat-free diet is more conducive to a meditation and yoga practice. Vegetarian can be chosen in dietary requirements when booking.
