A yoga course for beginners is offered and opened for those who are interested in learning and understanding to establish a strong foundation of yoga practices and to get in-depth practice and experience with yoga for the first time.
All ages are welcome as participants.
Dharamsala is a very beautiful place for meditation and yoga. Shiva Yoga Valley offers the courses at Mcleodganj Dharamsala and is running in a beautiful location at Mcleodganj (upper Dharamsala). The place of yoga is peaceful and away from the traffic sounds. McLeod Ganj or Upper Dharamsala at nearly 1,800 meters is nestled in the foothills of the Dhauladhars, which rise to 4546 mts. A hill station from the days of the British Raj, it is now often referred to as "The Little Lhasa" and offers travelers a unique opportunity to experience a vibrant Tibetan culture. McLeod Ganj is nine kilometers by bus and four kilometers by taxi route up the hill from lower Dharamsala or Kotwali Bazar, as it is known. At a much lower altitude of 1250 metres, nearly all the inhabitants of Lower Dharamsala are Indians. Being the headquarters of Kangra district all the local Indian government offices are located there too.
The residence of His Holiness Dalai Lama is opposite the Tsuklakhang. McLeod Ganj is largely populated by Tibetans and it is surrounded by pine, Himalayan oak, rhododendron and deodar forests with a magnificent view of the Kangra Valley. Today, streams of Tibetan refugees from Tibet and other parts of the world converge at McLeod Ganj to receive blessings and teachings from His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Western and Indian tourists, academics as well as spiritual seekers come here in large numbers to see the rebirth of an ancient and profound civilization. The high altitude and cool weather contribute physically to this recreation of the original Tibetan environment.

The aim of this course is to give an authentic understanding of yoga so the student can build a strong foundation for him/herself by understanding the main aspects of yoga teaching, how to use different tools of yoga principles properly to gain maximum benefits and enhance the yogic journey in life.
Some of the classes of the beginners course are held in conjunction with our yoga teacher training and graduate program. This course provides a perfect opportunity to expand your yoga practice in a relaxed and tranquil environment. If a beginners course student would like to take his practice forward, and go deeper to get more experience, he could join the yoga teacher training course (200, 300 or 500 hours).
From New Delhi Airport to Dharamsala Airport (Gagal Airport) - approximately two hours.
During the winter months (end of December till around the middle of February), we often have snow and therefore quite cold (minimum 0C). Summer temperatures range from 22 C to 30C. The monsoons hit Dharamsala from mid-June till mid- September and cool the summer temperatures considerably. A light rain jacket might be necessary for the end of June.

Master Naveen Techno Yogi was born in Uttar Pradesh State located in northern India. He is a specialist of yoga asana, pranakarshan pranayama, savita meditation, Naad yoga, relaxations, and advance pranic healing. At the age of 21, he won a gold medal in Uttarakhand yoga championship and participated in various other national and international yoga championships.
Naveen yogi earned his B.Sc. in yogic science and postgraduate diploma in yogic science from the renowned university, Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidalaya, Haridwar. He also has a keen interest in the field of technology that lead him to take his master's degree in computer science with an interdisciplinary research entitled "Yoga and Computer Technology." When it comes to mixing words with movement, Naveen uses deliberate fast-paced diction, detailing every movement in a way that is remarkably fluid and accurate.
Master Sandeep Yogi was born in the north state of India, called Uttar Pardesh. He is the founder director of Shiva Yoga Valley. He is a specialist of yoga asana, pranayam, mudra, bandh, and meditation relaxations. He studied at Gurukul Kangri in Haridwar and graduated with a degree in traditional yoga art. He also studied Veda, Upnishads, Bhagvat Geeta, Yogasutra, English, and Sanskrit languages. He now continues his inquiry and is studying for a masters degree in yoga art.
Master Sandeep Yogi brings his broad experience of yoga and holistic health to his teaching style. His classes are dynamic, focusing attention to form, and the integration of breath and cultivation of awareness. He aims to create a supportive environment and takes to heart each student's experience. He teaches Hatha yoga, Ashtanga yoga, Kundalini yoga, Mantra yoga, etc. Now he has his yoga centres in Dharamshala, Rishikesh, and Thailand where he offers expert yoga teacher training courses, and also travels in India extensively to spread the knowledge of yoga and help people.
Master Sunil Yogi is a specialist of yoga philosophy, Vedic theology, Ayurveda, marm therapy, yoga asana, pranayam, and naturopathy. He also studied Veda, Upnishads, and Bhagvat Geeta, Yogasutra, English, Panini Sanskrit Vyakaran, Bengali, and Sanskrit languages. Yogi Sunil graduated from Serampore College Calcutta and Shatri from Uttarkhand Sankrit University. He also studied in Gurukul and Asharm. He is a certified by the World Yoga Alliance as a 200 and 500 hours yoga teacher.
From a very young age, yoga has been a passion and hobby for Dr. Rashpal. Throughout his life, he has incorporated meditation into his lifestyle. After completing his studies, he dedicated his life to yoga and meditation. Since 2001, he has been regularly practicing yoga and meditation. He has also studied and practiced Naturopathy.
Furthermore, he have also traveled throughout India and helped people to learn more on meditation, yoga and naturopathy, free of charge. Now he continues to pass on the knowledge he has acquired, to people from all walks of life.

Kareri lake is a natural freshwater lake formed by melting glaciers of the Himalayas. It is at a height of 1,983 meters above sea level. It has become a favorite tourist spot for many nature lovers.

Tsuglagkhang complex is the residence of the Tibetan spiritual leader, Dalai Lama. Thousands of pilgrims and tourists come here to seek blessings of his Highness, the Dalai Lama. The well-known Namgyal Monastery is also within this complex.
Jwalamukhi temple is a place greatly revered by Hindu deities, as it is believed that a blue flame constantly burns from the rocks of the temple. Many tourists from other religious backgrounds also come to partake in this legend.
A large monastery on the outskirts of Dharamshala, Gyuto Monastery boasts of magnificent Tibetian architecture and dcor. It has lot of spiritual significance too as it is the abode of the 17th Karmapa, who is the head of one of the main schools of Tibetan Buddhism.
Triund is one of the most popular treks in the region. A 9 kilometers trek from Mcleodganj - it offers breathtaking view of the Himalayas. Summer months - April to June, and the autumn and early winter months of September to November, are best times of the year to go on this trek.
