Swami Sivasankariananda, C-IAYT, director of the Los Angeles Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center, served as director of the San Francisco Center from February of 2015 to September 2019. She returned to LA where she lived for 20+ years. She completed her TTC at the Yoga Farm in 1997 and ATTC there in 2008. Swamiji has been on yatra in north and south India and Mount Kailas. She loves to teach and is particularly fond of the Bhakti yoga practices. She took sannyas in 2017 and is a certified yoga therapist.
Dr. Bharathi, BAMS, FAIHM, YIC, is a passionate Ayurveda Practitioner, Speaker, Researcher and Educator with over 20 years of clinical experience. She believes in working together with her clients as a team in creating health and balance. Bachelor's degree in Ayurveda (BAMS) from Bangalore University, India. Fellow in Integrative Medicine from the Academy of Integrative Health and Medicine. Certified Vyasa Yoga Instructor. Areas of expertise include managing digestive imbalances, healthy weight management, post oncology integrative care, Ayurveda detox and chronic pain management.
The retreat will take place in Los Angeles, California, USA. It is located in the historic Jefferson Park/West Adams neighborhood of Los Angeles, near the corner of West Adams Boulevard and 7th Ave, just minutes east of the Crenshaw exit on the 10 freeway. There is easy access via surface streets, too. It is the only residential yoga retreat in Los Angeles.
It is tucked away in a grand home in a historic neighborhood of the city. It is extremely calm and peaceful. Fresh vegetarian cooking on the premises. It has a protected environment, no TV or loud music, and no alcohol or drugs. There is a shady side garden to enjoy and a large library of inspirational books awaits any book lover.

Peace Awareness Labyrinth and Gardens is called a “spiritual oasis in the city,” its purpose is to provide a place for people to take time out of their busy lives to visit, reflect, and be rejuvenated by the peace and nature present. The Exposition Park Rose Garden is a historic seven-acre sunken garden across from the USC campus. It has been called “one of the city’s best-kept secrets”.
Have an Ayurvedic consultation with Dr. Bharathi for 60 minutes at an additional cost of 200 USD. Dr. Bharathi will determine your constitution, appraise the balance of your doshas, the health of your dhatus (tissues), the strength of your Agni (digestive fire), as well as your ojas (immunity) and sattva (mental harmony).
