"My journey in India has been one of the most life changing experiences. It is a country of organized chaos, in which no one could ever prepare you for until you live it for yourself. Rishikesh is a cute little town where it is easy to get to know most of the locals and develop friendships with them. Shiva Yoga Peeth is an incredible establishment with some of the most brilliant yoga instructors. The ashtanga teacher, Siddharth, ignited my love for ashtanga, offering great adjustments, and modifications for asanas and always comes to class with a refreshing energy. Raviji, the hatha teacher, has taught very restorative classes with a myriad of different techniques that have been great to learn many variations of stretches and asanas for future teaching. Sushan is a being of pure yogic knowledge, he is always so peaceful to be around and is always there to answer everyones questions and help as best he can. He holds a healing pranayama morning class, with the setting of the moon upon the Ganges and the rising of the sun, as well as a very interesting anatomy and physiology course. Our meditation and philosophy teacher is such a kind soul, with a gift for bringing out peoples hearts and creating a safe environment to share our deepest thoughts and feelings. The food is always delicious and easy to digest, I specifically love the oatmeal with raisins for breakfast and of course the chai. The yoga hall is so beautiful overlooking the Ganges, with amazing sunlight from the sunrise and sunset from the rooftop. Mother Ganges beholds an energy like no other. Her Spirit transcends into each of us solely through her divine presence beside Shiva Yoga Peeth's pristine location. Ending my last month of a 6-month odyssey across South East Asia, I could not think of a more perfect place to return back to my true self, to be able to meditate upon all the things I have experienced, and under the holy energy of this town, its people, and all the students from around the world who unite together through this boundless love of yoga.Love, light, and my deepest gratitude. Namaste!"

"I visited Rishikesh 5 years ago and was enchanted by her beauty; surrounded by the lush foothills of the Himalaya and caressed by the powerful Ganga it is a very scared place. I remember the first night I spent there falling asleep to the sound of prayer and waking to the sound of prayer, I vowed to return one day and study yoga. It was an incredible journey; I feel I have been challenged physically, mentally and emotionally and have gained a lot of personal insight and strength from the experience and now have the foundation and tools to further develop my practice and confidence to teach others. The course is very comprehensive exploring all aspects of yoga from philosophy to anatomy with the right balance of discipline and nurture. The teachers are all inspirational and the staff are very warm and friendly.I highly recommend Shiva Yoga Peeth." website, edited

Swami Sudhirji has massive knowledge in his field and himself a strong yoga and spirituality practitioner. Very nice place for traditional yoga practice. I strongly suggest this place to enjoy yoga on the barrier of the Ganga river and cool air."

"I was so lucky and blessed to have been able to attend SHIVA YOGA PEETH for my for my 200 & 300 hours YTT courses in 2012, 2013 and 2014 respectively. The first time I went to study with Swami Sudhir Annand was by far the best experience of my life. I was able to learn so much about the true nature of Yoga and of its history. The course was so well designed and organized that I felt I could finally understand the true essence of a yogic lifestyle. Thanks to SHIVA YOGA PEETH Swami Ji, and its fantastic staff members, I gained valuable knowledge in Pranayama, Asanas Kriyas, Mantras, Ayurveda, yogic nutrition, proper alignment, the 8 limbs of Yoga and all the essential tools to become a successful yoga teacher. After I finished my 200 hours, I returned to Japan where I was working as an English teacher and for the last two years my wife (who also did her 200 hours YTT course at SHIVA YOGA PEETH) and I founded the AUMAU YOGA community in the city of Fukuoka. This project was designed to offer our students the opportunity to experience a full traditional Indian style yoga class in English. After the first year I felt the need to learn more and so I went back to SHIVA YOGA PEETH to complete my 300 YTT course in 2013. This time I spent learning and practicing more advanced yoga techniques and it was truly one of the best courses I've ever taken in my life. The satvic diet and all vegetarian cuisine of India is certainly an essential compliment to the lifestyle as well as the comfortable and secure single and shared rooms. The Sunday outings and tours of the area just make you feel adventurous and safe at the same time and the landscapes are just magnificent. For anyone thinking about taking a Yoga Teachers' Training course, I highly recommend and endorse SHIVA YOGA PEETH as the best school in Rishikesh. It is an overall enlightening journey.I can't wait to go back to SHIVA YOGA PEETH (again)!"

"Shiva Yoga Peeth teacher training program was much more than I expected. Coming from Canada, I had practiced yoga for about 2 years. I had a good physical practice and thought I knew quite a bit about yoga. Shiva Yoga Peeths traditional Hatha style yoga course taught me so much more than I have ever imagined. Whether you are intending on teaching yoga after this course or just doing it for your personal practice, I strongly recommend you go to India and take a traditional yoga teacher training course, and I strongly recommend you do it through Shiva Yoga Peeth. The purity and personal practice of Swami Sudir is unparalleled, the location is outside of rishikesh so your not in a big city, and the bonds you make with fellow students will stay with you for your life time. I came to take a yoga teacher training course, and I left with the tools that will enhance my life forever."

" My time in the ashram completing the 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training has not only shown me what my physical body is capable of, but has helped me to harness and use a new voice and my natural ability to teach. We were also very well taken care of. For westerners coming without any other experience in India, it is a very comfortable way to arrive and find their India feet. In the ashram, any sort of help is available, and the food here is prepared with love and care in a hygienic manner. Also, the program is very comprehensive. In such a short amount of time, I was able to understand so much about yogic philosophy, as well as practice. My month at Shiva Yoga Peeth helped me on my path to becoming a safe and effective yoga teacher. Rishikesh is also a beautiful place to spend some time. A very holy place, right on the bank of the Ganga, Rishikesh is a properly Indian place where one can still find some western comforts. Plus, there is a bounty of natural beauty here, with countless waterfalls in the area, beautiful jungle and views of the Himalayas. My time here has affected my life in a very profound and positive way!"

"I completed my training under guidance of Swami Sudhir at Shiva Yoga Peeth, Reshikesh, India. Internationally qualified to instruct in Traditional Hatha, Ashtanga, Sivananda, Pranayama & Yogic Meditation. I am extremely fortunate to have had the opportunity to study with such a profound teacher who lives the simple yet powerful yogic values and has dedicated his life to sharing its benefits and wisdom throughout the world. Deeply understanding the enormity of compassion, humor, simplicity, generosity, gentleness, dedication to higher values and practice is a gift that will stay with me for a life time. If you have ever considered studying yoga or visiting an ashram in India I couldn't recommend Swami Sudhir enough. Swami ensures it is always an unforgettable experience showing you the best of India and Indian way of life.He is one of few Swamis that has the ability to teach traditional practice in a deeply meaningful way, to transform and inspire each person inexactly the way they need and help each individual to find 'their yoga'."
