All rooms are up the grand staircase. The private room includes a single bed, a dresser, a closet, and a desk. Lots of light and air. Same for the dorm room for up to four guests. There is a same-sex shared bathroom down the hall. Linens are provided. The common sitting area is at the end of the hall.

Daily program includes:

  • Classical yoga practice, twice a day
  • Delicious vegetarian meals, twice a day
  • Guided meditation and kirtan sessions (Satsang), twice a day
  • Community selfless service to feel part of the ashram energy (Karma Yoga), one hour a day
  • Plenty of free time to relax, read, self-study, contemplate and make new friends

You are also invited to:

  • Read from the extensive collection of yoga books in their library.
  • Visit their boutique which sells yoga books, CDs, snacks, yoga clothing, and yoga accessories.

Sample daily schedule

  • 06:00 Satsang (meditation, chanting, talking, or reading)
  • 08:00 Light breakfast
  • 10:00 Asanas and pranayama (all-level yoga class)
  • 12:00 Vegetarian lunch
  • 13:00 Karma yoga (selfless service)
  • 14:00 Workshop on yoga philosophy (weekends)
  • 18:00 Vegetarian dinner (earlier on Saturdays)

To maintain the spiritual atmosphere, visitors are required to attend Satsang and one Asana class daily. Impromptu afternoon workshops possible on weekdays.

Retreat location

The retreat will take place in Los Angeles, California, USA. It is near the corner of West Adams Boulevard and 7th Ave, just minutes east of the Crenshaw exit on the 10 freeway. There is easy access via surface streets, too. It is the only residential yoga retreat in Los Angeles.

It is tucked away in a grand home in the historic Jefferson Park/West Adams neighborhood of the city. It is extremely calm and peaceful. Fresh vegetarian cooking on the premises. It has a protected environment, no TV or loud music, and no alcohol, cigarettes, marijuana or drugs are allowed on the premises. There is a shady side garden to enjoy and a large library of inspirational books awaits any book lover.
