The ancient wisdom is about truly relaxing and sensing the depth of your being as you observe and experience the outer world. When you relax deeply, you will realize your essential nature and your inner peace of being. When you perceive the outer world from this state of peace, you will not be troubled or disturbed. Joyful living then flows from the experience of being at ease and free of mental and physical tension.
That, in essence, is the heart and soul of yoga, to drop all tensions so that the depth of you is revealed. Goa is the place Begum taught and lived for the first time in 2009. It is a recommended piece of heaven.
Apart from the prepared activities, there are a variety of other activities within the local area such as live music, dance, and kite surfing. You will have a morning fluid Vinyasa sequence of yoga asana, pranayama, simple chanting, and quiet sitting with qualified teachers twice daily, in an open-air thatched roof yoga shala. Afternoon activities will vary each day, from Restorative asana, yoga Nidra, gentle pranayama, seated and moving meditations, and Pilates sessions for core and stability.
The practices are suitable for all levels of experience. Begum will assist you in the morning asana classes and Bengu and other guest Indian teacher friends of Shivani Yoga Center will assist you in the afternoons.
This retreat includes one silent morning walk and a group excursion to the night market or other local events.

She was working as a teacher at one of the most well-known yoga resorts in Goa, India, which has a large yoga community. Begum is now based in Istanbul, Turkey, and enjoys sharing her teachings with people from all nations. She is also a certified Pilates teacher, Feng Shui specialist, and Thai massage therapist.
Bengu is a Yoga Alliance UK certified Pilates and yoga instructor, as well as the owner of Shivani Yoga Center since 2010.
This retreat will take place in Goa, India. Goa is India’s smallest state by area and the fourth smallest by population in the western region of India. Goa is visited by large numbers of international and domestic tourists each year for its beaches, places of worship, and world heritage architecture. It has amazing long beaches with a very safe and welcoming atmosphere.

During this retreat, you will be served daily brunch and dinner. The kitchen is on the open area by the beach and produces a mouthwatering array of local Indian and fusion vegetarian dishes, whole wheat breads, daily fresh pastries, and juices from Goa’s own fruit trees. The meals are freshly prepared using organic homegrown fruits and vegetables whenever possible, supplemented by produce from local markets.
Chef Sai Sabnis is young, enthusiastic, and in charge of the restaurant. After training in New York and working at a green restaurant, Sabnis decided to return home and set up a restaurant with the same philosophy. The chef believes in treating products with respect and allowing their true flavors to shine through rather than smother them with window dressing. As a result, some of the dishes seem almost bare but are beautiful.
The fusion menu plays with the Indian love for large thali-style meals. Coconut water served straight from coconuts, dressings and chutneys made in-house, and vegetables and fish (no pork or beef will be served) that are fresh off the boat are some of the highlights that make the space endearing. It also helps that it is located on a stunning beach.
During your free time, you can take an additional tour to the old city, waterfalls, Hindu temples, or Taj Mahal for additional but affordable prices. You can also participate in other activities such as live music, dance, and kite surfing within the local area.
Included in the total price of the retreat is a 30-minute welcome foot massage session.
Please book your flight to arrive at Goa International Airport (GOI).
